It’s impossible to get tired of seeing beautiful Mosques in Istanbul. They are at every turn it seems. Big and small, but equally gorgeous! We were taking the ferry from the European side of Istanbul back to Kadikoy on the Asian side. I looked over and saw this breathtaking view of The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. I had to capture it. It’s my very favorite part of travel. Getting to see views I never get to see, experiences I have never had, and a look into a culture I don’t know anything about. The Mosques are always incredibly beautiful, and the call to prayer is the most relaxing part of the day, in my opinion. We have officially been in Istanbul, Turkey for a week and we love it! The food, culture, and people are pure magic. This has been a bucket list destination for each of us for a very long time. It’s extra personal for me (Amanda) as my dad lived here when he was a child. His dad was in the Air Force and they were stationed here in Turkey. To get the opportunity to personally experience a country that is so dear to my dad is incredible! That’s what makes travel so amazing! The feeling of arriving at the airport after being stuck at home is euphoric. As travelers, we feel weird and almost bored if we aren't traveling or planning a trip. It's such a part of who we are as people, we crave it and need it to function normally. That being said, all we are seeing on the news right now is coverage on Coronaviruse, as well as, receiving multiple emails a day in our travel agent email about precautions being taken. It's a sad and scary reality that is causing a massive hit to the travel industry as a whole because no one is going anywhere as a result. It got us thinking, would we travel outside the USA right now with all this going on? Honestly? Yes, we absolutely would. We might avoid some parts of Asia, but would have no problems going to other parts of the world. Does that make us insane? Probably, but we never claimed to be sane in the first place. 😜 The point we are trying to make is there is always going to be something to fear. If it wasn't this it would be something else. It's how you let that fear affect your life that makes all the difference. Before we left for our year in Asia we had to get vaccinations and preventative meds and visit with a health care provider that specialized in long term international travel. It's a bit of a scary process, but we did it anyway and had an incredible experience. On Monday, we talked about the fears you have that are keeping you from taking a cruise. Today, let's chat about the experiences you would LOVE to have!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of my very favorite things about cruising is being able to see a lot in a short amount of time. For example, this past December on our Princess cruise, we were able to see 6 ports in 10 days. All of them were ports we had never been to. Our favorite was Bonaire! So beautiful!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bonaire was also not crowded.
