In the evening 🌙 : 💦 cleanse face with either salicylic acid (La Roche-Posay Effaclar 2% Sal acid cleanser) or benzoyl peroxide (CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser) and okay to use on body as well if you have body acne but be sure to rinse off your benzoyl peroxide product well and use white towels (BPO can bleach towels, clothes, linens)
🤩apply a pea sized amount of a retinoid (adapalene 0.1% gel by Differin) to the entire face and then moisturize

Had to post this after our discussion in the other video regarding medical vs cosmetic services. The scope of what insurance will cover seems to narrow by the day and we as doctors have to adapt to take care of our patients while explaining these changes to them.
Huge thanks to my staff and team members (medical assistants) for working hard 💪🙏at getting essential prescriptions approved for our patients. Insurance denials require more and more time on the phone and filling out paperwork, and even more office visits to fulfill their requirements- something needs to change!

👉I don’t usually jump right on posts like this but I think it is good that patients ask questions and doctors clear up the confusion especially when it comes to medical vs cosmetic dermatology and insurance coverage vs direct out of pocket services.
👉Even if we do not do any procedure that day, it is not a quick quote or straightforward answer to her question about telangiectasia on the nose. Also, if one intends to use their insurance for the visit, not all skin issues are fair game and it is good that doctors set their boundaries on timing and pricing for additional time spent talking about out of pocket elective services- it is a bit harsh to say the dermatologists are being “scammy” for laying out the doctor’s fee structure.
