The richest village of the world has been found in India… and specifically in Gujarat…

The village of Madhapar in the Kutch area has a total bank deposits of over Rs 5000 crores spread across 17 banks…

Which means each household has about Rs 15-20 lakhs of bank FDs on an average…

And this amount is so phenomenal that it is possibly the wealthiest village in the world…

Comprising Patel’s and Mistri’s…

And here’s how it made its money…

Apparently, 65% of the population of the village comprise NRIs…

And not just those in US and UK… but a huge number that moved to Africa decades ago and is in the construction business in the continent…

Interestingly, so much of the wealth is received from NRIs who continue to send it back to India despite being outside since the early 90s…

It’s a classic case of being true to your motherland, while earning abroad.

This also makes Gujaratis one of the largest remitters of FDI inflows to India when it comes to communities that send money back home.

I didn’t know about this earlier, and is so fascinating!

The Thailand Govt is proposing to give free tickets to foreign tourists to boost tourism starting next month...

While one would think why does Thailand need to do this... here’s what’s really happening...

Thailand is missing on its tourism targets by a large measure... where they thought they would get 39 Million tourists, but have had to revise their target to 33 Mn...

Since tourists are traveling to Vietnam and Malaysia instead...

In addition, there are parts of Thailand such as Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai where there is overtourism... and other cities like Aisin, Sukhothai, and Ayutthya which are waiting for tourists to come, so that it boosts the local economy...

And so the government has proposed a scheme by which any International Tourist who buys an international ticket to Thailand, would be eligible to get free domestic tickets to other cities in Thailand... and they would do it for about 200k tourists from Sep to Nov 2025...

Mostly during off season and to lesser visited cities...

There might also be a cap of close to Rs 10k per person as maximum subsidy on round trips...

Now this scheme is awaiting Cabinet approval but is proposed to come in soon and the funding shall be provided by the Tourism Authority of Thailand...

For tourists to avail it, they would have to fly in using airlines like Thai Airways and others that may be notified by the government, where they will be offered the subsidy while making domestic bookings within Thailand... and the airlines would recover the amount from the government.

And while our neighbours are being so competitive on tourism revenue, I would hope we can pull off a similar strategy for under-penetrated and beautiful locations in India like the North East, or even Andamans.

Here are the biggest mistakes people make while drafting their Will because of which the children have difficulty getting their share in the inheritance...

Among the most common disputes in Indian courts are of property ownership matters because people keep contesting Wills, saying the Will is not correct... and the rightful owners don’t get their share in the property...

So here are some best practices to follow...

1/ It should be Handwritten instead of Typed - to show authenticity of the person’s handwriting

2/ The top of the document should say “Last and Final Will”

3/ The page numbers should not be written as 1, 2, 3... but like 1 of 10, 2 of 10, 3 of 10 and so on

4/ No overwriting or slashes... if there is any overwriting, rewrite the entire Will again

5/ For each beneficiary, have a separate section that mentions their full name, Aadhaar Number, PAN... and details of all assets with % age value of ownership and not absolute value of ownership... because absolute market values will change over time

6/ There should be two Witnesses, a Lawyer or a CA, and a Doctor... to certify that the person has made their Will in their mental fitness and sound mind

7/ The Executor and Beneficiaries should be unrelated parties so that there is no bias in interpretation and distribution

8/ The Will is valid even if unregistered and on a plain paper, but you should get it registered with the SDM or sub-registrar for better evidentiary value

9/ Put it in a sealed envelope which states “To be opened in the presence of ____ and ______, only after the passing away of _______

10/ Provide detailed description of each asset with shape, colour, size, weight, design, etc in the case of jewellery, and it is good to attach pictures

A group of IIT’ans from Gurgaon have built an app to report complaints to the government called Raasta Fix... and this starts a whole new avenue for startups to build in... CivicTech...

There are two problems of complaining about these problems to the government:

1/ You don’t know which agency to write to
2/ You are afraid to disclose your details as you think a disgruntled officer could make your life miserable

As an example, the Haryana Govt has several avenues to lodge consumer complaints... there is a CM Window, a Mera Pariwar portal, a CP Gram Portal, eSamadhan, Swachhta App, Jan Sahayak App...

And the issue is that some grievances fall under the municipal authority of Gurgaon... MCG, the GMDA, HUDA... and people are confused which portal to go to for which kind of complaint...

Now, when I open RaastaFix . com on my device, it asked for my location, and asks you to upload a picture of the problem with a categorization such as garbage dump, stray cattle, electric hazard, stagnant water, construction debris...

And the platform automatically submits the complaint to the right authority with geo tagged and timestamped proof without having to disclose the complainant’s details.

Integration with the backend dashboard of the Government is still pending, and I would hope this resolves problems for the residents of Gurgaon who are tired of poor drainage and road construction among garbage woes.

And this brings another opportunity for other states too...

If a Zomato like listing platform could be built for cities with ratings and live imagery of potholes, number of days that they have been ignored by the administration, which adds to a social audit of the cleanliness and state of civic sensibilities across cities and states...

We might see some transparency and accountability from the administration.

The app could monetise from ad placements... and can become a bootstrapped business as a social enterprise.

If there are any such built for different cities in India, let me know in the comments please, would love to see.

Zomato plays with three hormones in your head - Dopamine, Serotonin, and Oxytocin...

In consumer psychology, there are three hormones that marketers try to invoke to make you like a brand and prefer them over the competition...

And it’s something you must copy in your business...

1/ Dopamine is the hormone that gives you a high or a feeling of excitement right before a win... it’s a variable reward system that keeps you hooked on the app for longer, and keep coming back...

Whenever apps show you coupon codes or spin wheels to see how much you’ve saved, they’re invoking dopamine.

2/ Oxytocin is the hormone for bonding or feeling of belongingness...

Apps invoke this by nudging you to review, comment, rate, and read others’ review... it’s essentially satisfying the part of the brain that demands social proof.

3/ Serotonin is the hormone for social status...

It’s when apps nudge you to change their icon on your phone because you are a pro member, or anything to get you hooked on a higher payment plan...

Urging you to speak in your community saying, let me order it, I have a subscription.

And it’s not just Zomato... practically every app on your phone that you use on a daily basis has these features to invoke your serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine.

Are you deploying them in your offline and online business?

Quite like the UAE, Hungary offers a Golden Visa too, which is quite inexpensive by comparison…

An Indian can invest an amount of EUR 250k (close to Rs 2.5 Crores) in a Real Estate Investment Fund licensed by the government for this purpose.

This amount may also be fully refundable at the end of 5 years.

And this investment offers a ten year residency permit in Hungary for any Indian, their spouse, and two children below the age of 18… and is valid even after you exit the fund after 5 years.

The Visa allows you and your family to live, work and get education in Hungary..,

Apart from being able to live in Hungary, you can also live in any of the other 27 EU countries for 6 months in a year, and get Visa free access to Schengen. (90 days in every 180 days)

If you continue to live in Hungary for 8 years with not being out of Hungary for 45 days in a year, and can speak Hungarian during this time, you may also become eligible for citizenship.

From a cost of living perspective, Hungary is about 20-30% lower than other West European countries.

Would I take it? Maybe not because I have enough incentive to be living where I am, but I can imagine there are people who would want to explore this.

I’m on my 3rd pair of AirPods and lost my last one in Dubai in June las year.

Got back to the hotel around midnight from work, and before I got off the cab, realised I couldn’t find them on me.

While the trip ended, the driver realised I was looking for something... I told him about the AirPods and started searching for them on the Apple “Find My” app.

They seemed to be some 20 kms away, nowhere close to where I’d been that day.

The driver said, come I’ll drive you to the location, and we started off to find the AirPods.

Reached the spot on the map, which was a 20 storey residential building.

The driver and I kept going around the block trying to get to the exact spot of the dot on the map, but how do you know what floor it’s on if it’s inside the building.

He asked me to identify taxis in the parking, saying did you sit in any of them during the day?... None of them.

We stood around a food shack, trying to observe a few folks who seemed like drivers eating there... couldn’t place any of them congruent to the dot, had no courage to ask any of them...

I finally asked the driver to return after an hour and a half of search.

When we reached the hotel, the driver refused to accept any payment. I was like, what, you have to take money please. You’ve spent the past two hours driving me 20 kms and back and spent over an hour searching for what I lost.

This gentleman from Pakistan just wouldn’t accept money saying he can’t have me lose any more money behind a lost item, and this was the least he could do to help a brother.

I forgot about it the next day and just ordered another pair on my ride back to the airport.

6 months later I’m in Dubai for a meeting, and the friend I’m meeting walks into the room casually saying, oh this one guy got these AirPods to me a few months ago saying they belonged to you.

I’d left them in someone else’s cab that day... the driver guessed they were mine... went to the possibly a 50 storey building where he had dropped me off, found out my details from the reception... found out who I could’ve met in that office... and delivered it to them... all without me knowing a thing.

I have a confession to make….I’ve been studying crypto... not to invest in or speculate, but just to understand where the ecosystem is going... and here are some key findings...

In the last 6 months, the US regulators have blessed cryptocurrencies into legitimacy through a series of regulations like the GENIUS Act, Project Crypto from the SEC, the Clarity Act, etc., and all traditional finance companies like JP Morgan, Blackrock are now treating it like a regulated financial asset...

👉🏼 Stablecoins have been legitimised under the GENIUS Act - where the price of a US Stablecoin is linked to the US dollar such that it now becomes a legit (US govt recognised, non volatile) asset to engage in online and cross border payments

👉🏼 Companies like Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Stripe and Shopify are all supporting stablecoin payments for merchants and users on their network... Bridge, a stablecoin infra company, was acquired for $1B by Stripe!

👉🏼 Walmart and Amazon are also thinking of launching their own Stablecoins, which is like think the currency you currently load on your Amazon Pay wallet...

👉🏼 BlackRocks’ Bitcoin ETF has crossed $80B under management in just 18 months... where it’s Gold ETF took 15 years to reach.

👉🏼 There is a new class of companies called Digital Asset Treasury companies that use their surplus capital to simply accumulate bitcoin...

It’s happening in India too, with companies like Jetking (The Ken did a piece on this recently, go read)

👉🏼 Circle, one of the two largest issuers of stablecoins, just IPOd and is worth $60B!

👉🏼 Real world assets like money funds, private credit and stocks, public stocks, gold, etc are tokenized on public blockchains like Ethereum and Solana...

The SEC, US’ capital markets regulator, has announced Project Crypto, creating regulatory exemptions for innovation in tokenized financial products.

Do you know which Indian consumer brand is the most recognised the world over?

I tried finding information on the global footprint of as many Indian companies as I could on the internet, looked up lists, compilations, did some primary research, and also deployed AI tools for research. This is what I found...

#6 - Bharti Airtel: 20 countries
#5 - Zomato: 24 countries
#4 - Tata Motors: 26 countries
#3 - Aditya Birla Group: 36 countries
#2 - TCS: 55 countries
#1 - Jaquar: Over 55 countries.

Once you know this, you start seeing them everywhere you travel...

They’re at the Bab Al Shams Resort, and the Hilton in Dubai...

At the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert... At the Four Seasons, and Banyan Tree in Seychelles...

At Hotel De La Coupole in Vietnam, and the Art Palace in South Korea.

Just look at their domestic numbers too... they have a 60% market share in bath fittings in India, and 4.5 crore bath fittings sold annually.

They’re hitting over 9000 cr in annual revenue, and here are three things that have helped them scale...

1/ Manufacturing in India across 7 factories giving cost advantage at massive scale
2/ R&D facility in South Korea for innovation in product
3/ Third-generation family ownership that still thinks like entrepreneurs

We obsess over tech unicorns, but family businesses like Jaquar are quietly dominating entire global industries...

This is the first in the series of Indian family businesses making India proud, and would love for you to send me more stories and data for the world to know :)

The Karnataka Govt is giving away grants to early stage startups up to Rs 50 lakhs... under the ELEVATE 2025 scheme...

This scheme has opened up on 15th August and is open till 15th September to innovative startups which require money to build a proof of concept from their idea, or scale their POC using technology...

Apart from the grant, the winning teams will also get incubation, mentoring, access to VC networks, and more support as per the Karnataka Startup Policy.

Since 2017, under this scheme, around 1100 startups have been funded with close to Rs 250 crores in seed funding, which means an average of Rs 22-23 lakhs...

And 25% of these startups have been with women founders.

To apply, the startups must visit the portal at eitbt . karnataka . gov . in

After you upload the pitch deck and the entity’s documents which should be a startup registered in India as a Pvt Ltd or an LLP... (there is a template given for the pitch deck as well as the affidavit)

After the documents are evaluated, the teams will be called to a pitching event and the jury will be experts from NASSCOM, TiE and a number of VC firms....

It’s important to focus on three areas in your application -

(i) How your idea uses a new technology or innovation in product or process
(ii) How does it build efficiencies in cost, quality or scale which is better than existing products
(iii) What is the potential for employment generation and wealth creation for the masses from this

There are three programs:
1/ ELEVATE 2025
2/ ELEVATE Unnati 2025 (SC/ST founders)
3/ ELEVATE Minorities 2025 (minorities defined under the Karnataka jurisdiction)

If you wish to buy a car or some electronic goods and appliance for your home, it may make sense to wait till October because they might get 5-10% cheaper because of GST reduction...

A big change is coming in GST which could make cars cheaper...

The Central Govt has proposed that from the current rates of 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%...

99% of the items falling under 12% will be brought under the 5% slab... and 90% of the items in 28% GST slab will be brought under 18%...

This means, the cost of a number of items may come down by 7-10% once this is passed

These items could include clothes, agri produce, groceries, auto parts...

Only sin goods like tobacco, aerated drinks will be kept at a higher rate of 40%

The idea is to reduce prices for the end consumer, hoping that will boost the economy as the inflation over the past 5 years in India has been absolutely insane and unsustainable.

The loss of revenue to the government is estimated to be close to Rs 50,000 crore in the short term

Now, the PM has announced that this change should be rolled out closer to Diwali in October... and the final list of items with rates should also come by then... which is currently just our best guess.

Which means if you plan on making a big purchase like a car, a fridge or any household item, it may make sense to defer it for another two months, as prices may rationalise by 5-10%

I would just hope they don’t keep cars in the 40% bracket, that’ll be a low blow.

Have you heard of the two Sardar ji brothers who have built a fashion brand that is a rage in the US?

They’re doing over USD 175 Million or Rs 1500 crores of annual revenue, completely bootstrapped, and through the power of social media...

Gurmer Chopra and Dashmeet left for the US as teenagers when their father would sell souvenirs in NYC... and later work at a gift shop in LA...

Gurmer took up accounting, but hated it, and while working at EY, started selling products on eBay with his brother, when they struck on selling gym shorts for men...

And then between 2014-2018, started a journey of building a brand in athleisure and street wear called Young LA.

It’s like a cross between GymShark and Supreme, which works on a model of limited drops on their website and on social media, all while partnering with social media influencers... such that even Arnold Schwarzenegger wears their brand.

In 2019, they earned USD 6 Mn in 2020 to USD 35 Mn in 2021, USD 90 Mn in 2022... and now over 175 Mn in 2024.

In entrepreneurship, we often discuss people from the Baniya community, or from Gujarat and Maharashtra... and our Sikh brothers are barely recognized...

If you’re in business in India, you can’t miss participating in this action plan the govt is taking to counter the US tariffs…

After the 50% tariff imposition by the US, the Ministry of Commerce has now identified 50 countries other than the US where 90% of shipments from India go…

And where the government is building relations to double down on exports from India.

These markets are identified for each of the following top categories which are labour intensive…

1/ Textile
2/ Gems & Jewellery
3/ Engineering Goods
4/ Agri & Processed Foods
5/ Seafood
6/ Chemicals
7/ Petroleum Products

These countries are now going to be priority markets for the govt…

For engineering goods, the markets are in Sao Tome, Georgia, Macao, Croatia, Guinea-Bissau, Belize, Azerbaijan, Myanmar, Lithuania, Norway, Somalia, Greece.

These are beyond the existing markets of UAE, Saudi, Netherlands, South Korea, Belgium, Mexico, Japan, Kuwait, Germany and Italy.

For agricultural and processed foods, the new markets shall be Nigeria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Slovenia, Mexico, Sweden, Portugal, Cameroon, Djibouti, Latvia, Egypt, Senegal, Canada, Argentina, and Brazil.

In addition to this, there are now plans to restart the Interest Equalisation Scheme which will provide a subsidy on the interest rate for borrowing for export purposes.

I would highly recommend you join the Export Promotion Council of whichever industry you are part of so that you can get timely access on the new initiatives to crack these markets.

The government is setting aside Rs 20,000 crore as part of the Export Promotion Mission to promote this trade.

And most new players enter the market in times of heavy disruption like these.

It may not be easy, but it’s the kind of hard that has a huge payoff if executed with grit, patience, and impeccable timing.

If you wish to really take care of your family, you can’t just stop at taking a life insurance for their safe future... you also have to pick one of the four tools of succession planning...

In India, there are 4 ways to plan your succession so that your family members get their rightful share of property and wealth, and other relatives don’t take it away from them unrightfully or unlawfully...

Which is why you have to pick a combination of:
1/ Will
2/ Trust
3/ HUF
4/ Gift Deed

And this is how all of them are different, and cater to different types of families...

👉🏼 A Gift Deed is used when you want to give a part of your assets to your spouse or children while you’re still alive...

People do this when they feel their children may fight over the property later, and they wish to solve all such future fights while they are still alive through a Family MOU or Family Settlement, which is executed on through a Gift Deed.

The assets are irrevocably transferred and the transferor loses their right on those assets.

I wouldn’t recommend any parent transfer everything while they’re still alive.

👉🏼 A Will is used when you want to specify how the assets will be divided after your death. The reason this leads to so many fights later is because a Will can be on a plain paper and can be changed as many number of times and people don’t even register them.

It’s the leading cause of most family disputes in the country because one person will dispute it saying this is false, or was made under the influence of drugs to favour another person unfairly.

This is best used when you have only one child.

👉🏼 The third is an HUF which should hold your ancestral property when you don’t want to distribute your ancestral property to any one person, and want to pass it on to the family as a whole...

It is a great entity for tax planning too.

👉🏼 The Trust is used by HNIs who have multiple assets across geographies, and a web of companies, and they wish to put them all under the control of a separate entity, which is safe form any personal liabilities of the family.

Do you know which Indian companies have the highest number of employees earning over Rs 1 crore per annum...

The idea of this exercise is not just to find companies where you have the highest chance of earning a high salary but also industries where the chance of you making this money is the highest...

At #3 are IT services firms such as TCS and Infosys, both of which have over 100 employees earning Rs 1 crore or more...

At #2 is HUL... with almost 250+ employees earning over Rs 1 crore...

And at #1 is ITC with reported almost 350 people earning over Rs 1 crore.

In addition, HDFC Bank has almost 100 people earning Rs 1 crore... and similar numbers would show up for LIC, Flipkart and Reliance Industries.

Now there is some problem with this data... you see TCS and Infosys among the top 3, where the % of employees earning over Rs 1 crore would be abysmally low.

So here are the industries where the percentage of employees earning over Rs 1 crore are the highest.

The first is Consulting and Investment Banking including being at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or even Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan - essentially high billable hour service firms or those that make a percentage of high value transactions...

The second is tech... with making it to the Meta and Google offices in India.

And if you look at the profiles of all the people earning such salaries, you’d realise that almost 80% of them would be from top tier MBA schools like the top 5 IIMs or ISB.

So is MBA relevant in today’s day and age of AI?

You could have a million people thrashing it online... but it’s still the biggest filtering mechanism in India’s job market that gives you a safe route opportunity to earn above Rs 1 crore.

Amazon, Walmart and other US Retail Giants have instructed their purchase teams to halt orders to India because of the 50% tariffs...

The hardest hit is textiles from India as US is the largest market (40% share of our total exports)

The categories like pharma, smartphones and petroleum products are exempt - but textile already had a 9% tariff and with an addition 50%... we are far less competitive than Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and Bangladesh at the moment

A huge impact is showing up on firms in Tirupur in TN, Noida in UP, and Surat in Gujarat... which could lead to a potential loss of up to USD 5 Bn in the next 12 months...

India is not the only one, there’s also Brazil which has been imposed with similar tariffs, and BRICS nations may come together to build more trade MOUs for mutual growth.

Both WTO and IMF have reported that the US tariffs are now at an average of 20%, which is the highest since 1910... which means 100 years of work towards building international trade relations is being destroyed.

Now, three major things can happen, and this is what your business can do to mitigate its trickle down impact...

👉🏼 1/ If the US does not budge from this, it may lead into a full blown trade war where counter countries may start doing a lot more trade and impose retaliatory tariffs... it could also lead to a lot more countries into a recession... and impacts will trickle down to businesses in India that do not even export or are not part of textiles.

👉🏼 2/ US may see a lot of inflationary pressures in the coming year, which may add to a lot of civil unrest over the next 6 months. A lot of students who are already in the US will be coming back, and it’ll add to their reasons to return.

👉🏼 3/ This will be an opportunity where countries like Australia, and those in Africa will get a lot more attention from Indian exporters, so the sooner you start pitching to those markets, better it may be.

Let’s hope there is a settlement between India and the US, and better economic sense prevails. It’ll be in the best interest of the world.

Do you know which states of India have the highest rate of cancer, and why?

0.1% of India’s population is battling cancer at any given time... and approx 15 Million people are diagnosed with it at this moment...

But the way things are progressing, it has been estimated by the National Cancer Registry Program that 1 in 9 Indians shall develop cancer at some point in their life...

And the incidence of cancer has increased by 12.8% in 2025 compared to 2020...

The lowest incidence rates are in the states of Lakshadweep, A&N, Chandigarh, Ladakh and J&K...

But this is where things get scary... (No. of Rates / 100k population)

#5 is Karnataka (102)
#4 is Delhi (103) and Haryana (103)
#3 is Mizoram (122)
#2 is Punjab (Malwa Region) (107-136)
#1 is Kerala (135-169)

Now, in Delhi and Haryana, the leading cause is air pollution causing lung cancer...

In Mizoram, the leading cause is chewing tobacco...

In Kerala, the numbers are so high mostly because of the highest age profile, and high obesity rates with high consumption of alcohol, tobacco and processed meats.

But Punjab is where it’s called the cancer belt (Malwa region) of India because in addition to pollution, the chemical fertilizers and pesticies added to the crop have contaminated drinking water for decades now.

#ad In Dubai, luxury is seen from the height of the tower, and the lighting on the facade... it has to look glitzy, shiny and modern...

Whereas luxury condo buildings in Singapore are more about greenery, with hanging gardens in the balconies and on terraces, such that people get a feeling of openness and being in nature.

Dubai focuses on keeping heat out while Singapore buildings are built to be more weather and humidity resistant.

India has 3 international real estate developers - two from Dubai, and one from Singapore...

And to see this difference, look at the property plan of this development called One42 on Golf Course Road.

It’s built by Experion from Singapore, and designed by the leading architect from Singapore called Soo K Chan.

It has some distinct Singapore elements...

A 21 year warranty that there would be no seepage on the walls... the first residential building in the country to have a WELL certification for sustainability which makes the air quality better for humans... and just about 100 units in the entire development, such that each family gets more greenery and open spaces to enjoy.

They’ve also partnered with the Singapore University of Technology and Design to research how design choices impact air quality, energy use, and sustainability.

Something very interesting is happening in Andaman & Nicobar Islands... which will turn it into the next Goa...

The number of tourists to Andaman & Nicobar has more than doubled in one year, rising by 120% to over 7 lakh tourists in 2024...

Even international tourists have increased by 27%

Because they are getting to experience Thailand like blue waters and white sands in a more serene and peaceful location...

And because it’s a Union Territory, the Central Government has been bringing up a lot of projects on the islands which should boost the economy of the islands... such as...

1/ 5 luxury five star resorts have been approved under Public Private Partnership

2/ An 18 hole golf course is being constructed to attract wealthy tourists

3/ A Yacht Marina as well as Seaplane services are being built in Port Blair

4/ Oil Exploration is being done by ONGC near North Andaman, and an International Container Transhipment Terminal is being built in Great Nicobar

Which is why over the next 10 years, all these projects along with more roads and highways will cumulate into enhanced economic activity... which is attracting people to set up hospitality businesses on the islands.

As only 6% of the area on the 800+ islands is reserved in the Master Plan for residential and commercial activity, with 94% forest area...

People are keen to tap into key locations in Port Blair, Neil Island and Chidiya Tapu... as well as upcoming areas like Rangat and Mayabunder for hospitality related businesses.

Now it’s not a place to think of holding for the short term or to flip real estate, but is becoming a hotbed for HNIs to evaluate from a long term to become the market leader on the islands.

A new way to make money in India today is to organise a fake wedding… and this is how it works…

Recently, an events company organized a fake shaadi in Bangalore that was attended by over 2000 people…

And another in Delhi organised one in a budget of Rs 10 lakhs and ended up making a profit of over Rs 10 lakhs…

So, this is how it works…

A number of people in Indian cities of Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore live away from family and have not attended a wedding in a long time.

Or even if they have, they hate the fact that elders tell them on how to behave or what to wear, so they can’t be themselves in front of family.

Which is why event organisers are creating fake shaadis or Sangeet functions where people buy tickets for around Rs 10k a couple - or anywhere between 2k to 15k

People are divided into the groom side and brides side with games to guess which relative they are…

Lots of Dhol, Bollywood Dancing, and a chance for people to wear their ethnic occasion wear which is expensive but they get a rare chance to wear again.

The food is organised like an Indian buffet… and a number of organizers now create sober versions to keep alcohol related issues out.

It also gives a good opportunity to monetise wedding venues during lean season.

It’s a new theme for a party and rising in favour by the GenZ who love doing this with their friends than under the surveillance of their relatives.

What a time to be living in.

Mukesh Ambani, Bill Gates and Barack Obama... have all taken the e-residency of a European country, which anyone from India can take for less than Rs 40,000!

Anyone who wishes to do business in Europe or build a tech company anywhere in the world must consider setting up a company in Estonia...

The company can be set up all online within 4 hours, in less than Rs 60k sitting anywhere in the world...

In addition, the country makes you an e-resident of Estonia and gives you an e-residency card which you can pick up from the Estonia embassy in India itself...

The benefits of doing this are such that Estonia levies 0 taxes on your profits as long as you keep the profits within the company - use it for growth or just do investments from the company itself...

A tax of 20% is levied only when you take out money from the company in individual name as dividend, that too with no double taxation.

They have a 20-20-20 Rule, which means Corporate Tax, VAT, Income Tax are all at 20%... and VAT applies when your revenue grows upwards of EUR 40K or about Rs 40 lakhs.

And in terms of social benefits... public education is free... public health is free... public transportation is free... and internet is a fundamental human right which the government provides to everyone.

In a population of a little over 1 Mn people (less than the population of Gurgaon)... they already have 12 unicorns... and it’s the only place in Europe where you get access to VC money.

The government also gives non-dilutive grants for certain businesses... and over 2000 tech entrepreneurs are said to be registered in Estonia as e-residents, with that number rising rapidly.

So if you’re building in tech, and wish to serve the European market, Estonia is one of the best places to register.

However, if all your business is in India, then it makes little sense to do it.
