![6 years ago if you would’ve told me this is how my life would be after moving to korea, i never would’ve believed you.
well actually, i did have a couple friends tease me and said this would happen, but still thought they were crazy to even come up with this idea. hahaa silly me? 😅
because the way i spontaneously moved to korea in august 2019 after visiting 3 months prior should be studied. yeah straight up moved to a foreign country, knowing nothing about the language, the food, the culture, the history, ZERO, only that i knew i felt safer there than i did in america.
then covid hit and it only made sense to stay in korea. then i ended up meeting big won on tinder in 2021 and had to let my momma know, yeah girl i ain’t coming back. 🤭 (noooooo time soon at least)
and the rest is history. 🩵

![2228 days of living in korea and 100 days of being our little won’s parents. 🩵
in korean culture, 100 days (백일) is a special milestone. back in the day the infant mortality rate was so high that surviving the first 100 days was considered a true blessing!
traditionally, babies weren’t taken outdoors until after their 100th day (so different from America!). since this summer was so hot, staying mostly inside wasn’t too hard… I lowkey did get scolded by an ajumma in a flower shop when I went out with baby j before his 100 days tho. 😅
but here’s the wild part, if you do the math, a baby’s 100th day usually falls on their conception date. so this time last year i definitely was like, “oooopsies! well if I get pregnant then it’s God’s plan,” and just shrugged it off. now here we are, exactly one year later, God’s plan. ✨
p.s. i promise he does smile (last picture is proof) he just was NOT feeling his little hanbok + pictures and he wanted to make that very clear. 😅]()

![between the genetics, my active lifestyle (and being little miss God’s favorite 😇), pregnancy was a breeze and so far, the c-section recovery has been too.
but the real mvp? the south korean government for funding my 1-on-1 postpartum pilates classes. hunnnnyyy… out of allll the workouts I’ve done (even other pilates classes), nothing compares, whew!
my ultimate goal is to get back to sprinting. I may be in my 30s (and didn’t play sports growing up) but my dream side quest is to compete in a 100m race here in korea next year. so stay tuned!

overall i’m so grateful for the wonderful prenatal care and birthing experience i had in korea, and i’m so enjoying being mommy to my precious baby boy.
