Can we just talk about how beautiful the Balkans are? This summer I traded the usual Euro hotspots like Italy, France, and Spain for something different: Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Albania.

I’ve always wanted to go back to Bansko, and living there this summer was exactly what I was looking for: a peaceful environment to regulate, a nomad community, and stunning nature and hiking right at my doorstep.

North Macedonia completely surprised me too. I hadn’t even planned to go, but people kept telling me how great it was. Lake Ohrid is just as dreamy as Lake Como, if not more, and without the crowds.

And Albania? Wow. From the turquoise seas in the south to the mountains of Theth National Park in the north, I didn’t find a single stretch of road that wasn’t ridiculously beautiful. And the people are so hospitable!

Part of the choice was financial (Eastern Europe is significantly cheaper), but it was also curiosity. And I’m so glad I followed it 🥰

Can I get a refund on that degree 😂

It still blows my mind that we live in a time where traveling the world with your dog full time is actually possible. Whether it’s landing a remote job abroad or creating your own online business, the opportunities to design your life around travel have never been more abundant ✈️

Back when I spent 5 years getting my degree, I never imagined this would be possible!

If I had waited for someone to come with me, I would have missed out on so many of the most beautiful experiences of my life. My solo travel journey started because I didn’t want to keep putting my dreams on hold, and it’s given me more than I could have ever imagined - confidence, friendships all over the world, and memories I’ll never forget.

Don’t wait for the “perfect time” or the “perfect person” … book the trip. Go live your life. The world is waiting for you. #solofemaletraveler #travelsologirl 2025-08-20 22:44:43 If I ha.. 2 -99% 1 -95%
And that’s on a summer of nature therapy 🌿

I first came to Bansko briefly for Nomad Fest in 2022, but I left feeling like I didn’t have nearly enough time to soak up the mountains. This summer, we finally made it happen.

My nervous system was so overwhelmed before coming here, and Bansko has been exactly what I needed — long hikes, quiet days at Polstorme, and endless time in nature. It’s surprisingly dog-friendly too; I was able to take Puglo almost everywhere with me (except the spa, of course).

And then there’s the community! reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones has been such a g joy 🥰

I definitely got a few raised eyebrows when I said I was spending my summer in a small town in Bulgaria… but there’s a reason so many nomads fall in love with this place.

We’ve crossed four continents, hiked mountain trails, and curled up in cozy Airbnbs from Spain to Thailand. No matter what life throws at me, having Puglo by my side makes it all feel a little lighter.

To be honest, when I pictured spending the summer in the mountains of Bulgaria, lounging on a Greek beach wasn’t exactly part of the plan.

But it turns out the coastline is just a three-hour drive from Bansko - so of course, I said yes to a spontaneous weekend road trip 🇬🇷

I’ve spent most of my adult life on the move. Here's how that happened:

It all started when I did a student work semester abroad in Dublin, Ireland and went backpacking in Europe. That trip kicked off my wanderlust, and I haven’t stopped chasing that feeling since.

I even chose my Bachelor of International Business program because it required studying abroad, so naturally, I flew as far away from home as possible and ended up in New Zealand.

After graduation, I got a government job as an HR advisor, but I was always scheming how to squeeze in one more trip. I used every single vacation day, long weekend, and stat holiday to explore somewhere new. But no matter how many trips I took, every time I came home, something felt off. I knew that wasn’t the life meant for me.

After a few heavy losses in 2017, I left on what I thought would be a one-year soul-searching backpacking trip in 2018. The plan was to get travel “out of my system”… but it only made me fall more in love with the world.

In 2019, I finally took the leap and became a full-time digital nomad. Yes, two months before the pandemic. The timing wasn’t ideal, but I still found ways to keep going. I found countries that would let me in, built a business I could run from my laptop, and just kept chasing the lifestyle that felt right.

Since then, I’ve slowed down a bit. I’ve been finding rhythm and roots in places like Puerto Vallarta while still making space for adventure. And last year, I finally stepped foot on my seventh continent in Antarctica, a dream I never imagined would actually come true when this all started.

Travel has shaped every part of who I am and even after 16 years, I still want more. 😍

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that two years ago, when I finally started digging deep into my relationship patterns, figuring out why I kept chasing men who were emotionally unavailable and waving red flags, was the same time Puglo came into my life.

The unconditional love I feel for this little creature is unlike anything I’ve experienced. And while yes, he’s a dog and not a romantic relationship, he’s taught me so much. He’s loyal, always by my side. He’s my adventure partner, up for anything whether it’s hiking, road trips, or lazy beach days. He’s gentle, forgiving, full of joy, and shows up for me every single day without conditions or mixed signals.

It’s a breath of fresh air to no longer find myself chasing situationships, and Puglo has set the bar high!

Has a dog helped heal your heart too?

Is Airbnb passive income?

Honestly, 90% of the time, yes. Once your Airbnb is set up, it can be a surprisingly passive business. With smart locks, automated pricing tools, and messaging systems, I often go days without needing to do anything, even while guests are staying.

Of course, properties have their challenges, and things can (and will) go wrong. But the cool thing about Airbnb is you can manage everything from your phone, as long as you have an internet connection, which is a blessing (and a curse) sometimes.

I managed my first Airbnb in Mexico solo for two years, even while living on the other side of the world, and looking back, that was pretty silly. Now that I run multiple Airbnb arbitrage units, I finally have support to help while I travel in different time zones. Even so, I love being a good host and I'll still answer messages even while raving with 70,000 people at Fusion Festival 😂

If you’re wondering whether Airbnb is a good source of passive income while living a nomadic life the answer is: absolutely, with the right systems.

With another year around the sun approaching, I’ve been reflecting on the things I used to thrive on in my 20s that now give me major anxiety

Back then it was night buses, hostel dorms, and 3 layovers just to save $40. Now? I’ll happily pay for the direct flight, roll in with a suitcase, and sleep in a room with a door that closes.

But some things haven’t changed, like saying yes to spontaneous plans with strangers I just met 10 minutes ago. Some habits are forever.

Puerto Vallarta: Season 4 Wrapped 🌴

I started calling them seasons because that’s exactly what they feel like - chapters in a series that keeps unfolding every time I return. From March to May, like clockwork, I always seem to end up back here. The backdrop is the same, but the energy, the people, and who I am within it all keeps evolving.

This season began in limbo. I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to stay. Relationships I once felt grounded in shifted, and that left me feeling unsteady. But sometimes what falls away is just clearing space, for deeper friendships, more clarity, and something completely new.

Beyond all these fun moments, there was a lot of hard work. I’m so proud of myself for pivoting when things didn’t go as planned. For listening to my intuition and building something entirely on my own. For betting on myself and proving I could make it happen. It has been challenging at times but also deeply empowering and rewarding. And I truly believe the best is still ahead.

No matter how far I stray, I always seem to find my way back home. 💕

Thanks to everyone who made this season so memorable 🫶

Two years ago, I was living out of a carry-on and feeling completely burnt out from over five years on the road.

So I made the decision to buy my first home in Mexico, and it changed everything.

Since then, I’ve fallen in love with real estate, design, and hosting.
And while I don’t have it all figured out, I’m building something that excites me every morning.

eleviahomes is the next chapter - a space to share what I’m learning about creating beautiful rentals, building passive income, and investing in homes around the world.

I flew across 4 continents, mostly in business class, for under $400. It's all thanks to travel hacking, using credit card points to book flights that would normally cost thousands. If you’re new to this world, here are 3 key strategies I use to fly like this:

1. Use transfer partners: When you earn points through flexible programs like Amex Membership Rewards, you can transfer them to airline partners like Delta or Aeroplan. This gives you way more value than booking directly through the Amex portal.

Example: I transferred Amex points to Delta and booked an Air France business class flight to Paris for 70K points — with five-course meals, champagne, and a lie-flat seat. Way better deal than paying cash or using Amex Travel.

2. Save business class points for long-hauls: I typically don’t waste points on short flights. For example, I flew Barcelona to Morocco roundtrip for $215. It was under 2 hours and didn’t need to be fancy. I save my business class redemptions for long flights (6+ hours), where I actually want to sleep and feel rested when I land.

3. Take advantage of welcome bonuses: This is the easiest way to rack up points fast. I highly recommend the Amex Platinum - it has a generous welcome bonus and lets you transfer to multiple partners like Aeroplan and Delta.

I also collect Aeroplan points through Canadian cards like TD and CIBC, many of them offer 20K points just for opening the card or making a single purchase. These are amazing for booking Star Alliance flights.

Bonus tip: Instead of searching each airline site individually, I use pointme to see award availability and redemption costs across tons of airline programs. It shows you which partners have the best deals, so you know exactly where to transfer your points.

If you’re American or Canadian and not travel hacking yet, this is your sign. I couldn’t afford to travel the way I do without points.
And now that I’m in my 30s, lie-flat seats are officially my favorite kind of luxury. 2025-05-20 01:04:03 I flew acro.. 66 -54% 15 -28%

Thailand property questions answered 👇

Y’all had a lot of questions after I posted about signing the sales contract for my condo in Thailand, so here are answers to the most common ones:

✈️ Am I moving to Thailand? Not yet! This is a pre-construction project that won’t be ready until the end of Q4 2026.

🌎 Will I split my time between Mexico and Thailand? Yes, but also many more places. My goal has always been to have multiple properties I can bounce between. Each year will look different depending on how life unfolds.

💼 Will I rent it out when I’m not there? 100%. It’s designed to be both my home and an income-generating asset.

🏠 Can foreigners own property in Thailand? Yes! Foreigners can own condos outright as long as the building stays within the 51% Thai ownership rule.

💰 How much does a condo in Thailand cost? It depends on the location, but Chiang Mai is very affordable. In this building, units range from 2.2M to 4.5M baht (about $64,000–$131,000 USD).
I paid 30% down and the rest is due on delivery.

🤔 Am I worried it won’t be completed? Honestly? No. The developer is one of the largest in Thailand with a solid reputation.
The contract is very buyer-friendly, and the down payment is low enough that, while it would suck if something went wrong, it wouldn’t ruin my life.

🐶 Can I visit? Absolutely!

Morocco - just wow! This country has been on my list for years, and experiencing it firsthand was even more magical than I imagined.

What stood out the most was the contrast between intricate details and vast landscapes. Walking through the medinas of Marrakesh and Fes felt like stepping into a living masterpiece - every doorway held a secret, every mosaic told a story, and the level of craftsmanship in every detail was mesmerizing.

And then once you cross the Atlas Mountains, there’s the Sahara. Miles and miles of golden dunes stretching as far as the eye can see, shaped by the wind into ever-changing patterns. Life still thrives here - nomadic families carrying on centuries-old traditions, camels trekking across the sand, and the quiet stillness of a place that humbles you instantly. Watching the sun set over the desert, followed by an endless sky of stars, will stay with me for a long time.

Experiencing all of this while immersing myself in the.experiential.therapist somatic retreat with some beautiful humans made it even more meaningful. Thank you traversejourneys for bringing us together ❤️

Hoi An / Da Nang photo dump: Is it just me, or is everyone in Vietnam right now?

Before leaving Asia, I took a little trip to Da Nang to see what it's all about since it seems to be popping off as a nomad hot spot, or at least all of Chiang Mai is going there (take my insights with a bag of salt since I was there for a week 😂)

I liked it! I don't know many cities these days where you can get a beachfront apartment for a few hundred dollars a month, the coffee is next level, and the local food is cheap and delicious (why yes, I'll have another Bahn mi).

Everything you need for a more than comfortable life is right there - even people to wash your hair! And when I say right there, I mean literally because the area ‘My AN where everyone stays is just a few blocks. Be careful booking accomodation ahead tho - a lot of apartments are infested with mold, and the pictures often look nothing like the place

The walkability was another plus for me (sidewalks in Asia?!). Still, I think after a while of living there, I'd get bored of the area. Granted, there are multiple events going on every day, so there is always something to do!

And then you have Hoi A just half an hour away! I found this way more touristy but cuter/less seedy, and it's nice to get a change of scenery. I didn't pick up much of a nomad vibe here, though; it felt more like backpackers

Was I in love? Not really, which is fine because Vietnam is not the best place for dogs as the dog meat industry is still happening there (one of the reasons I didn't bring Puglo), so unless that changes, I can't see us living there!

But it was fun to visit, and for nomads who can work in the time zone, it’s an easy and affordable place to base yourself for a few months!

Have you been to Da Nang? Let me know what you think!

Another beautiful Chiang Mai chapter in the books ❤️

Two months ago, I found myself in a really difficult place. I didn’t know where else to turn, but coming back to Chiang Mai—a place that’s always felt like a second home—gave me a chance to reset. I realized I needed the familiarity and comfort of this city, and it welcomed me with open arms.

Being here again reminded me just how special this place is, especially because of the people. I’m incredibly grateful to the friends who returned at the same time. We picked up right where we left off, as if no time had passed, which brought a lot of comfort. And to all the new connections I made—thank you for embracing me so quickly. One of my favorite things about Chiang Mai is how effortlessly strangers become friends. There’s a sense of community here that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Life in Chiang Mai feels richer. It’s easy to nurture yourself when wellness and good food is affordable, and there are endless cafes to work from or simply enjoy a good cup of coffee. Every day, there’s something happening—events and meet-ups for every interest under the sun, making it easy to find your people. Everything just feels accessible, like you can really live well without having to fight for it.

The past two months haven’t been without challenges. I’ve felt like I’m shedding a big part of who I was—letting go of the old to make way for a new, better version of myself. It’s been a process of growth, and I’m thankful to have had a supportive community around me that allowed me to just be. No expectations, no judgments—just space to evolve in my own time.

Chiang Mai will always hold a special place in my heart for being that space of healing and connection. Until next time. ❤️ 2025-01-27 16:46:00 .. 207 +43% 15 -28%
It would be so easy to post this video and tell you what a great year 2024 was. These moments of smiling and happiness are real, and when I close my eyes and think back to this year, this is what I want to remember.

But what you don’t see are the other moments. The anxiety, the heartbreak, the comparison, the loneliness, and the true moments of despair. There’s been plenty of those this year, too.

These quiet, heavy moments are the ones that force us to grow. They push us to find the beauty waiting on the other side.

Lately, I’ve been feeling incredibly annoyed with social media. It’s so easy to pretend online, to craft a perfect version of your life for the world to see. And yet, behind the screens, most of us are struggling with something we rarely share. I’ve found myself sucked into the noise—comparing my life to strangers, letting someone else’s highlight reel dictate how I feel about my day. It’s exhausting, and I know it’s not healthy for me right now.

So, I’m taking a break. I’ll be deleting the apps until at least the new year to give myself space to focus on what I truly want, without the noise.

After years of moving, creating, and chasing the next thing, I feel drained. I don’t have the same excitement about travel or motivation to post about it. Right now, I’m glad to be in Chiang Mai, a place where life feels slower, affordable, and a little easier. Living here gives me room to breathe and explore new ideas without so much pressure.

I feel like I’m on the edge of something big. A change is coming—I just can’t quite see it yet.

If you’ve read this far, I want you to know how much I appreciate you. Thank you for being here, for following my journey, and for the kind messages and support you’ve given me along the way. I don’t take it for granted.

I wish you all a beautiful Christmas and New Year, filled with joy, love, and the kind of peace that comes when you put yourself first. ❤️ 2024-12-23 21:35:52 .. 155 +7% 31 +49%

My full-circle journey into buying real estate has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life.
