First time to Mexico City and love it. Pilates Teacher Training brought me here and feeling completely grateful. Los estudiantes estan fantastico! Things of the last month. Hurricane Helene took out my coreself studio...all the muddy messy details on that account. So said goodbye to that studio amidst days of no power, no cell, no internet, no words, all adrenaline for quite some time. Grateful we hauled out what we could for what will take lots of work to rebuild and refurbish. Good thing I'm so will full (aka stubborn), don't shy away from a project, and have a great garage in the country to work online from for now. The days on days of devastation, stories, volunteer work, local heart break, trees down, dreams washed away, lives lost, phew its beyond words on this little platform of noise. I'm proud of my kids most of all. They have been here and been in it. Volunteering and helping me in the muck left from the Swannanoa. Been supportive hosts as we housed friends without water and power on our little farm land. They have remarkable character and grit, along with their raw expressed emotion. I love our communities and now I deeply miss my coreself community. The baseball team had just started back in the studio, our chisel classes were sweaty and full, I had steady clients doing weekly privates and semi sessions, and remarkable acupuncture patients with goals and plans and healing happening. And soooo.... So it goes. Nothing is to be taken for granted that's the truth. Nothing is actually ad solid and certain as we assume. And truly we are so capable, must stay flexible, gain from leaning in often to friends and family and chosen family. And silver linings yes! I live in the country and our holler didn't get washed away, yay! And the fall colors are beautiful and the chickens are laying easter eggs. Bryce Canyon national park takes the cake no question. Moment after moment just jaw dropping, totally inspiring, colors beyond any lens capturing, conversations while hiking with my kids that I'll cherish forever and ever. The oranges the blues. Unplugged and lake life camping in Idaho. Just fills my heart sooooo much. I grew up coming up here, early mornings water skiing with my dad and sister.... So to share it with my kids, awww the best! And totally fired up to have taken 20 years off eater skiing and still have it 👊💪 Plus there's no cell service up here. Three nights unplugged and camping plus lake play is soul fuel! We are road tripping camping adventurers 😎 From NC to ID and exploring along the way. I pull a camper, so we find places to explore, take our showers in streams, cook our own meals, and see the country. To land in Idaho and spend 4 days lake camping and playing - out of cell range which I find so relaxing! - with family and a boat to ski behind, is so so special. As a kid I grew up waterskiing and lake camping up here, so to share it with my kids with my parents, yeah it's quality beyond words typed here. Making memories that's for sure. Both kids skied. Mamas still got it 😉 I took twenty years off waterskiing and am ever grateful for all the Pilates I do, and we do together coreself because its just no joke to be pulled behind a boat!
