We’ve all been there: you pay for a full 24-hour stay, but the hotel only lets you check in at 3 pm, and the next morning they’re already rushing you out by 11 am.
In other words, you paid for 24 hours, but barely enjoyed 18 🫠

Well, that’s about to change.
Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism has just regulated the New General Tourism Law, bringing clearer and fairer rules for hotels, resorts, inns, and similar establishments.

📌 What actually changes:
	•	A daily rate now covers 24 hours, with up to 3 hours reserved for cleaning. Guests must have AT LEAST 21 real hours of stay guaranteed.
	•	Check-in and check-out times can still be set by each property, but must be clearly communicated upfront.
	•	Early check-in and late check-out can be charged, but only if the rules and fees are shared beforehand and transparently.
	•	Rooms must be cleaned and ready within 3 hours after the guest leaves.
	•	Starting in December, the guest registration will be digital: less paperwork, faster check-ins.

⚠️ Important: These new rules do not apply to properties rented via Airbnb, Booking, and similar platforms; only to official accommodation businesses.

💡 What this means in practice: more transparency, less stress, and finally an experience that matches what you actually paid for.

In Rio, your accommodation defines much more than just where you sleep: it defines your comfort, safety, and how smooth your trip will be.

A local planner can save you precious time by taking over the search and verification process and also by mediating questions with your host, so you can focus on enjoying your trip instead of worrying about the details! ✨

What makes Rio seem more dangerous than it really is? 🤔
Narratives. Stigma. Headlines.
In reality, most tourists in the South Zone live a trip of beaches, bars, and culture - not an urban war zone.
With the right information and planning, risks shrink anywhere in the world.

Never been to Carnaval in Rio? So here is what you need to know before you plan anything.

📍When is Carnaval, really?
In 2026, Carnaval Tuesday is February 17, but the main week runs from Feb 13 to 18 (Friday to Tuesday is peak madness, with some extended parties until Ash Wednesday and beyond).

📍So it’s just one week?
Absolutely not. Carnaval is a state of mind.
It unofficially starts in November with small warm-up blocos… and stretches well into March or even April, depending on the year.
The main difference? During the official week, the city is PACKED, prices skyrocket, and it’s when Sambadrome parades take place.

📍What are blocos? Are they like the parades?
Nope.
Blocos = street parties with music, themes, wild costumes, beer in hand, and zero barriers.
Sambadrome = ticketed parades with samba schools competing in a choreographed spectacle.

📍How early should you book?
Now. Yesterday. Last month.
Honestly? Airbnb and hotels are already running out, and the best Sambadrome seats (like frisas especiais) are sold out.
Even hostels are doubling prices.

For you have an idea (in USD, per night):
Hostel bed (shared dorm):
• Normal February: $17–24
• Carnaval week: $55–110

Mid-range Airbnb:
• Normal February: $46–75
• Carnaval week: $165–335

Hotel in Copacabana/Ipanema:
• Normal February: $92–150
• Carnaval week: $370–925

📍So what if I can’t spend all that?
Don’t worry, you’ve got options.
✅ Coming a week before or after Carnaval is a smart move because you’ll still catch blocos, it’s way less crowded, lodging is cheaper, flights are easier and locals are still partying hard!

Need help planning? So send me a message 🙂
From finding legit last-minute stays to getting you into sold-out sections or building a full experience helping you navigate through the right parties, I’ve got you 😉

I work with men. Lots of them.

I’ve spent years as the only woman on tour with rock and rap artists between pure chaos, and was always respected.
Not because I was sweet, but because I knew how to hold it down.
So when I say I know how to handle men, it’s not theory.

I know they love beautiful women, I know they want parties, connection, the thrill of feeling alive.
I also know they mess up. A lot.

And yes, I plan a LOT of bachelor parties that include all of that.

My clients don’t whine about prices.
They’re not haggling over nightlife.
They don’t expect a private table for 50 bucks, and they definitely don’t assume Brazilian women “go easy” out of gratitude.

I know exactly who I work with nowadays especially after I cut ties with that infamous boat party.

And I know, just as clearly, who doesn’t belong here anymore.

Men who can’t deal with women back home.
Who can’t handle rejection.
Who confuse sensuality with submission.
Who call it “freedom” when it’s really just escape, the kind of guy who thinks everything can be bought with a good exchange rate.

That’s not what I offer.
What I do is real curation of a city that’s intense, beautiful, dangerous, and unpredictable: and it punishes who walks in with the wrong mindset.

My clients value my time because they VALUE THEIR OWN TIME and don’t want to waste it making the wrong choices.
They want precision, comfort, and someone who’s already seen what they haven’t even anticipated yet, with style and real experience, not just status.

They want to know exactly where to go, when to go, and what to expect when they get there.
I adapt to anything — but I don’t accept everything.

I don’t negotiate my authority with who think respect is a transaction and I don’t work for people who mistake my attention for servitude.

I handle hangovers, delays, last-minute chaos, uncertainty, emergencies, this is part of the package and we are all humans.

But:
I don’t buy drugs for anyone.
I’m not your 24/7 robot.
And I’m definitely not your nanny.

If you want to experience Rio with intelligence, pleasure and depth, then yes.I’m exactly who you call.
If all u want is to know is “where the hoes at”, so no, sorry. 2025-07-08 20:13:09 .. 0 - 9 +24%
Even though I live in Rio now, I used to come here a lot for longer stay and sometimes, even with a long-term Airbnb, I’d still book a few nights at a hotel, especially after busy work weeks when I needed real rest.

As a producer, I’ve also spent years managing hotel bookings for artists. And let me tell you: many of them prefer what Instagram doesn’t show: privacy, solid infrastructure, and an authentic Rio vibe. No screaming fans at breakfast, please.

1. Sheraton Grand Rio
Tucked away between Leblon and São Conrado, it’s the only beachfront hotel in Rio’s South Zone with direct access to the sand. The heated pool feels straight out of a movie, the sunset is breathtaking, and the overall vibe is that of a secret escape.
This is where I go when I want to disappear without leaving the city, or for a quiet day use or a special date.

2. Hotel Janeiro
I LOVE everything about this hotel. The design, the minimalism, the elegance, and the comfort.
The view is stunning, and the service is great.
It’s a hotel with real charm, no fake vibes.

3. Fairmont Rio
Perfect if you want luxury at international standards but still want to feel like you’re in Rio.
It offers an iconic view of Copacabana beach, a great spa, and a rooftop restaurant and bar with really good food and cocktails.
It’s also in the best part of Copacabana, with a beach service that feels secure and well managed.

4. Grand Hyatt
Far from the tourist circuit and closer to peace. Located in Barra, the Hyatt gives you space, silence, comfort, and a mirrored sunset over the pool that’s honestly worth the trip. It’s the kind of hotel you book when you truly want to unwind or need to work without distractions.

5. Miramar by Windsor
That’s the one in my photo, the best value for money on this list. Located in the heart of Copacabana at Posto 5, it delivers a much more refined experience than you might expect at first glance.
The rooftop infinity pool is one of the best on the entire coastline (yes, even better than Emiliano or Marriott).

Why not Fasano or Copacabana Palace? ⬇️⬇️⬇️ 2025-07-05 20:34:33 .. 0 - 7 -3%
In recent years, a quiet but profound transformation has reshaped the way the world consumes luxury.

On one side, social media created a polished aesthetic of ostentation: lukewarm champagne on yachts, long lines for the same tired tourist photo.
On the other, the most influential luxury brands and the most intentional travelers are moving in the opposite direction: valuing what doesn’t scream, what doesn’t need to prove anything.

It’s impossible to ignore how Instagram and TikTok have shaped the way people travel.

Today, the script comes ready-made:
A photo at Sugarloaf, a drink at the rooftop hotel, a selfie at the Escadaria Selarón, a boat with no vibes — but a professional photographer included.

Everything designed to be recorded, not remembered.
Meanwhile, luxury brands and discerning travelers are rewriting the definition of travel.

Hermès invests in silence and scarcity.
Aman Resorts offers slowness, privacy, and invisible service.
Bottega Veneta stripped away logos, favoring form, texture and quiet presence.
Today, luxury is no longer measured by price, but by sensitivity.
🪞A curated experience that reflects who you are: not a generic “premium” package.

Rio with all its beauty, continues to be sold in superficial packages.
Agencies label basic itineraries as “luxury,” but they’re just copy-paste formulas:

• Contextless parties/ Poorly thought-out service/ Experiences that look expensive… but feel empty!

Worse: this creates a kind of tourist who believes that spending, posting and showing off is luxury.
When in fact, luxury is the opposite.
It’s listening.
It’s choice.
It’s time.
It’s knowing which bar to recommend — not the most expensive one, but the one that feels right.
In a world oversaturated with images, curation is everything.
It’s knowing how to connect someone to the right place.
If anyone with the same budget could have your trip…
It wasn’t luxury, it was consumption.
But if your trip carried your rhythm, your personality, your timing and every detail was handled with intention…
Then yes.
It was luxury.
Even if you never posted it. 😉

The National Museum of Brazil, housed in a former Imperial Palace, was once Latin America’s largest natural history and anthropology museum and in 2018, it suffered a devastating fire that destroyed nearly everything.

90% of the 20 million artifacts were lost: mummies, dinosaur fossils, rare indigenous collections, and more.

Now, it’s partially reopened; not just to exhibit artifacts, but to tell the story of cultural survival and scientific rebirth.

✨ What You’ll See Now (July–August 2025)
-The Bendegó meteorite: over 5,000 kg, unchanged by the fire.
-A 16-meter-long whale skeleton (cachalot) suspended above your head.
-Preserved walls scarred by the fire, turned into a living memorial.
-A dedicated area telling the history of the palace and the tragedy.
-The exhibit “Entre Gigantes” (Among Giants), mixing science, memory, and raw emotion.

A Brief Legacy:
-Built in 1803, the palace became home to the Portuguese royal family when they fled Napoleon.
-It later housed Brazil’s emperors and became a museum in 1892.
-Its collection was once the most important in South America, ranging from Egyptian mummies to Amazonian tribal heritage.

🧭 Why it’s worth your time
You don’t visit this museum for the quantity of art.
You visit it for the story it tells: of an empire, a fire, a nation in reconstruction.
Of how science, culture and memory can rise from the ashes.

So for a rainy and cold week, you should add this to your itinerary!

📆 Open from Tuesday to Sunday, with 300 spots available per day. Free admission, but advance booking required via Sympla.

From July 4 to 7, Rio will host the BRICS 2025 Summit, bringing global leaders to the city and massive changes to traffic, transport, and local routines 🤯

Here’s everything you need to know:

KEY DATES ⚠️
Friday, July 4: Optional public holiday (ponto facultativo)
Saturday–Sunday: Partial restrictions in key zones
Monday, July 7: Municipal holiday in Rio

🚧 AVOID THESE AREAS

Aterro do Flamengo & MAM surroundings
🚫 Total traffic closure July 5–7 (12PM–midnight)
🚶‍♀️ Pedestrians only allowed via underground access
🚲 Bicycles, skates, scooters = prohibited
🎯 Used for summit meetings and official convoys

Copacabana / Av. Atlântica
🚫 No traffic from July 5 (10PM) to July 7 (11:59PM)
🚫 No parking allowed from July 4 (10PM)
🎫 Access only for residents with proof of address (talk to your Airbnb owners!!!)

Santos Dumont Airport (SDU)
🛬 Closed to commercial flights July 6 & 7
✈️ All flights redirected to Galeão (GIG) – plan ahead

🚦TRANSPORTATION IMPACT
Metro: 🟢 Running normally
VLT, BRT, Bus: 🔁 Routes near Flamengo & Copacabana will be rerouted

CET-Rio: 130 traffic agents, mobile teams, 55 motorcycles, 22 vehicles, and 30 info panels deployed.

🛡️ SECURITY ZONES
Expect over 17,000 officers on duty including military, civil police, and federal agents.
🎥 Surveillance by drones, facial recognition, license plate scanners

📍High security presence from Santos Dumont to Flamengo, Copacabana & Zona Sul!

🧠 My tips for you all:

- If is possible, stay away from Flamengo, Glória, and Copacabana between July 4–7
- Use MetrôRio instead of buses
- Add 1+ hour to airport travel time
- Have a digital or printed proof of address
- Book restaurants ahead: many will adjust hours or close entirely
- Explore off-zone neighborhoods like Jardim Botânico, Gávea, or Leblon.

If you rented a boat for this weekend, check whether you’ll be able to board from alternative locations other than Marina da Glória.
High risk of parties and tours being canceled and no refunds being issued 😬

Be smart, plan ahead 🫡

It’s surprisingly common for foreign tourists to know more of Brazil than many Brazilians themselves.
The reason?
For locals, it’s often cheaper to fly abroad than to travel within our own country.
Few airlines, low competition, high airport taxes and fuel costs, no real “low-cost” carriers like in Europe… makes domestic flights here almost a luxury item. 🥹

So how to pay less when flying?
✅ Book at least 30–45 days in advance
✅ Travel midweek (Tues–Thurs)
✅ Use local platforms (Decolar, MaxMilhas, 123Milhas and always check reviews)
✅ Avoid major holidays and school vacations
✅ Search for tickets using a VPN set to Brazil

But even with hacks, prices often stay high for short trips.

🚌 The bus is Brazil’s best-kept secret ♥️

Long-distance buses in Brazil are not like FlixBus in another countries (I’m still traumatized by my travel Rome - Marseille).

They’re often cleaner, safer, quieter and more comfortable than flying, besides much cheaper!

You can choose:
Leito: fully reclinable bed (1st class vibes)
Semi-leito: very comfy recline, great cost-benefit
Executivo: basic, but better than most budget airlines

✨ Bonus: You travel overnight, save on hotels and arrive rested.

So… when should you fly? ✈️
-Distances above 900km
-If you find promo prices 45+ days ahead
-When you’re on a tight schedule
-For island destinations (like Fernando de Noronha)

When to take the bus? 🚌
-Trips under 8–10h
-Overnight routes: especially with “leito” class
-When flights are overpriced or have long layovers
-For scenic, comfortable travel without airport stress

🧭 My tip as a local planner:
Most tourists waste money flying routes they could do in a luxurious overnight bus for a fraction of the price: and they don’t even know it.

If you’re planning a multi-city trip in Brazil, let me help design a smarter route.
I combine flight, bus, ferry and local logistics; so you don’t waste time or money 😉

❌ Not checking your accommodation rules
Want to have guests over? Make absolutely SURE you’re allowed to.
Many Airbnbs (and hotels) no longer allow visitors for safety reasons.

❌ Trusting nightclubs in Copacabana
There are no good clubs in Copacabana. I repeat: NONE. The nightlife there is either sex -oriented or hostel-style tourist parties a.k.a TOURIST TRAPS.

❌ Renting an illegal boat
Boats and yachts require expensive maintenance, licensing, and trained crew.
If the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is either it’s a scam, or it’s dangerously unsafe.

❌ No internet and no working credit card
Being offline as a tourist should be illegal. You won’t be able to call for help, send your location, or use a translator. Also, international cards can get blocked if you don’t notify your bank in advance.

❌ Renting a car without understanding local traffic
It’s just NOT worth it. The traffic is chaotic, the laws are different, and GPS doesn’t always work. Taking a wrong turn might land you in a dangerous area.

❌ Trying to walk short distances at night
“It’s just a 20-minute walk…” Doesn’t matter. Even in touristy areas, walking alone at late night in Rio is asking for trouble.

❌ Carrying your passport as ID
Your passport should stay locked in a safe until your departure day. If you lose it or get robbed, it’s a logistical nightmare.
Use a certified copy or another photo ID, and always carry your address and emergency contact: both in your phone and on paper.

❌ Food poisoning and sunstroke
No, it’s not the shower water. It’s the combo of caipirinhas, blazing sun, and sketchy street food. Spending all day drinking and eating anything in sight will mess you up, trust me!

❌ Getting lost on a trail without a guide
Some trails in Rio can lead you to risky areas or require extra gear and caution.

❌ Emotional scams
Made a friend or started dating someone? No matter how sad their story sounds DO NOT SEND MONEY. Lonely tourists are easy targets.

“I want a Brazilian girlfriend.”
This phrase is very common—spoken by men. But behind it, there’s more than romantic desire: a constructed, promoted, and sold image over decades.

Brazilian women are seen as warm, sensual, charming, welcoming. But when this image becomes a rule (not a choice) love gives way to fetish.

📍Where does this idea come from?
During Brazil’s military dictatorship, the government projected the country as a tropical paradise. To attract tourists, it sold not only climate and music but also female bodies.

Embratur made the “sensual Brazilian woman” a symbol of Brazil. International magazines reinforced it; the famous Paris Match cover, topless women on Rio beaches, celebrating the “new free Brazil”, read: sexualized.

Pop culture spread this narrative: from Carmen Miranda to carnival muses, from Gisele to Anitta: feeding the global fantasy of the Brazilian woman as a national symbol.

⚠️ But fetish is not affection. Wanting a type isn’t loving a person.
“Saying “I want a Brazilian” often means wanting a character, not a real woman. This expectation turns women into products, and products can be consumed without empathy.

- Brazilian women traveling alone get harassed by men thinking “they’re there for that.”
-Objectification affects how women are treated, hired, and represented abroad.
-Violence rises with the idea that “Brazilian women like it.”
-Sex tourism grows disguised as “tropical interracial romance.”

Worse: this fetish has color, class, and origin.
Often, it’s black, mixed-race, curvy, peripheral women—those bearing the country’s biggest inequalities.

🎯 Why does this matter in love? Because real connection comes from true encounters—not from expecting her to be more submissive, feminine, or “grateful” to be with you.

When the gaze is shaped by centuries of stereotypes, there’s little room to see who she really is. And while some say it’s “just personal taste,” sex tourism thrives on this “taste.”
This isn’t romance. It’s imbalance.
Brazilian women are many things—less a cliché.

If your dream is to fall in love with a Brazilian woman…
Start by letting go of the image.
Get ready to meet a real person.

Good luck 🍀 2025-06-11 18:16:42 .. 0 - 55 +660%
First date 🤞🏼

Nosso Ipanema (nossoipanema)
A rooftop in a laid-back Ipanema setting with high-level mixology and ambient music, not open till too late, easy to create an excuse if you don’t vibe.

Sult (sult.restaurante)
Small, a bit tight, but extremely tasty food.
Open kitchen and relaxed atmosphere.

Alba (alba.botafogo)
Besides the restaurant, if the conversation flows and you want to keep the night going, there’s a club in the back with cool DJs and great drinks.

Palma Horto (palmahorto)
An extremely sophisticated and romantic atmosphere, but it also features DJs from Wednesday to Saturday.

Canastra Rose (canastrarose)
It’s a big house filled with vintage décor, tasty drinks, different rooms, and a varied music lineup. Think low lighting, candlesticks, sofas, and a dance floor.

Pato com Laranja (Leblon)
Sushi, good drinks, electronic music — romantic and casual at the same time.

Pule (pulerestaurante)
A real wildcard. Works for solo nights, friends, or a first date. Excellent food, small and cozy, perfect for chatting. The caipirinhas are delicious.

Gino (gino.ristorante)
I’m a big fan. Authentic Italian from the south. Great location in Copacabana, very romantic indoor setting, but if you sit outside you get ocean views and candles.

To impress ✨

Xian (xianrio)
Always my golden recommendation.
Top-tier Asian cuisine, super sophisticated vibe, rooftop with one of the best views in Rio, and excellent service.
The price is more than fair for what they offer (I’d say even below). They also serve the same meat menu as Giuseppe Grill.

Masi (masi.rio)
Absolutely stunning. Rooftop at Hotel Nacional in São Conrado, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, delicious cocktails.

Emile (restauranteemile)
Rooftop at the Emiliano Hotel. French gastronomy with full views of Copacabana’s coastline.

Marine Resto (fairmontrio)
I was embarrassed when I went because I mistook it for another place and was underdressed. It’s on the rooftop of the Fairmont, extremely upscale, with views of Copacabana.
You can extend the night enjoying amazing music by the pool.

It’s very common for people to reach out to me after already building their own travel plans using ChatGPT. They send me what looks like a complete plan and say “we just need help with X thing”. And normally I need to redo the whole thing 🥲

I used ChatGPT a lot during my Eurotrip. I didn’t have a “Carolina” to help me, didn’t speak French or Italian, and not all websites had English information.

ChatGPT can be extremely useful for:
– translations (it nails the tone you want),
– general overviews of cities and landmarks,
– cultural tips,
– quick currency conversions,
– and suggestions of dishes you should try.

But at the end of the day, it’s still a robot.
And when we’re talking about travel and about experiences: you need the HUMAN touch.

Here’s what happened to me with AI:
It gave me crazy metro routes in Paris; sent me to a restaurant in Rome that had been closed for years; made me miss my ferry to Sardinia; recommended a bar in Cannes that was… let’s just say, sketchy.
And just yesterday, it told me Flamengo is playing in Rio this June… that match is happening in the U.S 😒

Having a local travel planner from the very beginning is an investment that saves you your most precious resource: time.
A personalized itinerary curated by someone who knows the city guarantees you’ll get the best vibe for your personality and budget — and ensures your logistics are safe, smart, and cost-effective.

AI might suggest a path.
But a planner? A planner knows the best route that actually works.

A real planner knows:
– what’s trending right now,
– which restaurants are truly worth it,
– where locals eat,
– what kind of crowd goes to each party,
– the best time to go to certain places,
– how to talk to vendors and skip language barriers,
- how to optimize your time in town
– how to navigate transport websites without confusion,
– which tourist traps to avoid,
– and can connect you to the right people and for the real experience!

AI can be smart, but a professional planner is well connected.
AI gives you options. A planner gives you access.
AI shows you what’s popular. A local planner makes your trip unforgettable ✨

If you’re coming to Brazil and plan to visit countries like Colombia, Panama, Peru, Thailand, Indonesia, South Africa, or Singapore afterwards.. there’s one requirement that could ruin your trip if you don’t prepare for it:

💉 Many countries require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination if you’ve been in Brazil — and not just any proof.
📄 You need the International Certificate of Vaccination (ICVP).

The vaccine must be taken at least 10 DAYS BEFORE entering these countries.
A regular vaccination paper is not accepted — ONLY the official international certificate.

🌍 Countries That Require the Yellow Fever Certificate After Brazil:
	•	Colombia
	•	Panama
	•	Bolivia
	•	Venezuela
	•	Guyana
	•	Suriname
	•	Peru
	•	Paraguay
	•	South Africa
	•	Nigeria
	•	Ghana
	•	Cameroon
	•	Uganda
	•	Kenya
	•	Tanzania
	•	Indonesia
	•	Thailand
	•	Singapore
	•	Australia (in some cases)
	•	China (depending on your route)
	•	Jamaica

✅ Always confirm with the airline or the embassy of your next destination.

💉 Where to Get the Yellow Fever Vaccine for Free (Once You’re in Rio)

📍 Copacabana
Clínica da Família Paulino Werneck
Rua Siqueira Campos, 138

	•	Public health clinics (Clínicas da Família)
	•	Municipal Health Centers
	•	Centro de Saúde Escola Germano Sinval (Manguinhos)
	•	Policlínica Piquet Carneiro (Zona Norte)
🚫 UPAs do not provide vaccines — only basic health units do.

✅ Bring a photo ID and your passport if you have it.

📄 How to Get the International Certificate (ICVP)

❗ You won’t be able to access the gov.br system yourself
✅ Ask a local (friend, concierge, host, or guide) to help request the certificate using their gov.br login

📄 Or go in person to a Brazilian health authority (Anvisa office):
📍 Galeão Airport – Anvisa (Terminal 2)
🕐 Monday to Friday, 8am–6pm
📞 +55 (21) 3398-3226
Bring your passport and proof of vaccination.

🔐 Lots of travelers have been denied boarding or entry for missing this detail.
If Brazil is part of your itinerary, and you’re continuing on to another country — plan ahead!
