- Nicki Minaj Pose Challenge 💅 but show em who’s boss 😂 Not a full time fitness influencer, but a full time working mom who is passionate about pushing others to their limits to see what they’re capable of! This summer has felt rough and dark at points so I needed a spark of light, which is what happens when I turn to fitness to solve my problems. “They holler at me…this ain’t high school” So glad I didn’t peak in high school because many adults are still living there 😉 My husband and I also discussed the physics of this challenge and how it was strange that influencers who are not fit are effortlessly achieving this feat - but the surface area of the dumbbells are barely large enough to fit an average foot? Long story short, don’t try this at home unless you’re okay with risking injury like I am, and don’t believe every dumb thing - or every dumbbell - you see on social media. I’m stunting here, but real fitness is not about stunts. It’s about boring, repetitive, consistent habits like eating clean, walking, running, biking, and lifting heavy weights. To key is to find some joy in any one of these activities! 💪🏽 Hope everyone is having a healthy and happy summer. Stay blessed, stay strong. . . . Thanks to the talented motionbymadison for her camera work and moral support - peep my stories for some behind the scenes footage. - Marie Louise Schillitani February 9, 1939 - June 22, 2025 There were bunches of green glass grapes atop dusty pedestal vases…and spiky, octopus brambles for plants. My small, curious hands would bleed as I examined each thorn on another bored day, the sun burning through the bay window of the abandoned living room. The Fendi fragrance clinging to your silk scarves. A scent so poisonous that the brand discontinued it…but you hunted down whatever bottles were left. Years later the gifts you’d never give me would arrive on my doorstep. The same ones we smelled in the folds of Vogue magazine. I would have lied about them so you would not feel envious. I am sneaking into your mirrored closet, trying on your favorite vintage purple suede pumps with the little rosettes…you laughed and took a Polaroid when they were too large for my little feet. I waited so many years to wear them. But the day they finally fit, you carted them away to the Salvation Army. It’s okay because my feet are too big now. There were the cats and dogs you gave away, and more I cannot say. There was the gardening. You could name every flower - whether they were perennials, did they need shade, did they need pruning? So much care, so much attention. And there were so many snails. You dropped them one by one in jars of ammonia as they each died a slow death. I wanted to scream on their behalf: “small creatures matter too!” I was a small creature. The power lines outside buzzed quietly as I tried to console him. He would say: “Just be easier.” No, I said. We argue. I am angry. Be. Like. Me. He will not. They can beat me blue and I will not bend. And they did. And they do. I am the steel pipe in the unfinished basement. I am the steel bar I am lifting. I am setting it down. I am hanging up the phone on you. I am working. I am too busy to hear what you are trying to tell me. My son hugs me. He wants to be close. I do not push him away and I do not ask why. I pluck a snail from the perils of the street. I set him aside on a smooth green leaf. I give away the perfumes and the shoes. It’s too much stuff to hold on to now.
