I’ve been traveling for many years now,
with the privilege of telling stories around the world.

![Laura & Vainius, Lake Como 2025
I met up with L&V on Lake Como a few weeks ago and worked alongside them for three days. It was especially beautiful to share such intimate moments with them. There’s something about the nature of elopements that makes the connections formed during those experiences even more intense. We laughed, marveled at the beauty of that corner of Italy, and got soaked and took shelter as best we could during a sudden downpour that caught us at Villa Carlotta, in its stunning botanical garden that hosts species from all over the world.
This is a random selection, while waiting for the film scans — but I couldn’t resist sharing a little something already.

![I met Ludovica and Olmo at a dinner with friends in Modica a couple of years ago. When they told me about their desire to celebrate their wedding in Sicily and to involve me, I immediately felt it was going to be something special.
I’ve always loved observing how life somehow arranges appointments that lead us to certain encounters. These are events linked together, stretched along invisible threads to our eyes. But a radical choice - like the one I made years ago to choose a place like Modica to build my home - eventually led me there that evening, with friends who brought me to that meeting, like Simone Sabaini and Alex Majoli.
There’s a beautiful book I read years ago, The Celestine Prophecy, which speaks of this invisible thread, this flow of everyday coincidences that guide us toward our true destiny.

![In recent days, I’ve been feeling particularly nostalgic for the Aeolian Islands, an archipelago off the northern coast of Sicily, places that are truly close to my soul.
Over the years, work created a kind of ritual, as there would always be an event that gave me the chance to escape for a few days, between Stromboli, Salina, Lipari, or perhaps the wilder Alicudi or Filicudi.
This is an emotional selection, with some frames taken from the wonderful film by Rossellini, starring the beautiful Ingrid Bergman.

Over the years, I’ve had the chance to visit New York multiple times. The first time was in 2011, thanks to a scholarship I won, which gave me the opportunity to attend a workshop that literally changed my perspective and marked the beginning of this incredible journey.
Since then, I’ve returned many times for work, and this past November, it was Kelsey and Kenneth who wanted me there to capture their wedding. I spent two beautiful days with them, feeling completely at ease and welcomed in the best way possible.

It’s no secret that in life, a dose of courage and recklessness is needed to grasp our dreams. This is exactly what Alessia and I thought as a Defender brought us down from 2,300 meters in the middle of the night, through forests and barely passable roads from the Punta Jolanda refuge.
I’m particularly happy to see this work featured on Vogue today, for the value of having created it with my life partner, for the beauty and joy I experienced during those days, for the friendship that blossomed with Alessandra and Andrea, and for the suppliers we worked with.

![In December 2023, I had the opportunity to photograph Carla and James’ wedding in a wintery Florence ❄️ It’s always exciting to step out of the usual and work in a different setting.
They celebrated with a small group of family, spending the day before exploring the city center and visiting the Galleria dell’Accademia, home to Michelangelo’s David. On the wedding day, we captured some great shots at caffegilli and la_menagere , before they wrapped up the evening with dinner at the famous trattoriacammillo .

![I still remember how uncomfortable I felt doing portraits in the early years of my career. This may sound strange given my many years of experience in the wedding industry, but with my documentary approach, portraits weren’t very relevant to my storytelling at that point. I’ve thought about this often, always feeling like something was wrong with me - perhaps because I’m naturally discreet and worried about being intrusive.
Everything changed when I started working with a large format camera in 2016. I discovered how equipment could influence my relationship with subjects, and then came medium format photography. In this different visual language, I found a part of myself. The slower approach helped me create deeper connections with my subjects. Now, after several years, I’m surprised to find that portraiture has become one of the most fascinating aspects of photography to me.
While I feel I still have much to learn, I wanted to share these thoughts because I believe many of us experience similar revelations in our creative journeys.
Here are some images I captured in Sicily during time spent with Simone Sabaini, searching for beauty together. He is the founder of ilgiornocheforsenonesiste and one of my dearest friends.

![These frames capture a few days I spent in Dorset with Alessia. We were seeking some peace after a long wedding season and were fortunate to discover a true gem in the English countryside. During our time there, we met Sir John Eliot Gardiner, a renowned English conductor, and Gwyneth Wentink, an extraordinary harpist. We had a wonderful conversation with them about music, Italy, Sicily, and much more. What I love most about photography is how often it becomes a passport to life.
