I’ve been 320+ lbs to as low as 132 lbs.
The scale has been my cheerleader and also my enemy.

For YEARS I let that little number determine how I felt about myself. If it went down, I felt on top of the world. If it went up, it felt like my entire effort was wasted.

Through the years I’ve realized the scale will never tell the full story. It won’t tell you about the strength you’ve built, the discipline you’ve practiced, or the confidence you’ve gained. It won’t tell you how it feels to finally walk into a gym without fear, or to put on clothes you never thought would fit again.

The scale is just data. It’s one piece of the puzzle, but it’s not the definition of success.

If I would’ve learned these sooner, I would’ve saved myself from a lot of frustration, failed “restarts,” and guilt around food😮‍💨

I don’t know if you needed a reminder but HEY GIRL you said you were going to lock in, in January 👀 we’re now in September 🤷🏽‍♀️

⚡️ I stopped waiting for “motivation” and just showed up
⚡️ I tracked what I ate instead of pretending it didn’t matter
⚡️ I quit saying “tomorrow” and started NOW
⚡️ I held myself accountable even when no one was watching

I remember my first day walking into the gym like it was yesterday… not knowing where to start, feeling so intimidated & questioning:

“How is someone going to help me if they’ve never been in my shoes?”

All the trainers looked so fit. And even when it came to my first session, they were asking me to do things my body couldn’t even handle.

I never saw a trainer with my body type. With my story. With my scars, my loose skin, my stretch marks. So instead of waiting for one… I became her.

Now I get to be the coach I once needed. The one who understands how heavy that first step feels. The one who knows what it’s like to be embarrassed, to feel out of place, to wonder if change is even possible!!

You can call it delusion, but that mindset has carried me through my whole gym journey.

When I first started, I was over 300 lbs & walking into the gym felt intimidating!! I could’ve convinced myself everyone was judging me but instead, I imagined they were all secretly cheering me on 😙

Y’all, right after my 360 body lift I LOST my butt 😅 but I was determined to build it back and here we are 😤

This was also before my stage 4 can¢er diagnosis & through it all, I kept my word.

Definitely not an easy process & definitely had some ROUGH days, but when you show up little by little, the results add up in a big way.

Now I look back at that girl and I’m proud 🥲 proud that she didn’t quit, proud that she trusted the process, and proud that she built the body and mindset she dreamed of.

No I was actually so devastated 😭 I grew up cheering for a little league football team from age 5 to 16 and in 10th grade I finally had the courage to try out for school cheer & and hen I didn’t see my name on the list I was HURT.

Knowing I had experience & they picked girls who never cheered a day in their life… I just knew it wasn’t about talent. They didn’t have a uniform to fit me orrr maybe it just wasn’t “acceptable” for them to have a fat cheerleader on the team 🤷🏽‍♀️ 

(We’re not looking at my moves now btw 💀)
