Usually you have to make a choice:

You want a high welcome bonus? That will come with a high fee.

But with this highest ever offer that just came back, the 90,000 point high welcome bonus has a $0 annual fee. No fee!

Comment “90K” and I’ll send you the info you need to get these 90,000 points to turn into incredible trips with your family. Thanks to all who support my work by using my links when they apply - means the world to me!

Flying your family home for the holidays doesn’t have to cost thousands of dollars. I just booked our trip to my hometown for 60,000 points and $45. Total! For all of us.

Of all the places we’ve been, Paris is the one we keep coming back to the most. This summer marked our 4th trip to Paris in two years — it’s a convenient stopover and a perfect place to spend a couple nights as part of a larger European adventure (our favorite!). Every time we go back our love for the city deepens. It really is the city of love — but not just for its romanticism and beauty (which of course it has) — but for the way each of us relates to it, falls for it and finds our own relationship with it deepen the more we get to know it. Have you had this experience? I’d love to hear! I’m working on my Paris City Edit on Substack. So excited to share this post compiled from many trips — the Virgin Gorda Edit!

Virgin Gorda is like no other place. There isn’t a commercial airport, cruise ships don’t dock there, the speed limit is 20mph (and you drive on the left!), you’ll find goats and chickens in the street and the whitest sandy beaches and clearest warm water.

It takes a little extra initiative and time to get to Virgin Gorda, which adds to the feeling that you’re somewhere truly special. Tortola is a more common destination but Virgin Gorda is not always on everyone’s radar.

We flew in and out of St. Thomas for this trip and stayed for a night on either side, so I started with Part 1: St. Thomas last week and now I’m moving on to Part 2: Virgin Gorda today.

Read on for:

- An insider’s view on the most beautiful beaches, hotels, restaurants, tips and tricks on Virgin Gorda

- Inspiration for a family of any size (literally) whether it’s a solo trip, a couple, a small family unit or an extended family vacation

- A behind the scenes look into one of the most unique and spectacular trips. I strive to be as cool and laid back as the Robinsons! They know how to live the island life.

- A lot of photos from an incredibly beautiful place
The celeb we spotted at our beach bar party a few days into our trip! 👀

Hi from Paris! I checked into our favorite hotel in the 1st Arrondissement using 45K points per night for this room — and got upgraded to this gorgeous, huge suite that goes for around $4500/night.

I never count on upgrades like this or expect them, but wow do I appreciate them when they happen! Having top-tier status and being strategic about how I earn and use points has made this all possible and I’m so grateful for all of it!

We are in Brussels and decided to leave a day early for Paris (Brussels is SMALL! 😬).

The majority of the hotels for 4 people in Paris require 2 rooms which means a lot of $$$ or points. Waffling in Belgium (pun intended sorry) I asked myself what advice I’d give someone else.

With many months before another big trip and a 200k welcome bonus on the way, I decided I’d advise someone to go for it, book with points, enjoy the stay and work on recouping points later on once back home.

Read from the link in bio and stories for more on a crucial piece of the puzzle and why I spent the points. 2025-08-07 22:43:31 We are in Brussels.. 0 -100% 3 +19%
I’ve been going to St. Thomas once a year or so for most of the years my husband and I have been together (17 on tuesday!!).

My late father in law Fletcher Robinson moved there in the 90s and some of his brothers and other relatives live there. There’s an annual week long family party in the islands, there have been weddings, memorials, Christmas parties and more over the years.

It’s such a gift to get to intimately know a place you’ve never actually lived.

This year we went back and I finally wrote about it!

The Virgin Islands edit is in two parts — this one is St. Thomas and next week I’ll have Virgin Gorda in the BVI ready (subscribe to the substack to get that update).

I grew up afraid to travel.

I was so afraid that I didn’t get on a plane until I was 16. My parents tried everything but I was terrified and the more they tried to push me, the more afraid I became.

I remained agoraphobic through my 20s — anxious to be home, leave home and everything in between.

That might surprise you, if you’ve been here a while, given how much I travel now. But, it’s true — and my anxiety around travel is a big part of my story and something I carry with me wherever I go.

Looking back at how I got from there to here — how I got myself out of my neighborhood, onto a plane, walking around a new city and actually wanting to get out there and explore, there is one clear coping strategy that I now realize shaped the way I travel.

While visiting friends in the Hamptons this weekend, we ran into Kamali’s old friend Alex Balsam who invited us all to pick our own berries at balsamfarms and get a sneak peek behind the scenes of the empire he started as a farming obsessed teenager. Back when he was just 13, Alex rented space on an East Hampton farm and began to grow his own fruits and vegetables. Now, Balsam Farms has over 200 acres of farmland, supplies produce to many of the best restaurants out east and has highly sought after farm stands in Montauk and Amagansett. What a treat to walk among the rows of beautiful berry bushes and pick our own fruit! Scroll to the end to see Max’s favorite part of the day 🖤 Visit their farm stands if you’re out east and grab a tote if they have them - the one we got years ago (and take with us on most trips!) is still one of our favorites! 2025-07-15 06:40:17 While visiting f.. 0 -100% 0 -100%

There are cities that are a little hard to crack — the cities where the language is hard, the food isn’t familiar, things are spread out and the charm is hard to grasp.

Amsterdam is the opposite.

The streets are quaint and beautiful, the people are friendly, most everyone speaks English, the food is straight forward and you can walk almost everywhere.
Whether you’ve never traveled abroad with kids or you regularly make your way to various European cities, Amsterdam is easy, beautiful, culturally interesting and never gets old.

For spring break 2024, with two weeks abroad on the horizon, we made Amsterdam our first stop (followed by Berlin and Paris - more on those soon!). We were there during the height of tulip season and perfect spring weather — and spent our time time daydreaming about moving there. That’s the kind of warm, welcoming city it is and I’d go back tomorrow if I could.

So, let me present to you — the long awaited Amsterdam City Edit up now on the substack! Link in bio and stories 🖤 2025-06-29 18:59:46 There ar.. 0 -100% 6 +138%
Last February we spent 5 nights at a hotel in Costa Rica that was truly wonderful - made even better by the fact that we paid ZERO dollars for it.

5 nights - not a cent for the room.

Next week you’re going to start hearing a lot about a card that could potentially get you multiple days at this 5 star hotel with the welcome bonus alone.

The annual fee will be $795 (steep!) but the card has a ton of perks and benefits that offset that fee — and then of course the bonus which could be worth $3k+. We don’t know yet what it will be, but I’m hopeful it will be big!

Dm me to be added to a list to be notified right when it’s out. And if you have questions, let me know! There’s a link in stories with my latest Substack post covering all the changes and updates we know now!

Always a lot going on the points world but this on the heels of the 100k offer is 🍌.

And a reminder to please use my links (check the website or dm me!) any time you apply for a card. It’s an easy way to support what I do and doesn’t cost you anything to use it 🖤 2025-06-20 05:10:51 Las.. 0 -100% 0 -100%

My grandfather used to show up at our house on HIS birthday with bags full of gifts for me and my siblings. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit as a child of two public school educators and he was a business owner and former rocket scientist (yes, really!). He didn’t have a huge disposable income but put his family first and one of the ways he showed his support was by helping us pay for opportunities we otherwise wouldn’t have been able to afford. It brought my grandfather so much joy to give others gifts. It’s a trait we always shared.

He paid for everything on his credit card, and paid it off each month, accruing all of his points on his General Motors card to earn points for a new Cadillac. While I had no idea what he was doing as a kid, I now know that this wasn’t the best redemption. He got one cent per point whereas for travel you can get 2x or much more. But he was agoraphobic and afraid of travel, so for him, this was what worked. He passed away in his 90s a few years ago so thankfully he never saw me turn into a points maven — and never had to face that he could have gotten more value from his points ;)

Today is my Birthday and my husband got a sitter and made plans which is the best gift anyone can give me — the gift to not have to plan anything!

And for my birthday this year, I also have some gifts for YOU all. Link in stories to read the rest of this post and see what goodies I have for you!

When I moved to Brooklyn in the early 2000s, you could walk for blocks in Williamsburg without seeing anyone and there were only a handful of shops.

I used to love reading for hours at the Verb café, sitting on the rocks by the domino sugar factory and riding my bike to shows, galleries and bars with friends.

When people say that something was so much cooler in the past, I usually roll my eyes, but when it comes to Williamsburg, it’s just a fact. Those were the days! I feel so lucky to have landed there when I did.

For Mother’s Day this year, I dropped by catbirdnyc , one of the OG shops from the early days of Williamsburg and added one of their forever bracelets to my little stack. I got one with my friend lguggenheim years ago, one was from my husband and kids for my Birthday post-pandemic, and now added one more that I picked out.

It’s nice to leave Brooklyn and take a little bit of it with me — and always the best to come home.

Have you guys heard of the tik-tok trend “Airport Theory”?

As someone who wasn’t late for anything ever for most of my life (things changed because I married my polar opposite) I get hives just thinking about PLANNING to show up at the airport 15 minutes before boarding (including international flights). It might literally break me.

As much as I love the thought of breezing into an airport and going right to the gate to board, my feeling in life is if you don’t plan to be early, you’ll likely be late. As a recovering punctuality addict, planning to be early was the secret sauce to how I was always on time.

So, when purewow reached out to ask me about the idea of trying Airport Theory with kids, I had thoughts! Read the article through the link in stories.

Curious if you’ve tried this and how early you get to the airport?

Thank you rkbnyc and purewow for including me in this piece 🖤 2025-05-21 05:02:48 Have you g.. 0 -100% 4 +59%
I’m really excited to be co-hosting a webinar with usesteward , the modern estate planning company built for families, this coming Wednesday at 1pm (live with recording if you can’t make it).

This is not going to be a fear mongering, gloomy, nerve-wracking talk — it will be a laid back, approachable Q&A on a topic that can help you live your life without worry.

We’ve added a prize I personally want (though obviously not putting my name in the hat!): a $300 gift certificate to LILIA in Williamsburg!

All attendees will receive $1,000 off a personalized, comprehensive estate plan from Steward, a recording of the webinar and be entered to win:

* $300 gift certificate to LILIA (dinner for 4!)
* Wine & charcuterie package from One Hope Wine
* 1:1 points session with Rachel Lipson of Brooklyn Family Travelers
* An annual subscription to the BFT Substack (including full trip reports, points and miles deep dives, etc!)

For many of us, the options for creating an estate plan have felt limited. We could choose a pricey attorney or use an online impersonal service that can’t handle complexity and nuanced needs. This is why I am so excited about Steward.

Steward provides you with a personal Concierge to take you through your journey and unlimited time with a dedicated attorney to discuss your plan with you. All the while, it costs way less than traditional options because of the technology they’ve built to help along the way.

Hope you’ll join (and tell a friend)!
