Because Asada season is never over in LA.. sharing full recipe from my Asada book below 😉✨ Guacamole Tatemado Makes 2 cups — 10 grilled spring onions (about 165 g) — 1 serrano chile, finely chopped (or more to taste) — 2 tbsp chopped cilantro — 1 tbsp chopped mint — 2 ripe avocados — 1 tbsp fresh lime juice — Sea salt, to taste 🔥 Char the onions over high heat (about 15 min). Roughly chop and mash in a molcajete with serrano, cilantro, and mint. Add the avocados and mash until chunky. Finish with lime juice and salt. Serve with chips, tlayuditas, or just a spoon. vivacafe_la’s paleta de chilacayota blew my taste buds away. For those of you who aren’t familiar, chilacayota is a large squash, traditionally used in Oaxaca to make a delicious agua fresca. It has a very specific taste, amplified with piloncillo and served with a spoon (if you haven’t tried, highly suggest you try next time you are at laguelaguetza) ✨ This paleta though, was one of the most satisfying and refreshing bites I’ve had—so satisfying. nievesxochioax just teleported me back to Oaxaca 🥹. This place has to be one of the best ice cream shops in the city - A true hidden gem in Pico Union Every flavor is perfection. You can taste the love and skill in every scoop. Benito, the owner, has been making ice cream since he was 13 and comes from a long line of neveros in Oaxaca. His wife makes the paletas.
