- Big thanks to my patient who bravely gave me consent sharing her complication from Sculptra injections. With all the latest social media fear on #dermalfillers, patients are jumping on the bandwagon of “regenerative aesthetic medicine”. Yes it is great to be curious about safe and effective therapies such as polylactic acid (aka Sculptra) or other biostimulation injections, it is NOT so great when providers are carelessly shooting people up with “not a filler” leading to complications. We are in the process of treating my patient’s nodules. I would like to thank her for allowing me to share her adverse reaction so more people can be warned about the danger of not seeing qualified / experienced doctors and the danger of not knowing product limitations. FYI - I personally LOVE #Sculptra - it is one of my top choices for collagen and facial rejuvenation. It is just not safe for certain areas of the face. #boardcertifieddermatologist 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 To see me as a private patient in my office located in South Miami or in University of Miami Hospital, please contact the scheduling line for the Dr Philip Frost Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, University of Miami or request a consultation online. . ☎️ 305-243-6704 Email cosmeticderm@med.miami.edu 📍Miami & South Miami, Florida, USA . 🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹🔹 👻 Snapchat: drshasahu 🐦 Twitter: drshasahu . - Life lately… the first quarter of 2025 slipped away just like that, unlike the previous years, I didn’t make any big plan or have any big aspiration for this year. For the past few months, I’ve been focusing on the small stuff, the mundane details that make up every day life, evolving around family, work and my own wellbeing. And looking back at the past few months, I realize that I am more at peace and fulfilled when I am just doing my best for each day, rather than impatiently waiting for the next big thing. It has taken me so long to figure out that if we take on all the repetitive/ small steps (such as getting kids ready for school, taking care of stuff at work, going home to do it all over again as a mom) that we have take throughout the day as a #privilege, we can perhaps feel more at ease and be better at what we do. And hopefully in the long run, that leads to personal growth and creativity. Things that make me #happy and #content in the past few months : seeing smiles on my patients when they feel good about themselves, doing challenging procedures without complications, working with people who make me feel supported and appreciated, getting the chance to share what I know with residents/ colleagues and learn from them. And the things that keep me going: family time outside of the normal school/home hustle, knowing that I am doing my best to support my kids’ growth into #good people, having a partner that share my vision for life Lastly #dailyroutines that I have been following in the past few months to stay #healthy and #well: 1. Eat before 7pm and go to bed as early as I can (ideally 10pm the latest) 2. Be consistent with my supplements 3. Work out 5-6 times a week but not stress about missing days if I’m on vacation 4. Eat more protein (lol this has been a struggle!!!!!!!!) 5. Started oil - pulling (swish a tablespoon of coconut oil every morning ) 6. Simplified my #skincare routine to key #activeingredients 7. Gratitude meditation daily 2025 has been really tough for a lot of us. I am sharing this not to be tone deaf or show-off but in the hopes to inspire some of you to focus on taking the small steps ✨
- Just like that ... summer 2025 is a wrap. Hiking through the Bernese Oberland was the highlight- still can't believe we were able to get the kids ditch their devices and learn to enjoy the outdoors. It took a couple days of "conditioning" but so worth it!!! The lesson for me was that never underestimate how versatile our kids can be! Now back to school, back to routine and before you blink, it will be Halloween, Thanksgiving and end of 2025 ... wishing everyone a smooth start of new school year 📚👓 #backtoschool #summer #hiking
