Alserkal Avenue wasn’t built to be ‘just another art space.’ It was born out of a vision to transform old warehouses into a creative ecosystem—where art, design, music, and ideas collide. What started as a handful of galleries in an industrial zone is now Dubai’s beating heart of contemporary culture. A place where creativity breathes, conversations spark, and boundaries blur. alserkalavenue 2025-09-03 16:35:47 Alserkal Avenue.. 53 -61% 6 -63%
Standing at the Dubai Frame, you witness a powerful metaphor: on one side lies the historic old Dubai - humble beginnings, vibrant souks, and cultural roots. On the other, the modern skyline of Downtown and Sheikh Zayed Road - a symbol of ambition, innovation, and limitless growth.

This contrast isn’t just architectural; it’s a reminder of how progress is built on heritage. Dubai has mastered the art of preserving its traditions while fearlessly reaching for the future.

For me, as a visual storyteller, the Dubai Frame isn’t just a monument—it’s a lesson in perspective: to succeed, you need to honor where you’ve come from while keeping your eyes set on where you’re going.

Kicking off my new series on my favorite spots in Dubai!
And honestly, where better to start than Dubai Creek Harbour, one of the most magical places to watch the sun dip behind the skyline.

Let’s be honest—every photographer has made these mistakes at some point 👇📸”

1️⃣ Believing better gear = better photos.
Truth: Gear helps, but vision > equipment.

2️⃣ Shooting everything, without telling a story.
Truth: One meaningful frame beats 50 random clicks.

3️⃣ Thinking editing could fix bad lighting.
Truth: No amount of sliders can replace good light.

✨ The real lesson? Focus on Vision, Light & Story. That’s how your photography levels up.

📌 Save this post before your next shoot as a reminder.

So this is how I shot this trippy Dolly Zoom effect on the iPhone — no editing needed, the phone does all the magic by itself.

👉 Start wide on 0.5X zoom.
👉 With every pull you do, ask your friend to zoom in while taking a few steps back. Stop.
👉 Repeat again - zoom in a little more, step back a little more… until you reach around 2X zoom.
👉 And that’s it! You’ll get this crazy Dolly Zoom shot where the background stretches and warps, but the subject stays the same.

Simple trick, cinematic results.

Shot this on the iPhone 16 Pro Max using the macro lens — you can also try 2x or 3x zoom for a tighter frame. Make sure to shoot in RAW for all that detail.

I used a massive 32” LG screen to project the Indian flag directly onto the eye, and after about 15–20 takes (and a lot of blinking in between 😅), we got the shot.

Edited on Lightroom Mobile, where the Lens Blur tool helped lock even more attention on the iris and the flag’s reflection.

Big thanks to Christina for staying still with saint-like patience, and to Jibu for lending me your screen for this experiment. xtinareynolds jibuvp #shotoniphone lovindubai 2025-08-15 12:41:42 Shot this on t.. 225 +66% 28 +71%

Light-paint the Indian 🇮🇳 Tricolour with just your phone. Save this.

1) What I used
– Phone + Lightroom Mobile (free)
– A second phone/tablet to display the flag (or a friend’s phone)
– Tripod or something steady + a plain dark wall

2) Prep the flag
– On device #2, download a high-res Indian flag and open it full-screen (landscape, saffron on top).
– Brightness 100%, screen timeout off.

3) Camera setup (Lightroom Mobile → Camera → Pro/Professional)
– Shutter: 1/3 sec
– ISO: 64
– WB: Auto (or ~5000K)
– Focus: Tap my face, then lock AE/AF (long-press)
– Timer: 3–5 sec
– Stabilize: phone on a tripod/ledge

4) Shoot (the “light-paint”)
– Hit the shutter → countdown starts.
– While the exposure opens, I swipe the flag screen (device #2) close to the lens (5–10 cm) in a smooth arc across the frame, keeping the stripes horizontal.
– I stay super still so my face stays sharp. The moving screen creates the blurred tricolour in front.

5) Quick fixes if it’s not perfect
– Flag too faint → move slower or raise screen brightness (or try 1/2 sec shutter).
– Flag too bright → move faster, lower brightness, or try 1/5 sec shutter.
– Face blurry → shorten shutter a bit (1/5–1/6 sec) and hold still.

6) Fast edit (Lightroom photo edit)
– Mask → Select Subject: +15–25 Sharpness, a touch of Clarity.
– Mask → Background: −10 to −20 Clarity for a soft glow.
– Basic: small tweaks to Exposure/Contrast, Color Mix to keep saffron/white/green natural.

7) Export & post
– Add subtle text, keep the story simple, and you’re done — pro-lens vibe from a phone.

Respect note: Use the flag respectfully (correct orientation, no distortion of meaning). This is a creative light-painting effect, not a replacement for the flag itself. 🇮🇳 2025-08-11 01:08:56 .. 312 +130% 21 +28%
