![This hits home for everyone who grew up in Miami. I grew up on a sailboat, all weekends & school breaks were on our boat. Our kids follow in our footsteps, how beautiful- a sailboat. Now we are in a state of shock. There is still a daze, a heavy fog, weight on my chest- I am trying to be light for Nava, while deeply sad and grieving for my dear friend’s loss of her child. I’m still in the same place as I was a few days ago. Yesterday was the funeral, the temple overflowed with people. Ari was the brightest light, funny and loved by all. Her parents heartbroken. People want to make sense of this. The barge should not have been there. The little girls had no time to jump or miraculously be rescued. There was heroism that day. Counselors jumped in the water to save the girls. The drag and undertow of the sailboat going under was too strong. This was a terrible horrible tragedy. Send love and light to the families. There is a petition, laws need to be changed. As of now anyone can drive a boat in Miami. … one of Ari’s favorite songs.]()

![I don’t have words that express the last few days. I am beyond grateful that Nava was not hurt. My heart breaks for the girls who did not make it. My heart is broken for my friend whose daughter is on life support. My heart aches for the innocence that was lost for Nava and her friends who witnessed the unimaginable. This touches all of us who grew up here, on the water. The pace that our city is growing, the amount of boats on the water, the barge in the wrong place. It was a sailing camp, this was not suppose to happen. I am grateful and broken, I am reaching for light and joy so I can heal my daughter- so I can be present for my family & community. My prayers are constant.]()

![Today I saw greatness- I had the privilege of taking jaggereffs_ class, Strength & Splits. When you know a gifted movement person & they are commited to sharing their gifts - drills, how to get to the places of excellence, I am always grateful. They share the ways to get the magic. Honestly, it’s always hard work. We see the finished product, handstands, splits, getting barreled, sprints… all of the sports, we think it’s natural or they are flexible or… we make excuses so we don’t have to try to get there. I want to get there, I always want to keep trying. For me it’s the journey, it’s learning about my body, it’s the attempt.
Lately, I’ve had successes. I have 10 sec holds in my handstands, I’ve been selecting my waves & going up and down the line. Sure, I am not anywhere near aubrymarie or suazo__coach but I get to taste a bit of the magic. I get to hold the handstand and ride the wave. What it looks like will be refined through… TAPAS (the work). I love you - ♥️ the journey]()

![There is so much that you can’t see in this series of photographs. You don’t see how scared I get when I paddle out, when I get sucked under by a wave, when I cry because it’s all too much. I am not sure why I keep at it. I certainly am not a natural, all of it is hard. What I love is being in the ocean. I love that I am forced to focus. I love the challenge. This trip I improved - I worked really hard to get to the next level, small tweaks, where my gaze is, where my back arm goes, looking for the green… small things - subtle, elegant, refined - that’s my goal, I am far from there- but that’s where I am headed. ![There is always a wave of emotions when I complete a training. Then another set of feelings when I leave Nosara. We created a little niche in time in a magical setting. We dove into yoga and bathed in the ocean. There was so much goodness and beauty. I am forever grateful. ![This was like therapy. Last week I was invited to do a podcast for manningsumner “Big Dawgs” w anacapozzoli & bodygoalswellness_dbcfit. I think the craziest part was when Manning said - “Don’t ya’ll feel hot” he’s southern and not hot in temperature. We all said no… turns out we all grew up performing- we were always judged, critiqued. It was a moment of sisterhood & empathy. We shared so many things on the podcast, it was real, there were tears & breakthroughs - it was awesome. Thank you Manning for seeing the sparkle in all of us. ![I can’t believe what we’ve created. This morning I got to take yoga from nikkie_rox who slayed the sequence, playlist & most important DHARMA TALK.
