Finally got to see some of the beautiful spaces at Maison Métier which recently got rebranded by Hyatt. Formerly Maison De La Luz, the hotel was designed by one of my favorite designers, studioshamshiri. The best part? It’s not as pricey as it used to be, so it’s a great spot to use up some points on your next New Orleans trip. And you have to check out their bar, Salon Salon, which has always been a personal favorite of mine. It has live music and delicious cocktails. I have a fun travel tradition that I like to do. I pick a color whenever I visit a new city. It’s my little mission to find fleeting moments that fit the theme and capture the city’s unique color story. For Bangkok, I chose red, but honestly, the city basically chose for me. July was a beautiful blur. I spent a week in L.A. with my fam, enjoyed time with my new nephew, and noshed on nostalgic snacks at my mom’s. I also found some stunning florals at Gilly’s and a yummy bánh mì from a sweet owner in Silver Lake called Ô Bánh Mì. My niece gave me Labubus, and I had a serendipitous hang with the crew. When you’re designing a home, comfort should absolutely be just as important as style. And for me, that starts with the HVAC system! I know, I know, these aren’t usually the glamorous parts of home design, and frankly, they often get overlooked. That’s why I teamed up with Trane to share how I made sure my system stays hidden and performs flawlessly. Case in point: our powder room needed a floor vent, but a standard one would have been a total eyesore. So, I sourced a custom oak wood vent that perfectly matches our oak herringbone floors. Portugal, you absolutely stole my heart on my first visit! Celebrating my bestie, koreamese’s birthday in Lisbon made it even more special. Side note: I’m surrounded by Geminis, and with my moon sign in Gemini, does that mean I officially join the birthday club?! Lol. The entire trip was filled with delicious food, super chill vibes, and endless tile inspiration. Lisbon felt so welcoming and wonderfully familiar.
