Life Update: Officially living out my granola girl dreams here in Utah 🌻

Not gonna lie…I had my doubts when moving here. Would I find my people? Would I miss Texas too much? What’s it really like being this far from family? Are the stereotypes true?! 😅 And let’s be honest… would I survive without Texas food?! 🤣

And while there are things (and people) I definitely miss, and Texas will always hold a special place in my heart, this current Utah chapter has been exciting AF

I’ve never been a city girl at heart and I still remember saying a prayer as a little girl the first time I saw the mountains, hoping I could live near them someday.

These are the current handstand drills I’ve got going right now.
I actually had a solid handstand down like 2 years ago when I was working on them consistently…

Buuut then I got petechiae 😪

If you don’t know what that is
they’re tiny red or purple dots that show up when small blood vessels break…
basically from too much pressure, like when you’re upside down for a while 👀

I got it so bad that every time I’d go upside down, my whole face looked spotted and I had to wait for it to heal 🤣

We’re back now, easing into it and being extra mindful of breathing techniques while upside down and hoping that helps.

One thing I’ve learned over the years:
motivation 100% dies sometimes when it comes to lifting.
And when it does, it can feel really hard to get that spark back to lift or even show up at the gym.

When that happens?
I shift.

Roller skating
Dance classes
Handstands
Training more athletically instead of bodybuilding style…
Whatever excites me I do that.

I don’t stop lifting during this time but I make room for something that excites me to get moving.

Somehow this gives me momentum to keep going in the gym too during the slumps cus I always pair the other form of movement up with my lifts.

It wasn’t always this way…

I used to go on trips and stress about every single bite. Too much sugar, too many carbs, not enough protein, not enough fiber, too many ingredients…

After years of working on my health, learning how to properly fuel my body, and most importantly healing my mindset and relationship with food — it finally clicked. 🧠

It was never about me.

I started because there was someone I loved deeply. Someone I wanted to see take their life back, reclaim their health, and stop struggling with something that could be changed and impacted their life in a profound way. I knew I couldn’t force it, but I could lead by example.

I used to always go into the gym and follow a traditional bodybuilder split because it was considered the best for building a ‘physique.’ But over time, I started to hate it out of sheer boredom and began dreading my workouts.

Fast forward, I decided to mix things up and introduced creative calisthenics movements that I actually found FUN. To my surprise, my arms became the strongest and most toned they’ve ever been.

I LOVE upper body days the most now because that’s when I do calisthenics focused movements. (I still do legs body builder style)
