Turn on Night Mode (this acts like a long exposure: 3–10 seconds handheld, up to 30 seconds with a tripod). 2. Turn off the flash. 3. Lock the focus on something far away, like a star (hold your finger on the screen until it locks). 4. I tried shooting handheld, but it was so cold I could barely manage. You can use your hands, but I strongly suggest bringing a tripod to keep the phone steady and avoid blurry shots. 5. If available, shoot in RAW for better editing options. 6. Lock the white balance in your settings so colors don’t shift. 7. Wipe your lens to remove smudges before shooting. 🎥 Videos settings - 1. Best quality: Set resolution to 4K at 24 fps this setting captures more light per frame and gives sharper results. 2.Good alternative: If you want to save storage space, use 1080p at 30 fps still works, just with slightly less detail. 3. Lock focus on the stars before hitting record. 4. Press record and, if you move the camera, do it very slowly and smoothly. 5. Use two hands to keep the phone steady (though again, in the cold this can be tough). 6. Do not use flash. 👉 Reminder: The photos usually look more dramatic than what your eyes see, and your eyes will always pick up more detail than your phone can record in video. 📅 Plan your visit between end of August and April for the best chance to witness this natural wonder.
