![Ad. Who knew doors could cause such a domino effect? These Origin OB-36+ soho French doors by origin_global were the first change (smoothest install ever by the way with their fantastic team) and then one idea spiralled into a whole dining nook makeover.

![Ad. I know I said my youngest son’s bedroom was finished... but you know how it goes 😅 There were still a few

EDIT: Re: religious reasons as I know some will ask. in Islam we aren't meant to charge or take interest on any money loaned out or received ( we can loan or receive money - just not with interest). This is because the concept of interest represents an unfair situation for one of the two parties in a business transaction or loss. High levels of interest can sometimes cause financial insecurity, exploiting people on low incomes and without a financial safety net.
But it's also important to note that- that not all Muslims this rule, but we have chosen to 💛

![I’ve gotten lots of questions about my rolling kitchen island. It’s actually a school vintage science table… when designing my kitchen, I wasn’t sure if I wanted a fixed peninsula or not and trialing something like this first seemed like a good idea! I tweaked it by adding some wheels, a rail and shelf. It’s so handy, and we use it for so many different things in the kitchen.

![A kitchen update - a year later. Really happy with the progress we’ve made so far. It’s a room in the house that we use a lot so of course it was the first room we wanted to put all our efforts into. ![This is the first in my new Low Energy DIY series , where I’ll be sharing small, feel-good projects for when time (or energy) is in short supply. Think low effort, low mess, but still satisfying
My kids’ artwork was slowly taking over every surface in the house 😅 so I carved out a little wall under the stairs to give it a proper home.
All I used for this project was 40 x 30cm (1cm thick) self adhesive cork tiles (which I got from Etsy) , a pen and scissors.
Would definitely recommend for a blank wall or corner in your home. What do you think?

![Can’t believe it’s been a year already, that’s gone past so quickly! But honestly? Most of that year was about figuring the house out. We lived in it. Sat with it. Got to know the light, the layout, the way it felt.
We didn’t rush into renovations. We used furniture from our old place, made things work “for now,” and waited until we were ready.
In January, we started the kitchen. That wrapped up last month (well… mostly 😅), and we also finished my 3-year-old’s bedroom. Both have already made such a difference to how we feel in this space.
There’s still plenty to do, but no pressure because creating a home takes time right?]()
