Our team is made of moms with all aged kids. The ones with younger kids swear Roblox will never enter their houses. The ones with older kids, have had Roblox for years . We’re all doing the best we can, but we can all keep informed and do the best we can. Roblox has changed . The fbi has sent out warnings. It’s the Wild West of gaming. 1) the word “hate” . We’ve replaced it with “ I don’t have much in common with that person at the moment ” . If you’ve been around long enough you know that that “hated” person is going to show up at your dinner table sooner than later. 2) school is long and there are many many years where kids are together. They are going to go through ebbs and flows. Don’t fuel it. Listen. It’s fine to not get along with people at all times but it doesn’t mean we get to trash talk them. If there’s a chance they are going to re- enter your house and be at your table, reframe the relationships. 3) in life friendships will ebb and flow. Often people get defensive in friendships because they are losing a connection they want with that person. Taking the fuel out of it lets them co-exist without the HATE. 4) most kids don’t have the option of “just ignoring them” they are together . Teaching them to co-exist in a respectful way is a life long skill. It doesn’t mean you have to be best friends but fuelling the hate and fire helps no one. Because it’s not a problem for our brains and it doesn’t bother our brains. We would have never seen it as a problem until it wasn’t pointed out as one for someone else.
