When it comes to Instagram growth, it’s simply not as easy to get more Instagram followers in 2019 as it was a year or two ago.

With over 1 billion monthly users, an ultra-smart algorithm, and tons of clever, creative brands on Instagram, it’s a competitive place if you want to grow your account and boost your following.

So if you really want to stand out, show off your brand, and get more followers on Instagram, you have to work smarter and harder.

If you want to get more Instagram followers, you need to pay attention to what your Instagram profile looks like as a whole.

Your feed is the first opportunity you have to make a great impression and entice people to hit the “follow” button. And since your Instagram profile is becoming as important as your homepage, you want to make sure it looks on point.

When someone visits your Instagram profile, they will decide in seconds whether or not to follow your business. How do they make that decision? By quickly scrolling through your feed, reading your bio, or clicking on your stories highlights.

When it comes to converting visitors into followers, it’s no longer just the editing style of your photos that need to be consistent.
You also want to have a great Instagram profile photo, an effective Instagram bio, active stories, and coordinating cover photos for your Instagram highlights.

Luckily, it’s easy to build a professional-looking feed with a well-curated and cohesive Instagram aesthetic!

What’s important, is that you make sure every aspect of your feed and every post aligns with the aesthetic you’ve chosen for your brand. So whether you’re posting on Instagram Stories, publishing an IGTV video, or creating highlights for your profile page, you need to make sure everything aligns with and represents your overall branding and Instagram aesthetic.

Let’s talk Algorithms || I think we can all agree there is much to cover on this topic and with what is working right now.
We’re covering your top 3:

1. Interest: this is Instagram predicting how much you’ll care about a post.
The more they think you’ll “like” that post, the higher it appears in your feed. This is based on “past behavior on similar content and potentially machine vision analyzing the actual content of the post.”
Think about this one like the Instagram Explore page: once you like one video of slime, your entire explore page is full of slime videos. If someone in your feed posts a video of slime, Instagram’s going to guess that you’ll like that, too.

2. Timeliness: how long ago was this photo posted? The new Instagram algorithm will prioritize recent posts, so you’ll hopefully see fewer posts from over a week ago.
It sounds like Instagram is starting to care a lot more about when you posted, instead of just the content or engagement on the post. This was brought up around the holidays a couple years ago, when a lot of people were still seeing Christmas posts even though it was passed New Year’s.

3. Relationship: how do you know this person? If you comment on a lot of someone’s photos or are tagged in photos with them, this signals to Instagram that they probably fall into your “friends and family” category.
Feel like you never see a certain someone’s photos in your feed? Start commenting on their photos!

Tip: Tag some of your most engaging users and or users that are in-line with your brands vision on your content. This can help get your content in front of your core audience more easily.

How do you take Instagram to the next level? One of the best ways we’ve found to engage followers on Instagram is by creating a community.

Ask any influencer how they rose to Instafame and they’ll tell you in one word: community. But how do you rally and get people to follow you? We’ve polled our most successful clients and scoured the ‘gram in search of influencers who have amassed huge followings, to pin down exactly how they created the incredible communities that continue to support them today.

Here are 4 insider secrets to networking and meeting people on Instagram who will become part of your tribe.

Secret 1– Know Your Audience
This is the number one go-to strategy that businesses use to create raving fans and repeat customers. Before you even begin to build your community, you need to know exactly who you’re talking to and what makes them tick. In business and marketing, this is called creating a customer persona, or avatar. In your case, you’re shaping your ideal follower. Once you know exactly who that person is, you’ll have a better sense of what type of content to create and share. You’ll also be equipped to craft the right voice, tone and personality for your larger Instagram audience.

Here are some questions to ask yourself as you determine your ideal follower:
Where do they live?
Male or female?
How old are they?
What do they do for a living?
What are their hobbies and interests?
What articles do they read? Podcasts?
What Instagram accounts or hashtags do they follow?

How much free time do they have?
When are they active online? On Instagram?
Be as detailed as possible to get a true sense of who this person is, and to create a full profile. You might even give your ideal follower a name so you can really relate to him or her, making it easier to speak to Brad, Meghan or Liz.

Not to worry! That’s why we’re rounding up some of the best Instagram filters in photography apps to help you take your photos to the next level:

Our top favorite’s are:

Evidence that Instagram & travel integrate perfectly

It’s no surprise that Instagram is very popular among travelers and travel destinations alike. After all, Instagram is more about photos than anything else. Tour retailers and travel destinations have long known the value of great travel photography. That’s why the glossy brochure was all the rage in the days before social media.

Nowadays, however, every solo traveler with a smartphone, an Instagram account, and a slight understanding of how hashtags work can be a major marketing boon for travel-related businesses. Moreover, many non-travel businesses are using the allure of travel prizes combined with the marketing power of Instagram to greatly increase their brand awareness. Don’t believe us? Just take a look at how the following companies are practically begging strong Instagram users to promote their goods and services:

1: Southwest Airlines
Known as the “friendly flier,” Southwest has gained a reputation as a cheap, fun, and slightly inconvenient choice for frequent travelers. The airline has also long been a frontrunner in the use of social media to promote its brand.

It’s latest promotion, however, has Instagram users sitting up and taking notice. Basically, if you have 2,500 or more Instagram followers, you can enter a contest to win a year’s worth of free flight travel from Southwest Airlines. Promoted as “Southwest’s Next Great Storyteller Search,” the contest is seeking quality content from strong influencers. The grand prize is 24 fully-paid one-way tickets on the airline that can be used within a year’s time.
Unlimited trips to Aruba, anyone?

Instagram Stories are a fun way to excite, entertain and engage your followers. Some of our favorite big brands have the right idea.

Get inspired by creating tutorials like etsy , break news like benandjerrys , go behind the scenes like the_newyork_times or come up with listicles like natgeo .

You can also create brand and influencer collabs, do a “takeover,” host a Q&A and so much more.

The most important thing to remember about Instagram Stories is just that–use them to tell a story. You want to be bold, interesting and authentic. But there are also some do’s and don’ts you’ll want to keep in mind.

Planning Your Instagram Feed and Aesthetic

One of the biggest benefits to using Lightroom presets is that you’re able to maintain a cohesive Instagram aesthetic across all your images.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The number one tip for a beautiful Instagram aesthetic? Use the same preset (or filter) on all of your images! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Having an Instagram feed that looks curated and edited will help you stand out from the crowd and convert your visitors to new Instagram followers.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So when it comes to selecting your presets, try to be consistent with the preset you use for all your Instagram feed images. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can also find a collection from a preset creator that’s complementary to each other so that you can use different presets, but they still look great next to each other!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you start swapping and changing presets with different tones or from different creators, you’re going to struggle to get that cohesive look.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even if you shoot in the darkest of alleys or against the brightest of white walls, if you’re using the same preset, it’s really going to help keep the underlying colors together!

Influencer marketing is one of the best forms of marketing today, used by brands, marketers and PR agencies to engage their audience and get a high ROI.

The more your brand invests in influencers, the more you’ll want to see in return — social media engagement AND increased sales. Ensuring that you’ll get what you expect, however, is its own challenge, which is why contracts are becoming commonplace. Any type of influencer, from nano to enormous, should be posting in a way that’s beneficial for the client – that’s the entire point, after all.

Getting excited about all those potential new customers isn’t an excuse for entering into an unofficial or “handshake” influencer agreement. Boundaries and regulations have to be set so that the process can run smoothly and the benefits can be reaped by all parties involved.

Want to be InstaFamous?

Hashtags play a major role in helping you go from just 100 followers to 100,000 followers and more. If you’re not using hashtags strategically, you’re definitely not taking full advantage of Instagram or First Look Social services.

You’ve taken lots of time and care to curate your Instagram feed and create uh-mazing content. The next step is to start researching and testing hashtags so that you truly start to level up.

We’ve listed 6 important tips to help you make the most of your Instagram hustle, specifically with hashtags in mind.

Tip 1–Maximize Your Hashtag Use
In this case, more is more. Instagram allows you to use up to 30 hashtags per post. We recommend using as many relevant hashtags as possible to maximize your chances of being found. You don’t want to use hashtags that don’t relate to your post or brand, or just simply don’t make sense. Use only super relevant hashtags, and as many of those as you can. Every relevant hashtag you add will help increase your reach and engagement.

Tip 2–Add Hashtags in Your Comments
A whole bunch of hashtags in your caption when viewers click more is a total turnoff. Instagram is all about creating an aesthetically pleasing experience for your followers. You want your posts to look pretty and synchronized as much as possible. A quick and easy fix is to add hashtags in your comments. This helps create a better user experience that is pleasing to the eye and distraction free.

Tip 3–Use “Invisible” Hashtags in Your Stories
Did you know? You can add up to 10 hashtags per Instagram Story post, and even sneakily hide hashtags in your Stories to improve your chances of appearing on the Explore Page. You can feature your main hashtag like in the BRAND (LA CROIX) (image on our blog page, along with full story) and increase or decrease the size of supporting hashtags depending on how you want your image to appear. Just pinch the hashtag text to play with the size or even hide the text under a GIF or sticker. Now you see it, now you don’t!
