Comment DETAILS for a complete roundup of all these special rejuvenation pieces!

From the cherry + walnut wood details to the glow of the Ankeny Alabaster LED Flush-Mount, I can’t keep track of all the many finishes playing together in harmony in our kitchen.

That’s been one of the fun parts of being finally done with our renovation—discovering new ways that the light hits at different times of day, or more deeply appreciating the careful attention I paid while selecting each element. (Pat on the back for my past self!)

There are so many special treasures at every turn, all with the artisan quality that Rejuvenation is known and celebrated for.

Whether you’re embarking on a big renovation of your own, or just looking for accent pieces to take your space to the next level…comment DETAILS for the shopping info on each piece shown here!

8 Second House Tour!

Love this catchy song + the excuse to share some fave snaps of how the house is looking as we head into the fall season. (Thanks meandmr.jones for the inspo!)

I've been working on creating Shop By Room pages on my shopmy, which I've added to my link in bio.

I'm still building them out but I'm off to a good start and it's really fun and satisfying tool.

I’m feeling the urge to regroup on a few rooms too. Not like fall refresh, more just an assessment of what’s been working and what could use some new life.

It’ll probably involve moving things I already own into new spots, bringing a few things out of storage…

Comment GET ORGANIZED and I’ll DM you the info on this amazing kitchen organization find.

Easily one of my fave pieces in our newly renovated kitchen, this deep drawer organizer has made it so easy to find food storage lids + containers.

We also use it for baby + kid meal supplies like bibs and sippy cups.

The dividers are fully adjustable so you can customize it to suit your needs.

Plus it’s not flimsy plastic like others I’ve seen—but rather sturdy wood.

All you need is a saw to trim the insert to fit your drawer (and you can have them do this at your local hardware saw if you don’t have one yourself).

Who else has a boss like this?

When extraterrestrials make contact on earth, they’re definitely going to the cats first because it’s obvious who’s really in charge around here.

Our new sofas are upholstered in a really beautiful cryptonfabric performance fabric that cleans very easily. (Liquid just beads right off of it!)

But nothing can stop a kitty’s claws when they’re determined to rip a couch to shreds—which is exactly what happened to our old ones.

I’ve got some ideas for how to protect the corners of these from getting torn up. But in the meantime we’re just keeping them covered because the moment we set them up, Sophie was like “FOR ME? You shouldn’t have!” 👀👀

So stay tuned for the troubleshooting on this one. Because God forbid she sleep somewhere else... 2025-08-27 02:17:31 .. 4 -100% 1 -96%

So here’s the complete scoop, with all the juicy close-ups that these beauties deserve.

How much do we love them?? 😍

Our white modular sofas have served us so well since we moved into this house 4 years ago.

Although they're looking a bit grubby in these shots (with new ones coming I didn't give them my usual deep clean this summer) they've been super easy to maintain thanks to my beloved cryptonfabric performance upholstery.

One thing we couldn't control for, unfortunately, was our cat's determination to shred one of the arms into oblivion.

And I've always envisioned these sectional pieces down in the basement anyway, with a more tightly tailored seating arrangement in this space.

It's taken me a hot minute to make it happen, but at last the sofas I've always pictured here have arrived!

They're Crypton fabric of course, in a beautiful textured weave called Linden. It's reminiscent of slubby linen. This color is 2025-08-22 01:02:59 How much.. 3,547 +24% 19 -32%
The time has come for our awaited kitchen reveal!!!

1 → 6: Swipe through for some dreamy moments in the kitchen so far (and the last one, a before/after of the same angle that will blow your mind!)

You guys know what a long journey it’s been to get to this point since we demoed our kitchen almost a year ago.

But seeing the vision come to life, and getting to make it our home, has been worth all the headaches and tears throughout the process.

And while it’s been fun posting videos along the way, nothing can take the place of a few satisfying still photos.

After all, lingering on the details, like the curve of our faucets or the slope of the pendants (all from rejuvenation!) is one of the best parts of design!

Do you have a fave detail in the new kitchen?! Or are you, like me, just glad it’s finally done!

1 👉🏻 4: Which look is your fave?!

Drop LEOPARD in the comments for the scoop on all of these looks!

My love affair with leopard print began when I was 8 and my mom bought me a pair of LEOPARD PARACHUTE PANTS at the mall. (It was 1990 and they were FABULOUS.)

Even today, I love how playful and fun the pattern is—while still being totally versatile too.

You can lean into the taupes and browns, add contrast with black or white, and of course do a splash of color if that's your thing.

This fall I'm loving sezane wide leg leopard jeans with oversized cardigans, and fredasalvador leopard ballet flats for adding pizzazz to double denim.

And of course, since it won't be cool weather for a while now, I've included a couple looks that you can wear right now!

There's really nothing leopard can't do!

1 👉🏻 6: Well, what do we think? Here’s the final breakfast nook in our kitchen reno, from several angles—plus a bonus before shot!

All the furniture and accent pieces here are potterybarn and I’m OBSESSED. I took a long time deciding the finishes I want in this spot and they couldn’t have turned out more perfectly.

The chairs are kind of a smoky oak with beautiful wood grain details and woven papercord texture. They’re sturdy and super comfy too.

And the table is a cast resin that has a travertine vibe. I was worried it would read as too yellow/orange in the space but took the risk and in person it’s got *chef’s kiss* neutral undertones.

That black olive tree had been on my wishlist for a LONG time. I can’t keep a real tree alive so this faux beauty is the touch of convincingly realistic greenery that my heart longs for. The shape and height are just right here I think!

I also love how these photos show the relationship of the breakfast nook to the rest of the kitchen. It can be a bit hard to get a sense for the layout of the final renovation but these pics help I think!

The BIGGEST change here is obviously the windows. We went from three narrow casement windows in each opening to one big window that opens awning style.

The view outside these windows is really lovely and we wanted to take full advantage of it!

I say final but one last element we need is window treatments. The edges in the space could use softening but even more importantly, this is the southeast corner of the house and the morning sun is BLINDING when you’re sitting at this table.

Would you do linen shades or woven woods? Or something else altogether? 2025-08-16 22:16:19 1.. 3,356 +18% 40 +43%
Sue me I guess. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just a few fun comments from a reel of my kitchen that recently went viral.

The reel in question was 6 seconds of one specific angle on the space.

Here’s the thing. I don’t care if people don’t like the look of the kitchen. Taste is personal, and there’s something for everyone.

I’m just amazed at how people think they know the whole story from a few seconds of video.

And then jump into the comments to be enthusiastically vicious.

The quick jump from snippet information to final conclusion — I see it constantly these days. It’s brutal. It’s exhausting.

Here it’s about a kitchen, but it’s everywhere, about everything.

I just can’t imagine taking time from my precious moments on this planet to tell another person how much they suck. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 2025-08-15 02:07:07 .. 895 -69% 92 +230%
2020 moms, how we doing?

I don’t even know how it happened. One day I was learning to be a mom while the world was shut down, now I’m watching her soar as she tries new things, meets new people, takes on new challenges every day.

The chubby toddler features are gone, the pudgy thighs replaced by gangly legs that run, jump, cartwheel.

Watching Halo learn to read, write, and reason is such a joy. I can see her eyes flicker, her wheels turn, as she works through something in her head.

We’ve started reading chapter books before bed together, and sharing my childhood favorites with her has been an absolute delight. (Charlotte’s Web holds up well after all these years!)

And she’s started asking harder questions, some that I’m not always feeling ready to answer.

But if I’m honest, I’m not really *ready* for any of it. At night when she sleeps, I smell the back of her neck and hold her in my arms as tightly as I did when she was just born.

I want to hang onto her, protect her, keep her close—at the same time that I want to give her everything she needs to fly high.

So. If you’re a 2020 mom with a baby starting kindergarten, I’m with you in the joy and the tears.

And if you know a 2020 mom, check in on her because she just might be bawling her eyes out. 😭 2025-08-15 00:59:07 .. 3 -100% 0 -100%

#ad SUCH a fun + empowering day in NYC!

Did you know that more than 40% of people say societal pressure—not their body’s needs or desires—influences how intensely they exercise?*

I’ve definitely been in that 40% at one time or another, and I’ve paid the price with overtraining injuries. That’s why I’m so honored to be partnering with AdvilRelief on Strength Shift! It’s an initiative to rewrite the “more pain equals more gain” mindset and redefine what real strength looks like: confronting and treating your pain, not pushing through it.

Throughout the month of August, Advil and Tone House are offering a Strength Shift class series that combines mindful, intentional movement with strength-building, while encouraging a mindset shift away from pushing through pain.

I was so grateful to experience a similar class with Amanda Kloots in New York!

You can join the classes at your nearest Tone House this August, or participate in this initiative by tagging AdvilRelief and sharing what real strength looks like to you. #AdvilPartner #advilstrengthshift

☝🏻 some reasons why.

Full disclosure I trimmed this designer’s comment in the middle to be able to fit it on the video frame.

I clipped out the part where she told me she recently installed a superior kitchen using off-the-shelf cabinets for a fraction of the cost I was paying for custom.

This was in the midst of our long delays with our carpenter — she thought it would be a good moment to tell me how foolish I am. (But tell me with SYMPATHY of course.)

Here’s the thing. I don’t care if she doesn’t like the look of the kitchen, if she thinks it’s very very common. Taste is personal, and there’s something for everyone.

I’m just amazed at how people think they know the whole story from 10 seconds of video.

That she concluded from some clips of my half-finished kitchen that I *must* be the sort of person who chose custom simply so I could *say* I did it.

The quick jump from incomplete information to final (erroneous) conclusion — I see it constantly these days. It’s brutal. It’s exhausting.

Here it’s about a kitchen, but it’s everywhere, about everything.

We’ve stopped giving each other the benefit of the doubt—and we’re no longer shy about TELLING each other how right we are and how wrong the other person is.

I just can’t imagine taking time from my precious moments on this planet to tell another person they suck. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 2025-08-09 22:28:59 .. 3,836 +35% 78 +180%
You too? Here’s my why. 👇🏻

I’m officially old enough to see everything trending when I was a teenager now back in style again.

I’ll be sitting these ones out though. It’s a wisdom that comes with age.

Butter yellow: Makes me look like I ate oysters that sat out in the sun all day. I love it for you if YOU love it though!

Tube tops: If it’s not comfortable, I’m not wearing it.

Jelly sandals: I actually think these look adorable on others, but when I try them on I feel like I’m wearing shoes made from the mesh sacks that citrus fruits come in.

Low rise anything: See above re: tube tops.

“It” bags: Remember when our moms had one purse that they’d use for like two decades? I really think they were onto something—we don’t need a new bag every season.

“It” girls: The objectification. Just nope.

Heroin chic: The 90’s glamorization of thinness terrorized an entire generation of young women, including me. Now there’s a lot of talk about how “skinny is in” again. It’s like we’ve learned NOTHING.

Vintage Americana: Not gonna be wearing and decorating with the flag, even in an old money Ralph Lauren way (especially not in that way, come to think of it).

Skirted tables: I had one as my nightstand in high school and the dust bunnies were bigger than Carrot Top’s hair.

Tanning: Gonna trust the extensive data on this one.

Counting calories: I used to count the bacon bits I’d put on my salad. I can tell you it doesn’t leave room in your brain for much else.

Dean Cain: I served him coffee once. He seemed nice. But people can change, I guess. 2025-08-08 01:26:00 .. 3,252 +14% 33 +18%
What would you change to make this corner look right?

This fireplace nook is a poster child for renovation fatigue. The pieces there now aren’t quite right in terms of scale, materials…anything really.

But beyond knowing that I wanted to ditch the bump-out and mantle in favor of a flush wall that extended to the height of the new ceiling, I have never had a clear vision for this corner. And now it shows. 😆

In truth, if it were totally up to me I might not have made this a seating area at all…would have brought the footprint of the kitchen over towards the fireplace a bit more (not sure how exactly but you get my meaning).

But this spot has been a focal point for family gatherings since my dad lived here as a kid in the 60’s. So the seating area needed to stay here for sentimental reasons.

I *do* still have those red chairs from the opening image, they’re the ones that my grandma always had here, and I’m thinking with some new upholstery they need an encore! They’re slim but with tall backs and will fill the space beneath the sconces nicely.

Any other thoughts or suggestions are WELCOME because man, my brain is just fried right now you guys. 2025-08-07 01:12:28 What wou.. 4,317 +51% 37 +33%
1 - 12: Some fave shots from our NYC trip!

1. Huge thanks to the fredasalvador Soho store. NYC is not the most kid-friendly place (having just been in London I can say that the latter is a more family-friendly big city). But the girls at Freda were so welcoming and loved on Indie as she wandered the store.
2. Indie ready to help you into a new pair of loafers for fall!

3. Halo at the museumoficecream. This was right after we noticed the sign that said “Please do not touch the bananas”—and we’d spent the last 5 minutes doing nothing but. I asked Halo whether she liked NYC or London better and she said, “I think New York, because there’s a whole museum about ice cream down the street from our hotel.”

4. Another amazing retail experience, this one uptown at ryleeandcru. Indie had just had a diaper incident at the Met and we had no change of clothes for her. At 5:59pm, one minute til closing, the sweet staff let us in the door to buy an outfit so we didn’t have to take her on the subway wearing only a diaper. And then they humored me for 20 more minutes while I shopped the sale rack. 🙏🏻

5 + 6: Indoors + out at rwguild. The restaurant is gorgeous, the shop is stunning, + they’ll ship your purchase so you don’t have to shove your totally frivolous but absolutely joy-invoking new ceramics into your suitcase.

7 + 8: The cartier flagship inspired Halo to want a panther carpet for HER room. She also asked me this morning, “Are butlers real?” So obviously she’s getting a little *too* used to this life of luxury.

9. Ogled everything at thecitizenry store in Soho. I got spoiled living in LA and having access to many design stores in person—and now that we’re in Reno where I can only see things online, I’m so grateful for the chance to travel, touch, feel, experience.

10. Requisite Washington Square pic!

11. Breakfast outside olivesnyc. This spot was a lunchtime favorite when I lived in NY almost 20 years ago, and sharing it with Ivan and the kids now was a real treat! They have GF bread now too, and the breakfast sandwiches are *chef’s kiss*.

12. “I could TOTALLY drive that.” — Halo upon seeing this tiny van. 2025-08-05 01:14:34 .. 3,477 +22% 13 -53%
The most fun itinerary with kids in NYC! 👇🏻

What a blast we had in NY this week, in spite of the sweltering heat and monsoon rains. Here’s what we did on our second day:

✔️A walk from our hotel in Soho through lower Manhattan. Admire the architecture, stop for the fountain at City Hall Park, visit Trinity Church to see Alexander Hamilton’s grave marker!

✔️ The playscape and carousel at Battery Park are great for all ages; heads up that the view to the Statue of Liberty is mostly blocked by construction unless you’re willing to pay for the boat ride/restaurant.

✔️ Some me-time taking theclass with the method’s founder Taryn Toomey. SUCH a treat to see the NY studio after taking so many classes in LA over the years. I love trying different workout studios when I’m traveling with the kids; it’s such a great way to get a break from the fam and then return to them feeling recharged.

✔️ Hop on the subway uptown to the Met. We spent a lot of time in the Egyptian wing because Halo is fascinated by mummies. The museum is closed on Wednesdays, which we found out the hard way. (Thankfully we got a chance to go the next day when our flight was moved due to weather!)

✔️ Walk through Central Park, then get colossal sundaes and frozen hot chocolate at serendipity3. Be sure to see the table dedicated to Andy Warhol, the restaurant’s most famous patron!

✔️ Walk down 5th Ave. to Rockfeller Center. I took a pit stop at the cartier flagship to get a watch strap changed. This was especially nostalgic for me as I used to work at that store, almost 20 years ago! Visiting with Ivan and the kids was really special—and the recently completed renovations are *stunning*.

✔️ Down to the West Village for pizza at bleeckerstreetpizza Street Pizza. They do a delish GF pie. 🤤 And of course Halo had her first official NY slice, eaten the NY way of course!

I’m going to add all our fave spots to my stories too so that if you’re headed to NY with kids any time soon, you can access our entire itinerary along with my tips for navigating the city with little ones. 2025-08-03 22:49:28 .. 3,659 +28% 3 -89%
Day One: NYC Itinerary!

We’re on a quick trip to NYC, first time as a family traveling to the city! It’s been an adventure to say the least. Here’s what we did on day 1:

Stay: thenomosoho has been fantastic, stylish but also great for kids and a two-room suite was really reasonably priced (for NYC anyway!)
Eat: Best breakfast on earth at clintonstbakingco - get the biscuit sandwich and the pancakes and thank me later.
Shop: I could literally shop all day every day for a week in SoHo but with kids you have to prioritize your top stores. rwguild + fredasalvador and jennikayne were my picks.
Play: Okay, the museumoficecream sounds gimmicky on paper but it’s actually amazing. So worth the ticket price and such a joy to see kids and adults laughing their faces off.

We’ve got one more day so stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventures! 2025-08-01 00:32:38 Day One: NYC .. 4,322 +52% 7 -75%
“I think every human being has to ask himself: what do you do in the face of genocide?” - Yuli Novak, director of B’Tselem, a human rights organisation based in Israel that today released a report calling for urgent action in Gaza.

As a person with a platform, I cannot be silent about the forced starvation of Gaza; as a mother, I cannot imagine any greater pain than not having access to food and medical care for my children.

It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of huge, overwhelming global circumstances. I don’t know how much any small, single action helps.

But I do know that millions of small, single actions can have a huge cumulative effect for change—and that doing nothing is the surest way to guarantee the continuation of these atrocities.

Here’s a few things I’ve done—in case these suggestions are helpful action steps for you:

- Donate to wckitchen, goprojecthope or waterislifegaza—three organizations doing whatever they can to feed + provide clean water to Gaza’s starving population.

- Call and email your representatives, and demand the immediate opening of ALL border crossings for unrestricted humanitarian aid. The uscpr has instructions on how to email and phone your member of congress, and what to say, in case an action like this is new to you.

- Post on social media. Even if you have only a handful of followers. It might feel uncomfortable to use your voice this way, and it might feel like a drop in the bucket. But Dena at transitional_home_build just shared a beautifully written post of 5 reasons why posting is worthwhile. As she puts it, “A post alone might not stop a genocide. But silence, especially when you CAN speak, only strengthens the systems allowing it to happen.”

- Stay informed. so.informed has tons of succinct breakdowns as well as links to more in-depth resources. Don’t look away. Let the photos of starving children, mothers, and fathers in Gaza break your heart—then compel you to speak out, to act, to stand up for our shared humanity.

Thank you. 2025-07-28 22:42:59 .. 3,635 +28% 21 -25%
