🇧🇷Copacabana Fort 🇧🇷 Is one of those outlooks in Rio which you should not miss! Look at the views on Copacabana Beach and Sugar loaf mountain here! The fort is open for visitation (and FREE for now). The museum in the fort is closed. There are 2 cafes: Colombo and 18. Both have tables outside and view. 🇧🇷 I visited Rio 🇧🇷 for the first time in 2012. And I can say, it was love at first sight. For the city and for cariocas, Brazilians born in Rio de Janeiro. I find them kind, open, artistic, happy and active. And their open minds made me feel at home in another country. And I recommend starting with graffity tour in Beco de Batman and around Vila Madalena. There are a lot of talented artists in SP with their unique messages to the world, worth discovering. 🇧🇷The best outlooks in Rio🇧🇷 Now that you can come and visit my city, I want to give you a list of the outlooks that you can visit. Rio is one of the most beautiful cities to look at from above. I will exclude two most obvious: Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. These are the most visited and you'll get there anyways. What other spots you should keep in mind: ⛰ Two Brothers or Dois Irmãos is the mountain in the end of Leblon Beach. You can only hike to the top through favela Vidigal. Make sure you go with a guide since you have to pass through favela.(pic 1) ⛰Santa Marta or Dona Marta outlook, which is located on the way to Corcovado mountain. Easy to get to, beautiful view over the city. (Pic 2) ⛰Chinese View or Vista Chinesa is located further in Tijuca NP and it's worth getting there since you'll actually drive through the forest. (Pic 3) ⛰ Pedra da Gavea is the highest mountain in the world located at an ocean's shore. This hike is demanding, strongly recommend to go with a guide who uses special climbing equipment, there's a very steep and dangerous part called Carrasqueira. (Pic 4) ⛰ Pedra do Telegrafo - internet sensation which will make you spend 2 hours in public transportation to get to the trail and another hour in a line to take THAT picture.(Pic 5) ⛰ I'll not describe Pedra Bonita here, since its closed for visit as of now. ⠀ Do you like hiking? 🇧🇷Covid re-opening in Brazil🇧🇷 Hope you're doing just fine this first Monday of August. If you have been thinking about going to Brazil for any reason (move, travel, family visit, work) I have great news: main Brazilian airports of Rio, Sao Paulo and Brasília are officially open for international flights. ✅To come as a tourist you MUST have insurance covering Covid-19 for the whole duration of your visit and negative Covid test. Also be ready to wear masks at all times! ➡️But besides that we are expecting opening of Sugar loaf cable car and Christ the Redeemer from 15th of August. 👍Now Botanical garden, Copacabana fortress, Confeitaria Colombo in the center and NP Tijuca are open for a visit. 🍃Worth to remember that to visit Tijuca NP you must practice sports for a no-problem visit, so use your jogging shoes🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ And Pedra Bonita trail is closed. 🌳Botanical Garden requires a time reservation for a visit on their website. 🏖 It's also allowed to swim, but forbidden to sit on the sand. 🇧🇷 Rise and shine🇧🇷 Red beach, Copacabana and Ipanema are locations to practice swimming in the open water. There are lifeguards on duty. You can take swimming classes in the morning or in the evening with professionals at the Red Beach (Praia Vermelha). Here the waves are the lowest or none at all so its perfect for beginners. 🇧🇷Amazonas region 🇧🇷 is fantastic! I could never imagine that a boat tour through flooded forest can be so good! Here we are on a speed boat really close to Manaus. But there are many different options of how you can spend your tour time in Amazônia. If you choose to stay at a lodge in Amazônia, you can row down the creeks in flooded forest, take photos, search for animals and birds and enjoy the nature. Believe me, its worth it!
