![Rosh Hashana is so much more than just a new year—it’s a chance to start over. When I set this table, I think about all the dreams we carry into the year ahead. The prayers whispered quietly in our hearts, the hopes we may not say out loud but feel deeply inside, and the gentle yet earnest plea to Gd for better days ahead.
And there’s something quite emotional about setting the same table I once sat at with my parents, now with my own children beside me. Passing down the same blessings, the same traditions, the same sweetness of apples and honey. It’s a reminder that these moments connect us—not just to each other, but to the generations before us, and the ones yet to come.
Because that’s what this holiday is really about. It’s about family, it’s about hope, and it’s about believing that no matter what’s behind us, the year ahead can and will be full of light, joy, and new beginnings. Shana TOVA

![Every part of who I am has been shaped by the Family around me.
My sisters, when we’re together it’s like we are in high school again. One minute we are arguing about who copied whose clothes, and the next we are making each other laugh so hard, the laugh turns into a high pitch scream, with tears streaming down our faces.
The parents who raised me, my Dad who was once this giant I looked up to is now closer friends with my husband. My Mom, who once disciplined me and waved that wooden spoon with empty threats in my face, is now my best friend, and the person I can be the most silly with. My Brother who was always “my little brother” is now my phone call when I need logistical help on life. Shayna, who teaches me all the time that conforming is not living your true essence. My nieces and nephews who I see as an extension of my own children, are more siblings to my kids than cousins.
The world today feels freakin dark, heavy, and uncertain to say the least… and family is the one and ONLY constant thru it all. It is the anchor, the safe room, and the light that never goes out. It’s the base to always return to when nowhere else feels like home. When the world feels unsteady, family is where I land.

![Fresh home made chicken stock makes EVERYTHING taste better! Stores amazing in the freezer- a perfect addition to all your holiday cooking!
Using mesh bags (I find them in the kosher markets) please your chicken carcass, necks, and joints inside and add to a large pot with water and sea salt.
While it’s boiling, prepare all your veggies in mesh bags as well. I use an onion, leeks, garlic, celery, carrots, a sweet potato, zucchini, parsnip, turnip, fresh dill and parsley.
I take a sieve and strain the shmutz that comes to the top of the pot, and once the water is clear I add the bags of veggies.
Bring it back to a boil and then simmer on the absolute lowest heat for 8-12 hours. (The longer the better!) once the soup has cooled down, store in pint and quart size containers and use for everything from soups, meats, chickens, etc! Enjoy!]()

There is NOTHING in this world that matters more than health, family/Loved ones, and Gd. Take care of yourself, spend quality time with your loved ones, and live a meaningful life. Your physical, mental, and spiritual health matters most. Your family and loved ones matter most. Don’t just call your parents once a week. Go visit them, take the drive or make the trip. Your siblings are the bestest friends you will ever have, make time to connect with them; to laugh until your stomach hurts. Your spouse/partner matters most. Dont neglect them or put them on the bottom of the list. Your children matter most, don’t wait for tomorrow to have more patience for them, read them a story and play with them today. Your friends matter, don’t put off that coffee date, or reschedule until life gets quieter because life doesn’t get quieter ever. And most importantly, Gd matters the most. He’s sitting in the field, patiently waiting to hear from you. Waiting to answer your prayers, so talk to him. Live a life that matters 🤍🤍]()

Elevated Spaghetti Bolognese
1 onions, 2 carrots and 2 celery finely diced
1 heaping tbsp tomato paste
1 can tomato sauce
1 bottle cooking wine
1 package mince/ground meat
Sprig of thyme, rosemary, and 2 bay leaves
Saute veggies, add salt and pepper and meat, cook until brown, add rest of the ingredients and

Quinoa Salad:
1 cup cooked quinoa
1 cup frozen corn roasted at 400 until golden with olive oil, salt, and pepper
Purple onion finely diced
Chopped parsley
Diced avocado (add before serving)
Dressing: 1 lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper
Hot Quinoa:
1 cup cooked quinoa
1 eggplant diced and salted to let out water for about 20 minutes and then rinsed and pat dry
1 zucchini diced
1 red and yellow pepper diced
1 onion diced
2 Roma tomatoes diced
Sprig of thyme
Fresh basil
1/2 can tomato sauce
Salt and pepper
Saute the eggplant and zucchini in olive oil until golden
Remove from pan and add onions, tomatoes, and peppers and saute until golden and then add back the eggplant and zucchini. Add the tomato sauce and thyme, salt and pepper. Simmer covered for 20 minutes. Garnish with fresh basil]()
