4 months ago today since I flew over 10,000 miles to surprise my Mum and Dad 🥹 Safe to say from their reactions they had no idea. This moment I’ll tuck into my heart forever! Life is fragile and finite, tell the people you love you love them ♥️ Hug, squeeze and cuddle them as much as you can. We forget this is what it’s all about, cracking open our ribcage and feeling our hearts, loving with all your heart and never taking a moment with the ones you love for granted. It’s this one life we get, just a blip in time, why not love with everything you’ve got. Also shoutout to my big sis for being the only person in on the surprise and for capturing the moment (whilst she cried behind the camera) haha 2025-08-12 01:29:13 4 months a.. 249 +212% 17 +36%

Full Body Sequence // with a some spicy stability work to challenge balance 🙂‍↔️

Cooking up some unilateral rows to engage the rhomboids and lats. Back work is so important for supporting the spine and core/trunk and for our posture. So many of us spend so much time crunched over laptops and phones, back work is so beneficial to open up the chest (going to do a separate post about the importance of back work and why you should incorporate it into your class plans)

The glutes get a good cooking on this bad boy, as well as the hamstrings, and mannn does that standing leg burrnnnn at the end of this flow! It’s wild to look back on how many chapters in my life Pilates has seen me through, but also held me through the highest highs and lowest lows, and everything in between. From struggling with anxiety in my teens, heartbreak and grief in my 20s, moving across the world solo and not knowing anyone in London in my later 20s - being on a reformer and that practice has been my constant. I remember telling one of my first instructors elyseeeloo who very quickly became a very special friend in my life that she didn’t realise how much she’d helped me through a hard chapter in my life without even knowing. I remember at that time I’d be sat in my car at 5:45am outside the studio crying, but always managed to go up the stairs to class and it was those 50mins I wouldn’t be worrying or overthinking, I could just connect to my body and focus on my glutes being on fire haha

Reformer isn’t just about the physical practice and strength, it’s also about how moving your body impacts your mental health. Feeling empowered in your body, showing up for yourself, the community you find in the studio and like minded people. I actually met one of my best friends iammariafraile at my first Pilates class in London 3years ago, not knowing our post class chats and walks to wholefoods haha would lead to me being at her wedding a few months later, and feeling truly like family.

So reformer, it’s not just about the cute activewear sets and the glute burn. I’ll forever be grateful for the impact it’s had on my life. So yeah that’s why I’m so passionate about it. If you’re going through a difficult chapter right now, know and trust that it’ll change and things get better, and you never know what will come out of trying a Pilates class or a new hobby. A bit of a deeper post today, let me know what beautiful moments you’ve had from starting Pilates or starting something new. I’d love to hear.
All the love, Nikki xx

Big sister style advice for new Pilates instructors, or if you need a gentle reminder…..You did it!! You’re a fully certified and qualified Pilates instructor - go you!! ⚡️

Are you comparing yourself to other instructors?
“But this instructor is so confident and loud, that instructor is so classical and technical, and that instructor is so funny and teaches such creative flows….”
What you don’t get taught in training in personality and style, which is so important and what will attract clients to you when you’re shining your most authentic, radiant, unique self, that’s your secret sauce! If you try to merge yourself into other trainers you’ll lose what will make you stand out and clients will miss out on getting to know YOU. It’s great to take inspiration from instructors you look up to, but find your ‘thing’ your unique style and let your personality shine in your classes.

Are you struggling with imposter syndrome? This is such a big one when you’re starting out and also can pop up at different times in your career too. Be gentle with yourself, this is so so common and as you chat to more instructors you’ll realise how common it is. Remind yourself you know what you’re doing, you’re doing your best and actually you’re the person doubting yourself, nobody else is. So get out of your head and remember who you are. Proper big sis chat haha

Trust yourself and the hard work you’ve put into your certification and training. It’s no easy feat doing all the training, anatomy, observation hours, examination…don’t down play all the time and effort you put in and what you’ve achieved. You’ve got this!

Welcome to the first video of a mini series I’m doing with each video being dedicated to a Pilates prop. Today is the magic circle 🫠 it’s a love/hate relationship with this bad boiii (if you know you know) Nothing gets the inner thighs shaking like the magic circle 😮‍💨

What Pilates prop should I do next? What’s your fav prop in class? Let me know in the comments 💕🩰🌸

The ball hates to see me coming 🤭
Adding in props like the ball, magic circle, pole, resistance bands, dumbbells etc. will definitely add some spicy sriracha sauce to your flow when used in a way that creates a challenge and effectively engages the muscles targeted.

For example, in this video I’m adding the ball behind the knee to activate the hamstring and keep the back leg active to hold the ball.

I’m thinking of making a video going into more detail about each prop - if that would be helpful drop me a message in the comments with your fav prop xx

How do you wake up so early to teach?? A question I get a lot, especially dating lol 😂🤦🏼‍♀️ (haha the 4:30am alarm ain’t for the faint hearted) Here are a few tips/tools I use to help me feel fresh, energised to ready to cook everyone’s glutes 🤭🌶️

1. Prioritise sleep and getting to bed at a time that allows you to get in those 8hrs if you can
2. Create a nighttime routine e.g choose a time you’re going to be in bed by, turn off phone/tv/screens after a certain time (1hr before bed), avoiding bright lights before bed, having a soothing herbal tea, doing a sleep meditation, stretching, getting your body ready for a delish sleep
3. Have your class plan set so your mind is going over springs and lunge variations all night
4. Pack your bag and put out your clothes the night before so you don’t have to think about where your Pilates socks are at 5am and realise all your leggings are in the wash haha
5. Give yourself some time in the morning to wake up gently
6. Meditate, even for 5mins (guided or unguided) Teaching involves a lot of energy and being face-to-face with clients I like to have set my energy for the day to help regulate my nervous system and create a calm environment in the studio.
7. Hydration: when you wake up and whilst you’re teaching
8. Sustenance: Making sure you’re nourished, try to avoid caffeine on an empty stomach (which I know can be hard with the early starts) and bringing snacks to keep you going through the morning
9. I made a high vibe morning playlist that gets me fired up and honestly makes such a difference on the commute to the studio
10. A gratitude practice: it can take literally 1minute to just think of 3 things and before you know it you’ll be listing off so many things. It gets your mind to look for positives in the day, even when some days in can feel harder to see - they’re always there.

What’re your fav tips/tools? Or are you a night owl and teach evenings?

Tips to a smooth, spicy and seamless flow 🌶️ What makes a client say “I loved today’s flow!!” after class:
1. The transitions are smooth, seamless and flow into each other.
2. Adding in multiple layers and options to modify or advance/elevate.
3. Clear cues that are easy to follow
4. Choosing a prop to flow with in the class, e.g if you’re setting up short box how can you use it for the flow so clients aren’t taking it on and off the machine which makes a class feel stop/start and choppy.
5. Being mindful of where you’re keeping clients in a certain set-up, where there is load on a certain muscle group or joints, for example being on the wrists for prolonged periods is uncomfortable for a lot of clients. So when adding in layers being mindful to not be over-loading one area.
6. You want to create a challenge for clients, but something that is still achievable and gives them opportunities to elevate their practice. They feel empowered in their bodies!
7. Be creative with adding in props to elevate the flow e.g the ball, the ring, the resistance band, the pole, yoga block.
8. An underrated one….A banging playlist!! Coming from a dance background music plays a huge part in creating flow in a class and elevating the energy.

What’s the key part that makes you or your clients love a flow?

Sundrenched and moving my body feels like honey and chamomile tea for the soul 🌞🍯 Sometimes we forget how sacred the connection is to our body. I often say at the end of class “feel proud of yourself for carving out this time for you, to honour your body”, because so often we’re running around so fast (especially in London) and filling our calendars we skim over our connection to our bodies and breath. This is a little reminder if you’re reading this to carve out some time for movement that feels good on your body, whether it’s a class, a walk, stretching, dancing in your living room with your music bumping. A moment to be in your body and truly feel connected ♥️ 2025-03-21 22:12:12 Sundr.. 87 +9% 25 +100%

Groovin’ in golden hour 🌞✨ Feels so good to be able to train again properly after rehabbing a spinal injury. It’s made me extra grateful for my body and that I can train, flow and feel strong again. It’s so easy to take our bodies and health for granted, but we forget it’s such a gift and how amazing we ‘get to’ move our bodies. I know in winter here in London too it can feel harder to have that motivation to train when it’s dark, cold and wet haha but I promise you your body and your mental health will thank you for it. Sometimes it can be as simple as blasting your favourite tunes in your home and having a cheeky boogie! Get groovin’ those cheeky booties! 😘😘 2024-11-28 23:38:44 .. 72 -10% 11 -12%
