Happy international yoga day you crazy yogis! What a joy it is to have found this practice and to be able to share it with so many of you who come to practice with me. Seriously without this practice I don’t know if I would be the person I am today. This practice and devotion to it has given me the best things in life I could ever have dreamed of. 

Thank you to all my teachers past and present for guiding me on this journey and for the blessings of your wisdom. I am eternally grateful 🙏

PARK YOGA. !!! Every Friday 6pm southwark park :) 

We’ve been blessed with some epic weather this year and it seems to be continuing 🙌🏻 since the closure of the beautiful lodge space we have been meeting every Friday night to do yoga in nature and catch up in community afterwards. 

Open to all abilities and levels, no yoga experience needed to join :) 

Tomorrow is going to be glorious, if you’d like to come get involved DM me for deets or come meet us behind the lodge garden for an hr of yummy slow flow in nature. Mats and blocks can be provided on request.

Hey beauties, 

I was just watching a reel from neuro_tribe  and it really hit me, that I wanted to share something on it. 

SUMMER- FIRE element. 

It can be a beautiful positive force for all of us but for some of us it’s the most overwhelming time ever! It can be a sensory overload in the most uncontrollable way. Heat for all of us is something that takes patience to sit with. We’ve all had those moments in life when we’re just TOO hot temperature wise that we flake. Imagine that whilst not being able to properly regulate your nervous system. It’s hell for some people. 

For anyone who comes to my yin classes or does somatic work with me, you will know I talk a lot about the 5 elements of Tao and in perticular the fire energy of summer. It can be a beautiful thing for some and a way to push forward. But for those of us that feel the shift in energy quiet strongly, summer and that fire element can be incredibly overwhelming! It’s a huge force is summer! All that fizzy energy you feel as a non divergent person, imagine that times 100, that’s what it can feel like for an autistic person or anyone on the spectrum of nerodivergence. It can deplete them hugely. Slow Flow Fridays……. Who’s joining me? 

It’s starting to get super cold in London and we even had our first flurry of snow ❄️ As the seasons change so do our bodies and so does our practice. You might notice yourself naturally wanting to slow down maybe? 

In Chinese medicine Metal is the element of Autumn and it offers us the chance to let go of what we no longer need, like the trees in nature are dropping they’re leaves and conserving energy ready for winter, we too should be looking at what we can get rid of, and how we can best conserve some of our energy. 

Unfortunately modern life and especially city life doesn’t allow for us to just go into Hibernation and fully melt into rest, but we can help our nervous systems by slowing down and perhaps adding more gentler practices to our routine. 

If you fancy slowing down with me tomorrow and every Friday till the end of the year come get cosy with us in our beautiful little space at the Buddhist center in Bermondsey. With Heaters on, candles lit and in a gorgeous quiet space for you to unwind ☺️

Heaven on Earth …..

What is yoga? 

Or rather “what is yoga to you?” 

There are many different ways to practice yoga and it doesn’t have to be just about the asanas themselves. Some of the most incredible experiences of yoga I have felt have been when I’m just sitting quietly and listening. To my breath, to the fluctuations of my crazy mind, to the beauty that can be felt when we slow everything down. Most importantly though for me is the deep listening to my physical body. What do I need right now? How do I truly feel? What’s really going on with that little ache or pain I’m feeling? 

For me the softer practices have always been the key to opening myself up. I adore doing strong classes and pushing myself and my limits, but I come back to my heart when I allow myself to just be soft. 

It’s with such a heavy heart that I say goodbye to the beautiful sacred space of thelodge.space and look towards the new. This space has been my home for 7yrs and I’ve met sooo many incredible souls here 🥰 

I don’t want to let go of this beautiful community we have built, so I’ve decided to keep running our Friday night slow flow classes at the Buddhist Center in Bermondsey. I would love to stay connected and keep this beautiful community together ❤️ 

Class will be at the same time it’s always been to keep our routine, first one will be

1st day of Feb ….. starting it as I mean to go on :) 

Didn’t realise how much I needed to just be still until I was in yoga yesterday with the amazing belair_yoga  holding such epic soft and safe space for me to fully open. All the shit of the last month, finally releasing out of my body. I wasn’t expecting it. Clearly I’ve been holding onto too much and not taking time for myself properly to process it all. Instead I’ve been taking on more and more work (don’t get me wrong I’m loving the opportunities that have come my way with work lately) but burn out is getting close if I don’t slow down and take rest days.

Bit of upside down play…. Keeping my inversions on the burn so my muscle memory stays strong. 

Had a few great 1:1 sessions lately teaching crow and introductions to arm balances and learnt loads from my students in the process that I’m thinking I might run a few workshops on this…

Spent the afternoon in some quiet reflection, diving deep into this element of water. Feeling into my scenses, inviting smell (although water elements smell is actually putrid which is not so relaxing 😆) and even though the water element is deep in the depths of winter, today I had this beautiful sunshine to practice with :) 

You can come find me this evening 7.15pm thelodge.space and a **NEW CLASS alert** as of next Tuesday you can also find me teaching the 6.30pm Dynamic vinyasa and 7.30pm Candle lit Yin. So excited to share this beautiful practice with you all. 

I know it’s freezing and we all just want to be tucked up in bed after 4.30pm but I promise to make the space super warm and cosy for us. Essential oils and all the tenderness as always 🫶🏻

Sometimes it’s good to just move… with no intention of being perfect, with no judgment of what you look like (or what others might think you look like) just moving for the pure intention of movement as medicine 🙏 

My bodies super creaky and out of practice from a long well deserved break from yoga or any movement practice that wasn’t hiking or dancing 😁 

Feels good to be back on my mat just doing me for the sake of it with no goal other than to just move 🙌🏻

*** also very aware I’m shit at putting reels together 🤣 I could have spent hours tidying this up and being more (non ADHD) with myself but I thought FUCK it life’s not like that.
