when this island was formed 25,000 years ago and you’ve lived in Florida for the last 5 years but just visited it this week 😚🏝️ from being infested with mosquitoes and rattlesnakes to being the birthplace of the fig newton cookie, the community of Anna Maria Island has evolved and grown so much over the past few centuries 🥥🦀🌊 the most amazing part? despite so many changes, the Anna Maria Historical Society has preserved the island’s unique and important history for both locals and tourists to learn from today. remember ‘24… 🌎🫶🦋 to one of the most challenging, rewarding, and transformative years of my life - thank you 2024. it’s incredible how much a person can change in a year. as I reflect and try to pinpoint exactly when this “change” happened, I realize it wasn’t just one moment - each month built open the last. january began with me moving to Oxford, England to pursue my dreams and finally discover my true career passion. throughout the year, I also met my partner and some of the most incredible friends. from traveling to new countries, landing my first full-time job, and learning how to tackle all those “fun” adult things like car problems and paying bills, 2024 was truly a year of growth. when it comes to the new year (and life in general), I’ve always been someone who plans ahead. I map out goals, set milestones, and create deadlines for everything. but the truth is, we can’t rush these things. so, while I have some ambitious goals and exciting projects planned for 2025, I’m also challenging myself to take a step back.
