Don’t make the same mistakes as me… I had to learn these travel tricks the hard way! 🙃 [ A D ]

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: traveling doesn’t have to be expensive!! These are some of the easiest ways to save tons of money no matter where you’re going. 💸

One thing I will NEVER do again is arrive in a new country without internet, so I always install an airalo eSIM before boarding my flight. Airalo has plans in more than 200 countries and regions, and I’ll either install a regional plan or a country-specific plan depending on how many countries I’m visiting. ✈️

📲 Comment ‘eSIM’ and I’ll DM you the link to download the Airalo app! (it’s free 😉)

➡ To use Airalo, all you have to do is:

• Make sure your phone is eSIM compatible
• Download the Airalo app (comment ‘eSIM’ and I’ll DM you the link!)
• Browse the plans and pick a country or region
• Use code CROSBY3 for $3 off your first purchase 😉
• Install the eSIM and follow directions for activation
• Enjoy data the moment you arrive in your destination!

➡ For the Calculator-Currency Hack, all you have to do is:

• Make sure you have the iOS 18 iPhone update
• Open the calculator app
• Click the calculator icon (bottom left corner)
• Toggle on “Convert”
• Tap the currency drop-down menu and choose whatever currency you need
• Tap either currency based on what you’re trying to convert

Hope this was helpful! Let me know some of the ways you’ve saved money while traveling in the comments below 👀

It’s officially been a month since I finished hiking 486 miles across Colorado and I’m feeling all the feels.

This was by far the most challenging and rewarding adventure of my life thus far. Living in the wilderness for 40 days, pushing my body further than I ever thought possible, and overcoming immense physical and emotional hurdles throughout… it was the ultimate test of mental toughness and grit.

It’s experiences like this that show you what you’re really made of – forcing you to dig deep inside yourself to unlock the untapped strength and bravery that’s always been there – and you realize that you’re so much stronger and more capable that you ever could’ve imagined.

Out in the wild, everything changes. The trail immediately simplifies your life down to the barest of essentials. Food, water, and shelter become the only things that matter. The distractions of everyday life melt away, and in its place, a peaceful stillness takes form.

You begin to sense this undeniable connection to your surroundings… becoming one with the landscape, the trees, the wildlife. They become your lifeline; your safe space; a haven of peace and beauty. And soon enough, the trail starts to feel more like home than anywhere else. 💚

It’s almost impossible to describe how proud, strong, and empowered I felt crossing that finish line. And even now, a month later, I’m still in awe of the entire experience, sometimes shaking my head in disbelief that it really happened. I really walked across Colorado with my own two feet. 🥾

And now I find myself wondering… what else am I capable of?

500 miles, 40 days, and countless memories that we’ll talk about over the dinner table forever. The mom, dad, aunt, and uncle lore will be off the CHARTS one day 😂

Life outside > life in four walls ☀️🦋🌺🌈

I’d only ever camped in a tent a few times before setting out on my first ever thru hike across Colorado. But somehow, I knew in my soul that it was exactly what I needed.

Living in the wilderness is both uncomfortable and liberating; simplifying your life down to the barest of essentials. Food, water, and shelter become the only things that matter. The distractions of everyday life melt away, and in its place, a peaceful silence emerges. Not to mention an undeniable connection to your surroundings… you are no longer seperate from the landscape, the trees, the wildlife.

You become a part of it; or rather, you realize you’ve always been a part of it 💚

Decided to go for a long walk (across Colorado 😉)

40 days of pure adventure; of living in the wilderness and pushing our minds and bodies further than we ever thought possible.

40 days full of countless memories we will cherish forever.

Proud to be a 2025 Colorado Trail finisher for my first ever thru hike!! 🥳 486 miles, 89,000 feet of elevation gain, and at least 20 blisters along the way 🥾

My first week on the Colorado Trail tested me like never before – physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Amid the excitement and adrenaline pumping us through those first few days on trail, I lasted a day and a half before the blisters overcame my every waking thought.

And no… these weren’t just a few baby blisters. My feet and toes were destroyed; my pinky toes already fighting off a nasty infection, forcing me off the trail on just the third day. I was absolutely devastated.

“By mile 13, I was in tears. I had never experienced such excruciating pain in my feet before – I couldn’t feel anything else. Once we found a spot to camp on a little creek in the forest, I peeled off my socks to reveal utter destruction.” – July 1

It killed me not to get back on trail with the rest of the team, but my toes were still a mess and I didn’t want to risk further infection and jeopardize the rest of the trip by getting back on trail prematurely.

“Getting injured so fast has really tested my confidence that I can do this, but after a solid cry sesh in the tent with Ansley, I woke up feeling a bit lighter. A few days of this 5-6 week trip is a blip.” – July 2

I ended up switching from hiking boots to topoathletic Vista Trail Runners (a half size bigger with a VERY wide toe box), and bought some Injinji toe sock liners for good measure. Huge shoutout to the hikers and trail angels in Bailey for all the advice and support!! 🥹🙏

I was itching to get back in the mountains, so inally after another day and a half of FOMO, I was finally healed up enough to meet the team at Kenosha Pass and continue on for the next 35 miles toward Breckenridge!

PS: I made a promise to myself to go back and finish the sections I missed once we finished the trail in Durango 💪 2025-08-20 18:13:30 .. 529 -87% 27 -63%
Anyone else? 👀☕️ There’s literally nothing better than hiking to the top of a mountain and brewing a nice cuppa joe.

This particular day was at the top of Georgia Pass during my first week on the Colorado Trail. We’d been hiking for hours through pine trees and wildflower-covered hills until we reached the top, and we spent an hour laying in the grass and enjoying the beautiful views and sunshine before continuing on to camp ❤️

One of many special days on trail! 🦋

A peak into the last 40 days living in the wild and hiking 486 miles across Colorado 💚☀️🦋🌈🏔️

It’s impossible to put into words what this experience was like… so I’ll do my best with the videos I captured along the way.

I’m in the process of creating my first ever travel documentary about the Colorado Trail over the next couple of months, and in the meantime, I’ll be sharing some snippets of the adventure here on Instagram 😊

The 486-mile journey across Colorado has officially begun!! 🥾🏔️🏕️

Over the next 5-6 weeks, my sister (Ansley), two cousins (Jackson and Carson), and I will be hiking from Denver to Durango on The Colorado Trail! We’re all totally new to the thru-hiking world but are quickly falling in love with this raw, dirtbag lifestyle.

I’ll be documenting as much of this journey as I can on Instagram, but you can follow me on Strava for daily updates and I’ll be creating a YouTube film after the trip is over! 😝

Let’s talk about it👇

You might not love it right away. I didn’t! 🤷‍♀️ I remember feeling super uncomfortable eating dinner alone, awkward sleeping next to strangers, and scared walking back to my hostel at night… but just because you feel discomfort doesn’t mean it’s bad. My love for solo travel grew over many months and many trips!

It’s SO much easier to meet people when you’re traveling alone vs. traveling with a partner or group. 🤝 There are endless possibilities to connect with locals and other travelers that we often miss when traveling with others, and you’re also much more approachable when traveling alone. I’ve met countless friends and had some of my most memorable travel experiences on solo trips!

You’re going to uncover a completely different version of yourself — a version that is more confident, brave, and capable than you ever could’ve imagined. When you’re forced to handle sh*t on your own while traveling, the personal growth that follows is WILD. 💫

You’re going to feel lonely. Everyone does at some point, so there’s no point in fighting it. I’ve learned to use the lonely periods to go inward and reflect on things that I can’t when I’m with others. The opportunity for deep inner work is something you rarely get - so take advantage.

When you go home, it’s going to feel different. 🏡 You’ve changed as a person, but the place you left has stayed the same. It’s a strange experience, especially when you try and fail to describe the life-changing effects of your trip to your family and friends. Just remember — change is an inevitable (and beautiful) part of life, and you have no idea what the future has in store for you!

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments 😊 2025-05-29 19:53:30 .. 583 -85% 49 -34%
They say you learn from your mistakes… and I’ve definitely learned my lesson. 🙃 [ A D ]

One thing I will NEVER do again is arrive in a new country without internet, so I always install an airalocom eSIM before boarding my flight. Airalo has plans in more than 200 countries and regions, and I’ll either install a regional plan or a country-specific plan depending on how many countries I’m visiting. ✈️

Newer iPhones don’t even have a physical SIM card port anymore, and the convenience of being able to manage your data plan in the Airalo app is everything – especially when you’re on the move. 📲

To use Airalo, all you have to do is:

• Make sure your phone is eSIM compatible
• Download the Airalo app

More details & tips listed below 👇

• Freelancing for small businesses and individuals is how I got started in the remote work world. I was a senior in college and began doing social media strategy, content creation, and community engagement for anyone who’d let me. The key here is to get on a monthly or yearly retainer with your clients to ensure consistent work/ income.

• I made zero dollars on social media for an entire year, and the second year was still pretty slow. The key with content creation is to LOVE THE PROCESS and to BE CONSISTENT. It’s a hard business and not one I’d get into if you’re simply looking to make money.

• Saving $12K before traveling is definitely not necessary for everyone, but saving enough to last you 2-3 months will make traveling way less stressful. There’s nothing worse than losing your job abroad and having no way to get back home.

• Having no home base is challenging, but the ways I’ve made it sustainable is by traveling slowly, prioritizing exercise and health eating, and staying in coliving spaces to meet likeminded travelers who also work online. I also always go home to visit family during the holidays!

I’ll never forget the first solo trip I ever took.

I was 21 years old and it was a quick 2-day trip to Granada, Spain to see the Alhambra. I took a Bla Bla car from Seville, riding in the backseat with four other strangers and a cat for 3 hours. I stayed at a hostel in a 6-person female dorm. I ate dinner alone for the first time and met a sweet old man at a cafe; we spoke in Spanish for over an hour about our lives.

I felt nervous, awkward, and anxious at times… but I also felt a growing sense of freedom and empowerment. It was a huge step out of my comfort zone at the time; never would I have dreamed that one day I would do this for months on end in countries I knew nothing about at the time.

Have you ever solo traveled? What are some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way?

Have you ever done something and thought, “That would’ve been IMPOSSIBLE without internet” because SAME 😅 [ airalocom ad ]

➡️ Comment ‘eSIM’ if you need cellular data on your next trip! (I’ll DM you the deets 😉)

Many of you know by now that I’ve been using Airalo for YEARS to make sure I have internet the second I arrive in my destination. I no longer have to worry about expensive roaming fees, physical SIM cards, or getting stranded in remote areas without cell service – which on my most recent trip through Vietnam was quite literally life-saving.

And no matter where I’m going, I always use Airalo because they have data plans in 200+ countries and regions and the entire process is 100% digital. It literally takes less than 5 minutes to set up on your phone, so I’ll usually do it in the airport while I’m waiting to board my flight! ✈️

You can browse all of Airalo’s eSIM plans at the link in my bio, and don’t forget to use code CROSBY3 for $3 off your next eSIM purchase! You’ll thank me later 💫

2 months, 1 motorbike, and 3000+ kilometers across Vietnam. With no one to rely on but myself.

This was a challenge I set for myself after emerging from one of the toughest times in my life. I wanted to bring back the independent, confident, resilient woman that I’ve always been, and remind myself what I’m capable of.

I didn’t do this to prove something to the world or even to see all the highlights of Vietnam. I did it for the lessons learned along the way, and to unlock of a version of myself I never knew existed.

And despite ending this journey earlier than expected – without making it to the iconic landscapes of the north – I am overflowing with gratitude and pride of what I was able to do and everything I learned along the way.

If you had told me a few years ago that I was going to motorcycle from the south to the north of Vietnam alone… I don’t know if I would’ve believed it. And I probably would’ve been scared as hell. But it goes to show that we’re all capable of SO much more than we think we are.

All it takes is a willingness to push the boundaries of your comfort zone – one small step at a time.

To the Vietnamese people: Thank you. For your endless generosity, for your infectious spirit, and for welcoming me into your home with open arms. I will be back again one day 🙏

This might be the realest thing I’ve ever shared online.

Two weeks ago, I had just finished one of the most incredible and challenging motorcycle rides to the remote mountain village of Ta Xua, Vietnam.

Less than 6 hours after arriving, I was suddenly bedridden at my homestay with what I now know was either E. Coli or salmonella food poisoning.

What was supposed to be just one full day in this beautiful, isolated village turned into 5 days of severe diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, fever, and dehydration. I was experiencing the worst sickness of my life – completely alone in a tiny village where there is absolutely no English, and an hour drive down a massive mountain to the nearest local hospital (where they refused to treat me 4 days later because I was alone and a foreigner.)

The staff at my homestay did what they could – bringing me steamed rice, tea, and local medicine – and while I am eternally grateful for their kindness, I have never felt more alone and isolated in my life.

This was by far the scariest experience I’ve ever had traveling, and I’m so grateful that I eventually got myself to the hospital in Hanoi over 6 hours away for proper care.

Physically, I’ve made a full recover 🙏 but mentally and emotionally, I am completely drained. 2025-03-14 17:44:10 This .. 19,209 +388% 495 +570%
