Gฤ“n ๆ น, meaning โ€œground rootsโ€ in Chinese, remains true to its heritage by focusing on local ingredients such as Fresh seafood, Assam, Jungle Garlic, Mantis Shrimpโ€ฆ Each dish tells a story of Malaysian heritage. 
The meal began with some delicous bites: coral grouper, cekur, gree peppercorn; ming prawn, gingerflower, rose; mussel, chestnut, pine needle.  Some standout dishes were the golden age cow, keranji, cherry radish; melo melo, just telur, mulberry and jade perch, pandan embrio rice, eucheuma. 
Dessert was a bold creation of buah kulim, buah keluak, and white strawberry, goat cheese, strawberry amazake earthy and unforgettable. The wine pairings were astounding, they really paired well and enhanced the food. 
If you come to Penang, you should treat yourself to this unique experience.

Madhu madmanfrombangalore showcased modern takes on Indian classics: the Foie Gras Laddoo, a goose liver pรขtรฉ shaped like a sweet, and the Mawa Khaja, a flaky cronut filled with burnt honey custard and topped with caviar or a vegetarian option. We also had โ€œBebincaโ€ with celeriac, black truffle, and sate. Then we moved to the main area to enjoy the next courses. We had some dishes as โ€œSamosa, Laddoo and Biryaniโ€, words which reflect much-loved dishes or elements of Indian cuisine. Some other dishes feature unique ingredients from across India, such as rabbit meat from Nashik and red Weaver ants from Odisha.
Chef Hussainโ€™s main courses include What The Duck!, a blend of Ambur-style biryani and paella featuring seven-day dry-aged duck, Indrayani rice, and seasonal white pumpkin raita. The Pie pays tribute to Nihari with a spiced lamb terrine and rich lamb trotters reduction in flaky pastry.

For dessert, Papaโ€™s features nostalgic twists: Potato Chips reimagines honey noodles as crunchy fries with truffle honey, Champagne sabayon, and lemon sorbet. The Toastie is a fun ice cream sandwich of brown sugar cookies, balsamic jam, and blue cheese ice cream, complete with a cheeky fortune.
The wines were all great and amazingly enhanced the flavour of every dish ๐Ÿฅ‚

Chef Hussain chefhussainshahzad skillfully prepared the food using his motherโ€™s recipes. His cooking truly captures the essence of tradition and taste. Each dish was a delightful explosion of flavors and authenticity.

- Rasmalai: Fresh paneer dumplings soaked in saffron infused milk
- Mawa Khaja: Flaky pastry filled with khoya (reduced milk solids). A festive sweet and one of Chef Hussainโ€™s childhood favourites).
- Mutton Kheema Samosa: Cripy samosas filled with spiced minced mutton, a Bohri staple snack, served hot. 
- White Sauce Chicken Cutlets: A very popular snack made commonly as Iftar food during the month of Ramadan, using a white bechamel sauce as binder as opposed to potato, which is more commonly the norm.
- Smoked Raan: Bohri raan, slow cooked lamb leg with spices and smoke, served with onions, herbs, boiled with egg and lemon. 
- Sheer Khurma Ice Cream: A classic Eid dessert of vermicelli, milk, dates and nuts, served as a pudding, turned into an ice cream. 
- B**f Nihari with lamb pao: A slow cooked stew of meat and bone marrow, served with long, soft pao soaking. 
- Mutton Biryani: Bohri-style biryani, mild and aromatic, saffron, spices and meat shine.

The vast interiors, inspired by Mumbaiโ€™s heritage bungalows, feature beautiful stone walls, stained-glass windows, and high ceilings, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Since opening in 2015 by yashwecan and Sameer Seth, it has become a family-friendly gem in the cityโ€™s vibrant dining scene, offering a unique blend of flavors that reflect the essence of Mumbai.

At The Bombay Canteen, Chef Hussain Shahzad chefhussainshahzad reimagines traditional recipes by skillfully blending seasonal ingredients with modern techniques. Before heading off to another dinner, Chef Hussain treated us some delicious bites that left a lasting impression.

The cocktail menu at The Bombay Canteen is huge, featuring unique ingredients and intriguing combinations. I tasted two different cocktails, and I really enjoyed the Market Day (six brothers mahura, green pea, mint, cucumber, elder flower, & mastiha foam || plantation original dark rum, nutmeg cardamom, eggless custard, citrus zest). I felt the spirit of India dancing on my taste buds, truly elevating the entire experience.

The Bombay Canteen is the perfect place to enjoy a lively atmosphere while savoring innovative food and drinks that celebrate the essence of Mumbai.

The roasted blue brittany lobster riso blacktruffle, offered an outstanding, juicy taste. The Japanese โ€œSatsuma Gyuโ€ A5+ tenderloin was perfectly cooked and delicious.
