![One of my favourite times of the year, doing one of my absolute favourite things. To feed, to host, to eat, to yap 🤪
Homes have always been safe spaces for me. To grow, to learn, to connect, to be weird, and to truly be ourselves. Building this home and extending it beyond our little family unit has always meant everything. When times are rough for friends or family, I want them to know this house will hold them, will feed them.
Knowing I’ve built a home not only just for us, but also for others to lean on, is deeply gratifying. This Denbigh dates was hosted for a group of POCs to come together, share, and connect. We spoke about big, poignant things, issues we often face in our personal lives and never once felt judged or pressured.
I feel so grateful to be able to create spaces that feel safe, both physically and emotionally. It’s really, really special.
So proud of this little community here. People who want to be open, vulnerable, and generous. I can’t wait to have more of you round 🍯🥹

Yes agains -
1. Door curtains are legit one of my favorite things, because why have a door if it’s not really needed? This is lined double sided and just adds a touch of visual privacy when it’s in use.
2. Demolishing the chimney breast was a bit of a no brainer. Gaining the floor space back to make this room more user friendly while we route all our plumbing through as our boiler is in the loft, has been super handy.
3. I love an occasional chair ☺️ and this Fifield chair from nextofficial and lauraashleyuk makes my laundry days that much better.

![Same view a couple of times? Sweet, sweet living room 😌
This post is a celebration of those renovations that were gut wrenching and soul fulfilling in equal measure. You’ll see my people here, the ones who helped me through the first months after buying this house. Helping me strip wallpaper, demolish plasterboard, move boxes, and letting me lean on them unconditionally. I freaking love them.
You’ll also see how this room became our bedroom, our office, our living room in its many states and forms. I’ll never forget the time I was in a meeting with bare plaster walls and half hanging cornices behind me, not realising how obvious it was that I was mid renovation. My colleague got off the call and genuinely tried to figure out if he could start a crowdfunding campaign in the office for me because he was so concerned.
Transforming homes is an incredibly emotional process, one I relish both in the highs and in the lows. Because god, it’s amazing when you get there 😮💨

![💋 Our powder room deep dive 💋
Yes agains -
1. Bringing in natural light into this room was important to me, so this door was a great compromise. I also love curtains so to be able to soften the space while adding privacy, is a win win to me.
2. Plaster in extractor valves- say no more 😌
3. I wanted to nod at the feminine association to powder rooms and these finishes and materials were chosen to really turn the perception of dingy toilet on its head.
Next time -
1. Probably wouldn’t do exposed copper taps again, unless I have a flow valve attached to it too. Still looks great though!

![I can only wish for a year as good as this in 2025 ❤️
All the things that changed my brain chemistry this year:
1. Designing and creating spaces to watch them materialize is the best thing about what I do. And this time, it was my own home.
2. Learning new skills and meeting new people along the way.
3. When friends write notes like this.
4. Hiking in places like these. This was Mauritius.
5. Cooking and eating out of the kitchen that I designed, but most importantly, feeding the people I love from it too.
6. Kyrgyzstan.
7. Denbigh dates. They always make my heart cry.
8. Growing flowers from seed and watching them bloom- has been the most humbling experience.
9. Loving my garden and watching it give the love back in return.
10. Witnessing my friends love in a French chateau in a dress like this.
11. Swimming with whales! 🐋 there is nothing in the world quite like being in the blue with these creatures. It’s one of those ‘is this real?’ moments that I can only wish everyone has a chance to experience.
12. My entire French Polynesia trip 🇵🇫
13. Sending Den to someone for the first time and hearing their feedback.
14. Ending the year with more clients than I could’ve imagined. And with clients I’m proud to have.
15. My live BBC radio interview.
20 slides can’t possibly capture this full year but thank you to everyone who came in and been a part of my year in one way or another, I am so grateful of this little life 🥹
