HOUSE UPDATE! As anyone who has moved knows, it takes a long time to get things sorted and it’s two steps forward and one step back BUT we are getting there. Cushions and a new throw. Can we take a moment to appreciate that they are colour 😱 Along with some very, VERY old linen neutral ones. hmhome do the best cushions and throws (I have no idea why I said rug. Absolute buffoon). Sofa from joalexanderhomeandgarden has been possibly my favourite thing this Summer along with my olive plants and their pots. THE COOKER HOOD HAS GONE. But I’m still having a light related nightmare. Going for ONE large one. I’ve ordered it but am now having a wobble. Ffs. Muppet. 🤦‍♀️ But new lampshade incoming. TRY ON in intermarche I know. Not intended at all but I forgot to bring my hansine cardigan with me and for dinner tonight, needed something for over my dress. And we are in… FRANCE! Flew to Tours, picked up the rental car, stopped at Auchan, bought all the saucisson and then headed to… coming tomorrow. THIS WORKS… or does it? Another curl set of shampoo, conditioner and styling products - this time from trepadoracurltherapy (these were sent to me to try with zero expectation to post as it could have gone horribly wrong!!) … Pr product/AD)) NOW I have been using a leave in conditioning cream followed by a foam/mousse and a gel. This was a serum and a foam and I didn’t know which order to put them on (couldn’t find it anywhere) and I was slightly worried that it did feel quite dry. BUT turns out, I had to trust the process and so far so good! Also - LOVING the sharkbeautyuk SHARK GLAM which - as well as all the straightening and smoothing tools, there is a rather excellent diffuser (and hair dryer obvs) STILL having a fringe/parting dilemma and that bl**dy curly bit at the front which I ALWAYS recurl before drying but it still has a life of its own. One of these - the Leave In Perfecting Cream I’ve been using for a while now (on straight and curly hair - ditto the shampoo and conditioner) but I cannot wait to see the results from the Pitta Growth Serum which I will admit, I was really sceptical about using. Yesterday was one of those days when I needed a reminder of this. I was being an absolute tool, feeling sorry for myself and being a miserable cow. The worst thing is, I know I’m doing it and HATE myself when I’m like that. As I used to say to my kids when they were little and came out of school moaning and whinging… “right, let’s leave the stinky attitude here please” 🤣 I’ve left mine in yesterday and today I am focusing on the small wins that are important. My skirt of the season so far…and how I’ll be styling it. And my obsession with stripes continues. 6yr old tee that has been one of my most worn items of clothing over the past 7yrs with new stripes for the sitting room. A 6 hr round road trip (which I have to say I LOVED!!) to spend the day with one of my favourite clients centremk and a trip to - yes it’s hm (they have a GREAT home shop there!) to buy the blanket and cushions that sold out immediately online. Making More From Your Wardrobe. A shirt and jeans but three different ways to style them, by just changing your jacket and shoes. It’s not about buying a whole new load of stuff, it’s sometimes remembering what you’ve got and putting your basics together with maybe one new addition - be it a pair of loafers or a trench? It also means that your wardrobe can work harder for you and the same basics can work for very different occasions. What I wear in Suffolk and London on a day to day basis is quite different but by thinking about changing up the look of my outfit with alternative footwear and outerwear, I can get more out of the pieces I love. LIGHT HELP AGAIN!! Update on the shade for over the island coming soon but in the meantime, I need a shade for my Kaiser Leuchten vintage floor lamp. I bought this from ebay_uk (it wasn’t cheap but I was a STEAL compared to what they sell for if you can get hold of one - it does need rewiring and a new bayonet but the electrician has said that’s no probs) BUT it needs a shade. And it needs to be sizeable. Sooo the options so far are 1) Large Neutral Shade rowenandwren 51cm 2) Ochre velvet nextofficial 45cm but OOS 3) Ochre Velvet nkukulife but again only 45cm 4) Ochre velvet nextofficial 45cm but not as tall 5) Ochre Print etsyuk 50cm AND the one I really want but can’t find AT ALL online.
