![I’ve struggled with my mental health my whole life. But the one thing that’s always comforted me in times of hardship, has always been the great outdoors.
Our minds are extraordinary storytellers. They are constantly weaving elaborate narratives from our imagination until we’re several layers removed from what’s actually happening. And more often than I’d like to admit, I become trapped in webs of my own making.
But then I go outside, and I’m reminded that I’m just a silly little speck of dust that existed for an imperceptible amount of time... and somehow that’s the most comforting thing in the world. All my problems suddenly feel appropriately sized. The trees have been here longer than I’ve been alive and will be here long after I’m gone. The mountains don’t care about my deadlines. The sky doesn’t know about my anxiety and I am free.
I’m incredibly excited and proud to be partnering with adobe for Mental Health Awareness Month. This truly feels like a full-circle moment—as a child, I often felt
alone and leaned into Adobe tools where I could feel safe in worlds that I created. Now it feels like together, we’re creating space for others to find that same sense of safety and creative refuge.
This Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m learning to distinguish between what I’m thinking and what I’m experiencing. Sometimes the most radical thing we can
do is step outside our own narratives.

![I’ve been thinking a lot about the meaning of art making when AI can do it better and faster. And after marinating in this song, I know that AI may imitate the patterns of our expression but it cannot experience the dimension of time that gives art its soul.
This one is straight from the heart. Tbh I had an entirely different script and series that I spent all week working on. And for some reason, this song had me in a chokehold this morning and it kinda derailed all of my plans. It’s not the first time I’ve listened to it but this time it hit my whole being.
Anyways, listening to this song felt like a spiritual experience and everything I was working on felt like it was missing the point. I spent the rest of the day bathing in this song… and these are the musings that came out of it. Sometimes you just gotta surrender, I guess.

![The irony of this all... is that I’m actually terrible at jigsaw puzzles 💀
Yet somehow, I found flow while drawing/painting this one! Don’t ask me how long it took to film this 😌
In all seriousness, this was inspired by:
ashe.walker who recently guided me in getting back to flow 🥹 I’ve had a wounded relationship with drawing and painting for awhile and it was extremely difficult to get out of my head. Our weekend painting session was healing, and I’m finally rediscovering joy in visual art making again!
Also inspired by woahpaolo ‘s recent reel about over-engineering his videos in pursuit of being “artistic” and feeling held back by it. It made me think about leaning more intuitively into what I enjoy making, rather than letting my conscious mind drive toward what others might like.

![Last week I asked you guys “is creating when you’re burnt out an act of devotion? Or just another way we burn ourselves out?” And the answers surprised me! You guys left such thought provoking answers and it really helped me grok this question in a different way. I was also surprised that it was nearly a 50/50 split, tbh i thought more people would have said it was devotion. Ive concluded that devotion and burnout can feel quite similar… until it doesn’t. The difficulty is knowing the differences. Speaking of which, I think I’m recognizing that I need some rest. Soooo I’m taking your advice and taking a break from creating on here for a week or two. Making things should feel good. :)

![You can have everything, just not all at once.
Lately I’ve been prioritizing my career, friends and family… which means my health has suffered a little. I was in the best shape of my life at the end of last yr and since then I’ve lost a lot of strength/endurance.
Tbh I’m still frustrated but I’m learning to be realistic. Everything in life takes sacrifice.
So if u feel like you’re constantly playing catch up-it’s ok :) me too.
growing up means accepting that you will never hold all the pieces at once.
That everything meaningful requires attention, but attention is finite-so we rotate, we recalibrate, we let certain things slip so others can rise.
And then, we return.
We are not meant to be constant.
Expansion requires contraction.
Strength requires rest.
What feels like a step back is often just the space we need to grow.
There’s also no rush in picking up slack in the areas of your life that you’ve neglected.
It’s also ok if you don’t pick up the slack at all.
Your life won’t fall apart and you’re still worthy of love and rest and peace. Luv ya *hug*

![ADHD shaped so much of my identity from childhood into adolescence—so it’s not something I talk about much anymore.
I’m not ashamed of it but because adults around me used my diagnosis to define my capabilities, I, too, leaned on it as a crutch well into young adulthood. This really messed with my own sense of self so I decided to remove it from my external identity.
Still, it remains a huge part of who I am. I just no longer feel confined—by myself or by others—because of my diagnosis… so I wanted to share this piece of me with you :)
I rarely meet people who were diagnosed in childhood, so if that’s you, please say hi! I’d love to hear about your experience growing up with ADHD. And if you were diagnosed later in life, I’d still love to hear from you! How has ADHD impacted your lived experience?
