If you’re filming outside and want to retain some decent motion blur, you might have your setting locked into place, resulting in an overexposed image. Using an ND filter will help by reducing the amount of light that gets through to your camera sensor. There are also fixed stop ND Filters, but then you’d have to buy multiple of them depending on how bright it is that day. You guys don’t want to sleep on this, trust me. My biggest issue with not using contracts for long term work isn’t even payments, but rather scope creep. What is scope creep? Well, it’s when the work your client asks of you starts to gradually change over time. Maybe they’ll ask for a small favor or a tiny change on an edit. Then they’ll ask to do it again or to change it a bit more. Then they’ll ask might ask if you can do another super small, quick edit. Fast forward and you’ve done 3-4 rounds of revisions/favors for free that were never agreed upon. This creates an expectation to continue to operate like this, and oftentimes you end up doing more work than what you are charging for/agreed to initially. That’s where agreements come in. If you’ve set an expectation initially and have it agreed to and signed for in writing, scope creep is much easier to avoid. It’s not impossible to experience now, but you have a concrete document that you can point to and show that there are things that are growing beyond the scope of work. This might even allow you to charge more. How? Well, if you’ve set are made aware of additional work that your client wants you to do, that wasn’t initially agreed upon, it’s simple to say, “well this wasn’t something we talked about in our agreement. However I can definitely help you take care of that task as well, for a small additional charge of ____” Trust me, I’ve been burned when doing work without contracts/agreements. Nowadays, I only ever really do it with clients I already signed on before I had this agreement made, since I trust them a lot more already. Do yourself a favor and comment the word “contract” to get mine for free. Day 1/30 of Cam Academy: How to do the Earth Zoom Out effect This one is a lot simpler than people might expect, so here’s the full breakdown: First, film a cool/creative video that you want the zoom in effect to take place. I filmed my video with the back camera at 0.5x zoom, and just filmed myself with the phone backwards in my hand. Next, export the first frame of the video and put it into the Higgsfield AI for the Earth Zoom effect. You’ll see that the effect is a zoom out, but don’t worry - we’ll reverse it later. I’ve found that letting the AI do its thing without an end frame or a prompt gave me the best results, though your experience may vary. After waiting a bit for the video to process, download it, throw it into your editing software, reverse it, remove the last couple frames, and trim the start to your liking. That’s pretty much it!
