The bar and restaurant design & scene in San Diego is SO underrated, and dare I say better than LA? The build outs here are unmatched and they really lean into a theme (which you know I love 😉). HOT TIP - You don’t have to have ugly lighting 💡 Swapping your lighting is one of the easiest ways to upgrade your space, yet so many people don’t realize it. Yes, you can easily change even those ugly recessed lights, all you need is a “recessed lighting converter kit”. Which is basically a bar you screw into the hole so it can hold a more substantial fixture. Semi flush mounts are a great option for a replacement, but you could even do pendants! It also doesn’t have to be hard or expensive, my husband does most of ours himself and learned online. Or an electrician will usually charge $75-$150 per fixture and if there’s more they will usually negotiate and do even less! Some of my fav brands for both quality and price are mymitzi and hudsonvalleylighting ✨ But there’s so many amazing options out there that could be on your ceilings besides the boring ones that currently are 😉 let me know if you have any questions below! Here’s how we made the huge decision after years of being undecided on having a baby🤰Sharing this because these are the things I was dying to know when we were unsure, and I know a lot of other couples are in that boat! We’re so glad we waited, but also so ready and excited for this new chapter. I can truly say a switch flipped for us and we went from being SO uncertain to confident and ready very quickly. Tiled this tiny bathroom and it made such a difference 😍 This little guy is off of the kitchen at our Maximalist Mansion project, so we wanted it to feel like an extension of that space. We did this by using the same color scheme and the same gorg tile as the backsplash! This vintage inspired tile is from one of our favs fireclaytile 🔥 and we chose custom colors to match the space! Two years married today, and our last anniversary with just the two of us 💗 When Phillip and I first met, marriage and starting a family weren’t apart of the plan, at least not his haha. I never really pushed or was too worried about it, just kinda trusted it would work out how it’s supposed to. Plus your girl was 23 and new to LA when we first met, so I was trying to have my fun too! But love has a way of unfolding in its own time, in its own way. This was our first dance song because it just reminded me so much of our love story, like whoops I may have accidentally met my wife and future mother of my children 😂 Watching him grow into the most supportive, steady, loving partner has been the greatest gift. And now with a baby on the way, I know he’s going be the just as amazing as a dad as he’s been as a partner. Maximalist Mansion kitchen reveal ✨ This was a massive renovation, taking an outdated oddly-shaped kitchen and making this massive magical space! The only thing we kept here was the vintage vibe, and turned it up about 10 notches 🧡 I love being able to not only do a vintage kitchen justice, but make it even better and more of a retro statement.
