Had to hop on this cute trend. 😍
Going on 12 years together ❤️ Nearly eight married. 💍

We actually met just after Christmas 2013. From Costa Rica to Okinawa, we’ve been traveling the world together, enjoying all that life has to offer. The surprises and the challenges, we’ve conquered it all. Two cross country moves. Two three-month long distance stints. Two kids back to back. Bucket list 🎯 Finally visited this Buddhist Thai temple in Tampa.

It’s called the Wat Mongkolratanaram Buddhist Temple and it’s located about 15 minutes from downtown Tampa in Palm River.

On Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm, they have a market where you can taste all types of homemade Thai and southeastern Asia cuisine. Definitely get there early because the food sells out. You can also go inside the temple, which was a fascinating experience for my kids. Modest clothing including long pants is suggested.

POV: Discovering the hidden gems of our community with my little ones!

We spent the day exploring the Tampa Bay History Center tampabayhistory in downtown Tampa, near the Water St. District. The exhibits took us on a journey through time, from indigenous culture to shipwrecks.

I was particularly fascinated by the rich history of Black culture in Florida, dating back to the 1600s. The exhibits showcased everything from the Greenbook to the citrus industry and early maroon communities. We can't wait to come back!

Helpful tips for your visit:
-Kids under 6 get in free; adult tickets are $18.95
-Street parking is available nearby for about $3 an hour
-Don't forget to grab a bite at the Columbia cafe inside columbiarestaurant

LEGOLAND Florida has a brand new aquarium!!

SEA LIFE Florida opened its doors on June 6 inside LEGOLAND Florida theme park in Winter Haven, Fl, just 40 minutes from Disney!! As the only large aquarium in our county, I was super excited to check it out!!

Having visited many aquariums in Florida, I found this one to be really cool and educational!

Highlights:
- 150 species
- 3,000 creatures
- 180-degree tunnel under the sea
- Opportunity to touch starfish

To visit, you'll need a ticket that includes admission to both LEGOLAND and SEA LIFE, priced over $100 per person. Kids two and up require a ticket.

And they’re open late for the celebration!! 🎄🦖🦕

My kids loved looking at the dinosaurs all decked out for Christmas 🎄🥰 dinosaurworldfl has a mile long path lined with Christmas lights and life-sized dinosaurs. It’s family-friendly, and stroller/wheelchair accessible. There’s also a train, meet and greet with Santa, and on some nights, a Christmas market.

The extended hours for Christmas festivities are every weekend from 5-8 pm leading up to Christmas and then, the week of Christmas and New Year’s up until Jan. 5. ( Excluding Christmas)

The Christmas activities are included in admission to the park It’s also free to enter for season pass holders.

Dinosaur World is located in 📍Plant City, which is about 45 minutes from Tampa.

🎄 I’m so glad I found this one! 🎄And kids get in free!

It’s the THORMEIER FAMILY CHRISTMAS LIGHTS display. My kids LOVED it. I think we’ll make it an annual tradition.

It’s a walk-thru Christmas Lights Display, meet and greet with Santa, Christmas movies on the big screen, a bond fire and a mini bounce house. They also have Christmas trees and food and drinks for sell.

Things you should know: Cash only and the walk-thru display is gravel, making it a little bit of a workout to push a stroller through there. But totally worth it!

#MUSTVISIT 👩🏽‍🔬 We #evacuated from Hurricane Milton to Alabama to visit with family and had a blast!

If you’re ever in Birmingham, visit the McWane Science Center mcwanescience !! It was awesome and even had tickets half off for Florida evacuees 🥰 How thoughtful!

Located in downtown Birmingham, the museum is several stories high with all types of science-related activities for kids of all ages.

What we really enjoyed was the “Itty bitty Magic City” which is the video in the clips and the first couple of pics. This is for kids 6 and under. It allows the kids to pretend play as if they’re in a grocery store, veterinarian office or fire truck. It also allows kids to experiment with water and tornados.

The museum also has a hurricane simulator, build your own playground, a wheelchair race simulator, legos, an archaeology dig simulation, IMAX theater, etc.

Really cool place! Admission is $17 for adults and $14 for kids. Kids under 2 are free. It’s open Wednesday-Sunday.

We had so much fun!

I highly recommend it for the littles 😍 Here’s why. ⬇️

Between its Planet Snoopy and new Camp Snoopy kids’ areas, there were so many rides for little kids.

Camp Snoopy has a beautiful covered play area with shade and turf that the kids played in for at least a
half hour. It also has a new roller coaster for the bigger kids.

Planet Snoopy had so many fun rides from flying airplanes to cars and jeeps. What I really enjoyed was watching our kids ride together. There were a lot of rides for kids to ride with a sibling or friend without an adult.

The rest of the park has tons of roller coasters for the older kids.

If you go, bring sunscreen and hats for the kids. Also, the preferred parking was worth it in my opinion 🥰

Why can’t every airport have this?

During our first flying vacation as a family of four, we were so happy to find a playroom or what they called a “sensory room” in the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) 🥰

We found out after already turning in our rental car that our flight got delayed and then delayed again. We were at the airport wondering how we would pass the time with two toddlers and then we stumbled upon this. 🥰 The time flew by and they got all of their bottled up energy out before the flight. The flight was smooth sailing once we finally boarded and took off.

Have you utilized one of these airport playrooms before? Have you seen them at any airports?

A super fun, budget-friendly outing 🤣

I had such a fun experience with riverwalkboatingco !
The Tampa Riverwalk is so beautiful to explore by boat and they made it super easy and affordable! You can see everything from mansions to downtown Tampa.

Here’s what you should know:

🚤The boats are super easy to drive. You just change gear and steer. You do need to stay away from bigger boats
🚤 They give you life jackets
🚤The boats can fit between 2-4 people
🚤 They start around $89 an hour
🚤I went on a Saturday and there was no wait and no need for reservation
🚤You have to stay in the boat the entire time
🚤I did not take Dramamine and did not get seasick. I felt fine as long as I kept moving.

My Tampa Bay BIRTHDAY Daycation celebration 🎉🎂
(SAVE + SHARE this itinerary)

First time in 4 YEARS I got all day to myself to do what I like to do and only care for me, myself and I 💕 (A momcation while 7 months pregnant does not count 🤣)

AND I kicked it!! Y’all the 2000s Hip Hop Pandora station was the theme music. It took me back to the good ‘ol days.

Alright, here’s all the places I checked out over two days 🥰

1. riverwalkboatingco They have these cute power boats that you can rent along the Tampa Riverwalk/around downtown Tampa. Super easy to navigate. Around $90 for an hour to rent the boat. I loved it because it pushed me to conquer my fears of trying something fairly new 🚤

2. blackenglishbookstore Wonderful locally-owned Black bookstore by Tampa Councilwoman Gwen Henderson. She’s got all of the Black books you could ever want. It’s located like 5 min from downtown Tampa. Her store is also online. And she now has my books in stock!!

3. hotelhaya Thanks to resortpass I got a $25 pool pass to the party hotelhaya in Ybor City. They had pool chairs, a dj and pool side drinks and food!! Great way to cool down in the afternoon. And a private pool shower to wash off the chlorine. How thoughtful.

4. Inside Hotel Haya is florfinafl which to me had Spanish (from Spain) inspired cuisine. I ordered a shrimp cerviche tapa and patatas bravas with a mint lavender lemonade mocktail 😋

5. Then I headed to Tampa’s Hyde Park area to stop by anthropologie . I love the quality of their clothing. This area has tons of eateries and shops and fancy cars.

Day 2:
1. First stop: Clearwater Beach. I brought the hubby along. I love the white sand and calm water here.

2. Then we went salsa dancing at jollimons_island in Clearwater. The place reminded me of a rancho típico in the Dominican Republic with its open air atmosphere. We had a great time recalling all of our moves 🥰dips and all. It’s been 4+ years since we’ve gone salsa dancing and I’ve missed it ALOT. I used to go weekly for YEARS 😆

3. We capped off the night at saltshacktampa to watch the beautiful sunset over Tampa Bay!!

ALL IN ALL, a time was had!! Thanking God for another year of life! 2024-06-03 21:26:22 .. 62 +88% 12 +150%
Here’s some tips for flying with babies/toddlers 👶🏽✈️

It’s easy to get embarrassed and flustered if your baby starts crying hysterically on the flight. Take a deep breath and work quickly to figure out the issue because sometimes if they get too upset, it’s really hard to get them out of it.

Babies and toddlers typically don’t do that for no reason and shooshing them to be quiet probably won’t resolve it. There’s likely a need to be met.

Give them these things…

1. The boob!! Honey God gave them to us for a reason. I don’t know about yall but my boobs fix about 99 percent of my children’s problems 🤣 If they drink formula, have that bottle ready as soon as they start hollering. If they’re beyond nursing, bring the toddler a sippy cup with water to suck on as plane goes up and down. Super important to have them drinking something when planes goes up and down as it helps reduce ear discomfort I’ve read.

2. Snacks, snacks and more snacks. Airports and flights are not times to enforce healthy diets. Honey bring that baby their favorite food. You want chips - here ya go. Vanilla Wafers here’s a few. Try to limit sugar though as it might make them excited. I find fruit and pretzels work well. Make sure they are fed a meal before boarding.

3. Download their favorite shows. Use Netflix and download beforehand so you can pull that out if need be. If your kid is outta control on the plane, that is not the time to ban screen time.

4. Download their favorite songs and play those if need be or sing to them. You gotta do something to distract them out of their funk.

5. Toys. Bring a few small books and toys to keep them busy. I like things they can manipulate like a busy board or doll that has buttons and zippers to work on fine motor skills. I saw one lady even use masking tape to keeps her kids busy.

6. A window seat. The kids love looking out the window

7. Change their diaper before boarding. If they’re hollering hysterically on the plane, they may have pooped or peed and want their diaper changed.

8. Bring tylenol in case they have an ear infection or some issue with their ears.

9. Avoid being on your phone and engage with them.

Any other tips? 2024-05-25 18:55:54 .. 44 +33% 15 +213%
WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ARUBA 🇦🇼
(SAVE + SHARE)

1. You will need a passport to get there. Even babies. You also have to fill out an EDU entry form online before arrival. It’s simple. If you’re traveling alone with your children, you’ll want to have a notarized letter from their father granting permission for the kids to go with you on the trip. Gate agents may ask to see it.

2. It’s one of the safest countries in the Caribbean, according to the US Dept of State. It has a level 1 travel advisory which is the best you can have. People there were friendly and kept saying, don’t worry nobody robs people here 😆 It was safe to walk around with my kid day and night, at least in the nice tourist area where I was. (Palm Beach)

3. I recommend getting a rental car. They’re reasonably priced and you can also rent car seats at least at Hertz although they’re not the nice ones. It takes about 40 minutes to drive from one end of the island to the other. They drive on the right side of the road. It is super easy to drive there. Just make sure you understand roundabouts. They also have a bus that works well and taxis. They do not have Uber.

4. You can drink the water. This is nice because you don’t have to be on high alert about ice in your drinks.

5. It’s super windy and the sun is really hot. Bring and wear sunscreen.

6. The native language is Papiamento which is a Portuguese-based Creole language. However, most Arubans also speak English, Spanish and Dutch. For me, this was an interesting experience because it was sometimes hard to tell who was Aruban and who was a Spanish-speaking immigrant. I didn’t know which language to speak to them and they didn’t know what language to speak to me 🤣 I found myself switching back and forth with each person I met which was quite the challenge for the brain. Usually, I’m used to going to a country and speaking Spanish the entire time; not switching back and forth. They also played ALOT of music in Spanish on the radio, which I enjoyed.

7. They accept dollars and credit cards are widely accepted.
