- 🌟 Dakshin Café – A South Indian Gem in Chandigarh! 🌟 If you’re a South Indian food lover stuck in Chandigarh and constantly complaining, “Yaar, yaha good dosa kahan milega?” – I have the answer! Recently, I visited Dakshin Café, a newly opened South Indian café in Sector 19, Chandigarh, and honestly, I’m wondering why no food blogger is talking about this place yet. This is a hidden gem you must check out. The vibe? Minimalist, clean, and calming – just the way I like it. No over-the-top décor, no unnecessary jazz, just simple interiors that let the food do the talking. I tried their Four-Course Meal for just ₹600 (perfect for one person), and here’s how my culinary journey went: ✅ Started with Dahi Vada – and OMG, what a start! Soft vada dunked in creamy curd, topped with coconut, a hint of green chili, and that magical gunpowder (podi). Seriously, mazza aa gaya boss! ✅ Next, the Ghee Podi Masala Dosa – crispy, golden perfection with that distinct podi flavor. Honestly, there are very few places in Chandigarh that serve a dosa this good. This is a game-changer for South Indian food in the city. ✅ Idli Platter – Okay, confession time: the steamed idli didn’t impress me much (it was served cold, big no-no). But the Fried Idli totally redeemed the situation – crispy on the outside, soft inside, paired with those three chutneys? Absolute bliss. ✅ Medu Vada – Fresh, crunchy outside, soft inside. Basically, the ideal vada you dream of when someone says “South Indian breakfast.” ✅ Sambar – This one didn’t hit my taste buds the way I expected. For my liking, it could have been better. ✅ Filter Coffee – Aromatic, strong, and oh-so-satisfying. If you’re a coffee lover, you’ll appreciate this. ✅ Desserts – Payasam & Pineapple Kesari Bath – The Payasam is a MUST-TRY! Sweet, comforting, and exactly how you’d want to end your meal. Pineapple Kesari Bath was good too, but payasam stole the show for me. Continued in comments
