I like to tell myself “girl 10 years ago you didn’t even have the space for all the packages you receive now” — as cliche as it may sound… timing is really everything. But so is perseverance and consistency (are yall sick of me using that word yet?) I’ve been creating content for over a decade and when I started, yes I compared myself, yearned after event invites and PR. But let’s be honest, I was young, naive, and new to the industry, and quite frankly not even ready for any of the things I wanted so bad. So 10 years later, all the things I yearned after fall right into my lap now 🤭 funny how life works. Funny how life works, right? It takes one email 😅 We friends right? Okay, so no judgement when I say these past few weeks have been rough. Between just life, and contemplating content creation and what path to take next have been heavy but I always say “someone is watching”… This week that someone is a brand I’ve been actively building a relationship with since last year. With the brand being a newer brand, I know budgets for creators wasn’t existent at the time, but I personally loved the product and started the relationship by spending my own money first. I knew they would build the budget eventually. Well, they did! And the contact I’ve been in contact with for every PR box, new release, and special events, finally asked if I’d be able to film in store to help spread the word that they’re now in ULTA! Moral of the story: 1. Take a break if you need to, it’s okay to reevaluate 2. Build those relationships 3. Be patient 4.
