![I went to Kern County Animal Services to meet their behavioral team. That is where I met Ricky, a dog completely shut down and in a red zone state of flight. His fear was overwhelming, which is why silence, patience, and calmness are so important.
In shelters, dogs like Ricky often have little chance of making it out. Fear can keep them from being seen for who they truly are. But with the right energy and guidance, transformation is possible.
I knew I had to help Ricky. With the support of Bark n’ Bitches Rescue, we pulled him from the shelter, and I will foster him until he is rehabilitated and ready for his forever home.
Stay tuned as I share his progress over the next few weeks until he is ready for adoption.

Fui al Kern County Animal Services para reunirme con su equipo de entrenamiento. Ahí conocí a Ricky, un perro completamente bloqueado, atrapado en una zona roja de huida. Su miedo era intenso, por eso el silencio, la paciencia y la calma son tan importantes.
En los refugios, perros como Ricky casi no tienen oportunidad de salir adelante. El miedo puede impedir que los vean tal como realmente son. Pero con la energía y la guía correctas, la transformación es posible.
Sabía que tenía que ayudar a Ricky. Con el apoyo de Bark n’ Bitches Rescue, lo sacamos del refugio, y yo lo cuidaré hasta que esté rehabilitado y listo para su hogar definitivo.
