This session brought me to tears 😭 This beauty hasn’t been able to move in over a year due to health issues. She just wanted to feel alive again. It was a Tuesday night and she was going absolutely nowhere but home to bed, but she asked me if she could come over for a glam session. This is my aunt she was visiting for the week with my uncle and so even though I am usually asleep at 8 o’clock, lol I said, of course my love come over let’s have some fun. I really had no idea how much it would mean to her. And after two hours of laughing and talking and glamming, there was nothing but joy and some tears. It’s crazy how much getting your Hair And Makeup can make you feel alive! It’s crazy how much we underestimate the power of “looking good” and how much looking good in the mirror makes you “feel good” on the inside. This appointment blessed my heart more than it blessed hers I’m sure of it!! There are so many days that I feel sick or depressed that I don’t wanna get out of bed and I literally force myself to brush my hair and do my make up. Put some cute clothes on and get outside. I almost lost it! After my class in Texas, I returned home to face one of the most challenging times of my life. My only daughter was ill and needed her momma—while I was dealing with my own struggles too. Mental health and past trauma are real, and pain doesn’t simply disappear. This was our first summer together since 2019, and despite the hardships, it became one of the most beautiful experiences. We both learned to heal and grow in our relationship, even while facing our battles. As a full-time entrepreneur, it’s so easy to put work before family, telling myself it’s for their future. But in truth, all our children really want is YOU. I consciously put business aside to focus on my daughter, who truly embodies the “Destiny” in “Destiny and Light.” This summer opened my eyes to the importance of balance. It took everything that happened to remind me to keep the main thing the main thing: my family. I’m grateful that prioritizing my loved ones didn’t harm my business; it’s about to enter one of our busiest wedding seasons! I’m thankful for the Lord’s provision during this time, and for my incredible team and family who supported me as I navigated it all. As I reflect, I want to share a heartfelt “No Labor Day” wish to all my boss ladies! While on this day I will not labor… starting tomorrow it is full force season!!!
