“Can’t all tech just co-exist to truly reshape education for all?” That’s exactly the kind of conversation I had with Mazen Abdulla, Head of Google for Education and it really stuck with me.

The Google Educators Group (GEG) UAE meetup at the Google office in Dubai was a reminder of what’s possible when passionate educators, innovators, and thought leaders come together with a shared purpose.
From AI to Google certification pathways - the energy in the room made it clear: education isn’t a solo effort. It takes all of us, working together.

Huge thanks to Eng. Israa Lulu for putting this whole thing together - such a solid initiative. And to Reshma Razack, thanks for the invite and for tagging along this journey with me.

Always great catching up with you, Ms. Ala’a Hussein and no surprise seeing you up on the leaderboards, pushing this forward with purpose. And finally got to meet Murtaza Sinnarwala in person - after so many online exchanges.

Ofcourse, special thanks to marssys_digital , a Google Partner in Education, for making this possible and supporting schools on this journey.

Loved connecting with so many passionate educators and leaders. 🤍 2025-06-23 14:03:49 “Can’t .. 582 -84% 25 -98%
Let me start with my experience first.

Not all positions require BEd.

Subject teaching positions like IT/ Design and Technology teacher, Electronics, Aeronautics, Mechanical, Food and Technology (Yes, these schools do hire such teaching positions) and they do not ask for teaching qualifications.

Rather, they focus more on technical knowledge more than teaching. (Teaching experience is a bonus though)

Salaries depends on the nationalities - higher scale limits shown above are usually for the teachers that hold western passports or native speakers and lower scale limits shown above are for other nationalities.

You could apply through their respective websites and also turn their job alerts on through their respective Linkedn pages as they do frequently post their vacancies there.

Ministry of Education usually post their vacancies through their websites whereas Institute of Applied Technology and ADNOC schools frequently post it over their Linkedin pages (applications are received through their websites too)

I’ve always wanted to contribute to the field of STEM education, and being invited and recognized for it—while having the opportunity to be part of such an inspiring community—is something I’m truly grateful for.

A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Buddhavarapu Narasimha Ravi Kumar , Chief Financial Officer of Centena Group, for honoring me with this memento. Also, a huge thanks to CEO Mr. Nilesh Korgaonkar  for his initiative and continuous contribution to STEM education through Atlab.

Watching young innovators tackle real-world challenges with creativity and problem-solving skills reminded me why I’m so passionate about this field. Moments like these reaffirm the importance of nurturing curiosity and critical thinking in the next generation.

Is adding teaching certifications helpful ?

The answer is definitely yes.

Here are the few reasons why you should include👇

— They mainly demonstrate your dedication to the teaching profession.

— They also let recruiters know that you do have the essential teaching skills and knowledge required.

— It also helps you to feel more prepared and confident to attend interviews and also to step into the classroom.

2. For Experienced teachers:

— Can be added to your professional development portfolio’s.

— Help you to keep up with current skills, tools and with the latest teaching methodologies.

— It also helps to boost your credibility.

— Can help open doors to promotions, leadership roles or other teaching opportunities.

Here’s how you can use your engineering degree to become a tech/ICT teacher without any teaching degree: 👇

1. Leverage your existing tech skills:
- Determine which of your current skills (programming, 3D design, problem-solving) are transferable to teaching technology.
- More importantly try to learn how to program using block/text based coding and the current coding softwares used in schools/curriculum.
- Bonus: Try to learn various AI/ML platforms currently taught in schools.

2. Learn pedagogy skills:
- Start by enrolling in free online teaching courses or attend webinars or at least watch YouTube videos on educational pedagogy and classroom management.
- Best way is to start volunteering to teach coding online or attend technology workshops at local schools or online platforms.
 - If possible, look for opportunities to work as a substitute teacher in technology classes to gain classroom experience.

 3. Build Your Teaching Portfolio:
 - Develop a few lesson plans or units that you can showcase to potential recruiters.
 - Include any volunteer teaching, tutoring, or workshops you’ve led in your portfolio.

4. Networking and professional development:
 - Network with teachers/leaders and join local teaching groups in telegram or whatsapp.
 - Attend educational technology conferences and workshops to connect with other educators and stay updated.

Bonus tips:
* Practical Application: Emphasize practical application of technology in your teaching methods.
* Be Adaptable: Be open to different teaching environments (e.g., in-person, online, hybrid).
* Mentorship: Seek out mentors in the education field to guide and support your transition.

Steps on how to get the editable resume in your dm ⬇️
1. Comment ‘CV’
2. Follow the page so that the dm automation doesn’t fail.
3. Wait 5 sec for the link to drop in your DM’s.
4. Download the word document to your computer and personalize it according to your skills and experience.

Firstly, Remember that target person for your resume is not Hiring Manager but Recruiters and ATS scanners.

So design your resume to pass these two.

For ATS & Recruiters ensure following things:

— ATS score greater than 75%

— Try to keep resume 1 page. Point is to show more details in lesser space.

— Add not more that 5-6 bullet points under any headings and keep it concise.

— Make sure to bold and highlight important numbers and texts to grab attention.

— Quantify your work, Try to showcase your impact in terms of numbers (Like Improved model accuracy from 70% to 90%)

— Use Action verbs (Developed, Led, Achieved, etc.) in writing bullet points and try to avoid grammatical errors.
Try to add keywords as per the Job descriptions for better match.

— For Experienced, If you have good academics score then only mention CGPA in Education section otherwise can omit.

— For Experienced, keep order for headings like - Name and linkedin links, , Summary, Skills, Experience, Education, Projects, Achievements, Certifications.

— For Freshers - Keep Education before the Experience(Internships/ volunteering) section rest order remains the same.

— Once prepared you can get your resume reviewed by experts/online scanners to be confident.

— Clean and simple format is the best.

PS: This is just a sample template to help you on how you can make an impressive teaching resume. Feel free to add/highlight/delete based on your skills and experience. ✨

Do this👇

Never underestimate the power of LinkedIn. These are various opportunities I got through LinkedIn. In fact, I got my very first job in Dubai as a complete fresher just through LinkedIn.

Here’s how to leverage your LinkedIn profile for a successful job switch or search:

— Optimize Your Profile: Complete your profile with a professional photo, catchy headline, and keyword-rich summary.

— Network Smartly: Connect with fellow educators, school administrators, and industry professionals. Engage with their content and join relevant teaching/ school groups.

— Explore Jobs Tab: Utilize LinkedIn’s job search feature, set alerts, and customize applications for teaching positions.

— Request Recommendations: Ask for recommendations from former colleagues, professors, or principals to boost credibility.

— Engage with Content: Share valuable insights, articles, works and achievements related to education/ or the field you are interested to work in to stay visible.

— Be Proactive: Reach out to recruiters and hiring managers directly with personalized messages or referring to application ID. There is no wrong in trying. You never know who might respond to help you.

— Stay Active: Update your profile regularly and stay engaged with your network.

— Stay Positive and Persistent: Keep refining your approach and stay motivated throughout your job search journey.

With these steps, you can make the most out of LinkedIn to land your next job role!

Save it and share it with friends who you think would find it helpful. 🚀

Here’s how to stand out to succeed👇

🚀 Ensure your CV format is compatible with ATS so that your CV gets screened in. Most organizations/schools use ATS to filter out CVs, so please put more effort into this.

🚀 Make sure your CV highlights your teaching strategies, skills, achievements, and impacts. The more your CV shows that you are aware of various teaching strategies and skills required, the more chances you have to get an interview.

🚀 Apply directly through school career pages and LinkedIn, and reach out to current employees for referrals—this approach often works well.

🚀 Highlight measurable successes in your CV, such as 2024-06-20 17:55:12 .. 340 -90% 18 -99%

A colleague and I had the same qualifications, same amount of teaching experience and the same skills and also worked in the same position.

We both applied at the same time for a Computer Science teaching position on Linkedin when we saw a vacancy.

A few days later, she got an interview call from that school, but I didn’t.

We both had the same level of experience, same level of qualifications yet only her CV was screened in.

The difference? Our cover letters and CV’s.

This experience taught me the importance of a well-written cover letter and CV.

But let’s be honest, writing them isn’t easy for most of us.

That’s where Cover Letter Copilot comes in! It is a free AI app designed to help you draft cover letters efficiently.

Here’s how to use it smartly (and what not to do with it):

1. Go to coverlettercopilot(dot)ai and click on “Get Started for Free” to create a free account.

2. Type in the title of the job you want to apply for and the name of the company. Then upload your CV.

Finally, copy the job description and paste it in the “Job Details” box. Click on “Generate” and the Copilot will draft a cover letter for you.

3. This is a helpful draft but you don’t want to submit it as is.

Instead, copy the draft and paste it in an MS Word document.

Pay attention to the structure of the letter. The first paragraph is introduction, the second shows why you are a good fit for the job, and the third is meant to wrap everything up.

Keep the structure in place and write your own sentences. You can use the sentences from the draft as inspiration, but don’t use them as they are.

AI-generated sentences lack personality. In a cover letter, you want to showcase your personality.

4. The Copilot can generate three types of cover letters:
• The three paragraph letter
• Cover letter that summarizes your qualities
• And a cover letter that showcases your career highlights.

Generate a couple different cover letters. Use their structure to write your own content.

Share and save it for future reference. 🔗

Here are the examples⬇️

⚠️First thing first, while adding EdTech tools in your teaching CV can demonstrate your innovative and effective technical proficiency, it’s also important to make sure you just Google about these tools and know the basic idea on what and how they are used before adding it to your CV.

Also, you don’t need to add all of the given EdTech tools mentioned.

Just pick and choose based on what you would be comfortable with or based on your use in the class.

You could mention it under tools used or even a description on how you have used it to make your CV more powerful.

1️⃣One way to add this to your CV is by specifying a brief summary of technology integration skills.

For eg:

✅Interactive Learning: Proficient in using AI tools like Curipod and Kahoot to create engaging, interactive lessons and quizzes, providing real-time feedback to enhance student participation.

✅Assessment and Feedback: Experienced in utilizing AI tools like Question Well and EduAid.ai to generate diverse assessments and provide real-time feedback.

2️⃣Another way to integrate this information is by specifying how you implemented innovative technology integration in your class.

For example:

✅Supported diverse learning styles with AI-driven personalized learning paths using tools like Khan Academy and EduAid.ai, ensuring students mastered concepts at their own pace.

✅Created educational videos and screencasts using the AI-driven editing tool Screencastify, making content more accessible and engaging for students.

✅Used Google Classroom for efficient classroom management and streamlined assignment distribution and to reduce administrative workload.

Feel free to edit and adjust to showcase your role in driving student success and engagement using technology.

Share it to your teacher friends who are looking for a teaching job.

Here’s the exact plan
for you that I followed for getting a teaching job without any experience nor any teaching qualifications in Dubai.

1. Expanded network
Start by sending 10-15 LinkedIn request per day (with notes) to people you look up to.
Tip: You are most likely to get a reply from a person who is active (you can check their activity tab under their profile) and also who doesn’t have thousands of followers (their inbox is usually clogged).
There are some great free AI tools like ChatGPT and Google chrome extensions like Pathrise Career Connect that can help you find various organizations contact and informations.

2. Familiarize EdTech and AI classroom tools

With the pace at which AI is growing, the competitive teachers will be the one who can efficiently integrate EdTech tools into their learning and teaching process. Get familiar with recent AI EdTech tools like Diffit, Curipod to get your CV more impressive.

3. Polish interview skills

Teaching interviews are very different from tech/coding interview. Go on YouTube and search “How to crack teaching interview jobs” to review the most frequently asked questions in teacher interviews. Also, make sure you learn for subject specific written test too.
One of my personal favorite is pocketfulofprimary ‘s “Sample interview answers for teachers” in YouTube which I used to ace my first teaching interviews

4. Mass apply
With UAE being very competitive market, it is not the time to be picky when it comes to applying. Apply everywhere - even if you only match 60% of the job description. You can choose and reject companies after you have multiple offers.

5. Last and the most commonly said - Persistence and Consistency
Remember, you might not get replies and would get many rejections. For every 100 applications, 95 of them got rejected. That’s hard but keep in mind that you only need 1 offer.
Keep applying, reach out to recruiters through LinkedIn and keep improving!

Save this for future reference. 🔗

Innovation knows no bounds when fueled by collaboration and passion!

When I first shared the story of a student in my class, navigating the world solely through sign language, my colleagues, Hudha Habeeb and Saranya Dhanil, and my niece, Nura Tamton, immediately rallied behind the cause.

Together, we came up with a plan to improve her communication and learning experience with the help of artificial intelligence.

Countless brainstorming sessions and heartfelt conversations with the student, her sign-language interpreter, and teachers revealed the challenges she faced daily. It was evident: traditional methods were not enough.

Together, with the goal to instill inclusivity and improve the learning process for people like her, we came up with an innovative solution: an AI-powered Emirati sign language translator – ‘Sirah’, which means ‘journey or path’ towards empowerment and inclusiveness.

We not only secured the first prize in the ‘Innovate a Solution’ competition organized by Emirates Schools Establishment but also realized that with an innovative vision, collaborative dedication, and the transformative potential of AI, we could make a real difference in people’s lives – a feat we previously believed only top minds could achieve.

Our journey doesn’t end here. We’re committed to making ‘Sirah’ accessible to all students like her, ensuring no one is left behind.

A heartfelt thank you to the Training and Development department at ESE for providing us with the platform to make meaningful contributions and create solutions that have a positive impact on society.

Excited to share our success and even more thrilled for what lies ahead! 🏆 #innovateasolution #firstprize #teamwork #innovation #empowerment #collaborationforchange 2024-03-07 16:14:04 .. 174 -95% 41 -97%

Webinar alert ❗Please read the caption and write 'Yes' if you would like to join. 🙌

I was totally immersed in this book for the past few weeks. The way this book shows a simple incremental plan for putting your career into perspective and how much you can control it, if you know how; provided me a completely new mindset on how to make a meaningful contribution in any field of work.

The one thing that caught my attention is that the author, Dr. Stephen R. Convey, has stressed the importance of 'teach to learn' after each and every chapter in this book. He emphasized that the best way to learn from this book is to teach the content to someone else. This led me to come up with a small webinar.

I have seen many frnds within my circle approaching me to either review their CV or suggest ways to help them get a job. I'm no expert in this field, but I was thinking why not I combine my little experience , knowledge and the teachings from this book to conduct a small virtual meeting to help people around me in whatever way I can. In Sha Allah.

Whether you are looking for a job or want to make the job you already have more meaningful and also want to know how to make a resume that actually works for you, please write 'Yes' in the comments section below. I'll contact you with the details through dm. I'll be more than happy to answer all of your questions if you have any. ☺️💕

⚠️Please note that this webinar is completely free and this is just to share my knowledge I have gained so far from my experiences and learnings.
