![Start to finish pulled this install off in 72 hours. It was a long no-sleep weekend but surprising my friend tylerjcameron with his new upstairs work loft & seeing his reactions made our hearts burst.🥹
Tyler & his talented girlfriend Tate have been remodeling the rest of their home for months so when I tackled his work (a well deserved break for them!) it was important to pull the same colors and vibe from the rest of their home through to these spaces to preserve the flow. I just added a sophisticated and more masculine flare to these rooms to help delineate it as his office space.

![If I can DIY this, I KNOW you can. My new peel + stick wallpaper (exclusively homedepot online) is a fun DIY project you can tackle for the first time & make it look professionally installed! I also love how forgiving it is during the install process if you need to pull it off and re-adjust your lines. It’s also great for renters because it takes mere seconds to remove & it won’t hurt your paint or drywall, even if it’s been up for five years!
FULL, IN DEPTH TUTORIAL ON YOUTUBE!
**Key install points**
-always cut your strips on top of cardboard, it makes for the cleanest, easiest cuts
-use a new, sharp blade for cutting
-cut every piece 2-4” long on top AND on the bottom, then when you hang it, leave 2-4” overhang on top and bottom and cut both after the fill sheet it smoothed onto the wall
-when cutting around outlets and light switches, mark the wallpaper with a pencil and then make your ‘cut out’ while holding the paper away from the wall as we never want to cut near the box
-walk 5 steps back when you’re done, look at what you just did, and feel really proud of yourself
-read previous step again, possibly do it again

-24” long level
-your fave hype music because your space about to get LIT

The BEST part about my new collection is that it’s TEXTURED, which means it FEELS like traditionally hung (aka glue) wallpaper when you touch it, but without the COST or the HASSLE of installing it! ![For seven days and seven nights my team and I poured our hearts into this beautiful soul’s home. If you’re new here, the reason she’s so surprised is because she left her home for a week and came back to a completely renovated & fully designed home. I have a unique business model because I never tell our clients what I’m designing. We don’t discuss colors, design style, nada. I learn everything I can about them, about their home, and then I secretly marry the two in the design.
Project DEL MARene was not a project, it was an act of love. Love for surprising a wonderful person, love for creating, love for being a part of a team. The reactions on Marene’s face are of someone who has worked extremely hard, who has been through a lot personally recently, and who gives so much of herself to others. She deserved every ounce of this surprise and all the feelings that come with it🥹.
It is an honor to be trusted blindly with someone’s home. It’s why every detail matters and why her reactions in this video will live rent free in my mind for as long as I’m here.

Her inspiring story is not mine to tell, but let’s just say she’s worked insanely hard to get to the place of finally having her dream home & she has overcome some incredibly challenging life events to get here. I’ve known her for a few years because we worked at Goldman together so getting to work with her again, except I’m wearing overalls instead of a suit this time, made my heart explode. She deserves every ounce of the good juju we left inside her walls and her reaction in reveal day brought tears to ALL of our eyes (video coming soon!).
I’m also SCREAMING EXCITED to announce I’m launching my new flooring line THIS WEEK, which I used all throughout her project. ![I mostly work on other people’s homes so when I get to spend time on my own it feels a little like sneaking out of my bedroom window on a school night😏. I need more of this in my life.

![Pro design tip: the easiest way to instantly elevate a room is with a FEATURE WALL! Aka don’t be afraid to pour all of your energy into just one wall… the rest of the room will thank you later (and then you can thank homedepot). ;)
I design & install a lot of feature walls and there’s no exaggeration when I say I source 100% of my materials from homedepot. They have every tool, material, and paint I need no matter what I’m creating. It’s also the only store I’ve ever been to with its own in-store app. I walk in and suddenly feel like an employee because I can locate every item in the store! That said, I love how helpful everyone working there is from mixing paint to helping me check-out. I see an orange apron & I already know they’re on my team.

![Surprising my girl taryndelaniesmith with a 72 hour NYC apartment makeover (site unseen) was exhilarating because of the time crunch and terrifying because I’d never actually been inside the apartment until install started. Deeply grateful for this experience and the blind trust she and her incredible husband Alec gave us in their new space where they’ll be making all of their first year of marriage memories.🥹

![This is the most difficult client I’ve ever worked for. Every time I finish one room she adds two more onto the project. Every caulk line, every paint stroke… she’s like white on rice; ALL OVER IT. The best worst part of this full home renovation is that I can’t even fire her as a client when we finish because, she is me. It’s me, hi, I’m (definitely) the problem it’s me! 🙋🏼♀️
This is a reading nook off one of my guest bedrooms & it’s the first of many projects I’ll be sharing from my own home! When we surprised the Calloway family with a home renovation on our HBO Show, their two little boys wanted their rooms done too but we couldn’t fit it in. Their youngest son (Cade) gave me a long list of all the things he wanted in his room (it was the cutest wishlist I’d ever seen and filled up an entire page!). I promised them one day we’d come back.
A year and a half later…
This past weekend they took a family summer trip to Costa Rica & it was the perfect time to come in over the weekend and make their surprise happen without their boys knowing. I also surprised mom & dad (who are two of my closest friends) with a living room ‘refresh’ so they’d have a surprise too! I know, I’m addicted. I’m also forever grateful to the Calloway’s for always RESPECTing my crazy process of surprising people blindly and never telling them anything I’m buying or what I’m doing to their home. Makes it 10x more fun!
Next I’ll be posting their reveal video, what was on Cade’s wishlist🥹, & some wallpaper and painting tutorials! Love ya’ll so much, thanks for giving me this space to be creative and unapologetically myself. You’ve healed me in ways I can’t even begin to explain. 🩷🙏🏻

I’d call this design style ‘elevated equestrian’ though there are a lot of pieces you could pull from these rooms to transition into other styles. I love incorporating crossover pieces that can transition between different aesthetics. It’s something I do in every project and it helps keep things feeling fresh and not too ‘on the nose’ for any one particular style. That’s when things get predictable… and I don’t ever want to be predictable.
