Photo Dump **Special Announcement:** Hey everyone, I have some big news to share—I’m officially a homeowner again! 🏡 If you’ve been following my journey, this might come as a shock. After selling my first home due to the stress and depression it brought, I never thought I’d buy solo again. But life had other plans, and I needed more space. This time, I’m hoping the purchase becomes a great investment long-term, rather than my forever home. What did make this closing special is that I did it inside the house I do consider my forever home—the house I grew up in, my grandparents' house. They were both here when I bought my first home 10 years ago, and my grandaddy did everything he could to help me care for it while he could. Now that they’re both gone, I still wanted to feel their presence. I originally wanted to share this news with a cute video of the process, but reality had other plans. From bad plumbing to replacing the entire AC, this house has thrown me some serious curveballs, costing thousands more than I anticipated. I keep telling myself that once it’s all done, I’ll be happy with the outcome (and maybe if I say it enough, I’ll start to believe it🥴). But one thing’s for sure—once it’s finished, I’ll be INSIDE enjoying my cool air and running water! Don't invite me out unless you're treating. I can't afford it😫😆. Right now, I’m living in a construction zone, but stay tuned for the before and after pics. Having gone through two home purchases—one move-in ready (for which I received funds as a teacher) and one a fixer-upper—plus several experiences renting apartments in various neighborhoods, I’ve learned a lot. Brunch at priveekc this weekend was good! I'm not a big omelet fan, but I love scrambles, so I tried the fried lobster omelet and salmon omelet both as scrambles. So good! I didn't realize Sunday was Mother's Day, the most booked restaurant weekend of the year, so I appreciate them letting my family squeeze in before our return to Texas. 🛫We made it to South Africa!🛬 1st Stop.... Johannesburg! The students hipped me to the passport TikToks. How did I do? Airport Tip: Remember how I was bummed out because I didn't think I'd be able to use my TSA Pre Check? Why didn't y'all tell me that my status would automatically apply to all the minors on my reservation? We all breezed through Pre Check with ease. This was one of my student's first flight ever! What a first trip huh? We hit some BAD turbulence and he handled it like a pro. All in all we're off to a good start.
