Life hacks for #travelwithbaby ✈️ bring a #travelstroller — this is the #inglesinababy quid3 model. It has storage underneath, folds up compact enough to go into an overhead bin, and made navigating the airport way easier. The wheels are also removable but I didn’t even have to take them off! ✈️ pump/nurse/change baby Before you board in a lactation pod, they have a map that shows each location around the airport, as well as secure code for entry, stocked with hand sanitizer + the ability to control lights and temperature! ✈️ depending on age, bring a portable playmat! This was helpful for time waiting at the gate, and will use it at our destination too. ✈️ buy a seat for your baby! Even though pap infants fly free, it’s still safest to use your car seat on board in the event of turbulence, and so that it doesn’t get damaged being checked! Being able to be hands free allowed me a bit of time to snack and watch below deck while baby napped! We got a backpack to carry it through the airport, but some people use straps or dolly’s to wheel it like a stroller! ✈️ snacks snacks snacks! The diaper bag is full of teething crackers and pouches 😅 cracked them open within the first hour in the air. Everything linked in my Amazon shop! Reasons why I love #thelittlegym 🎉 Classes are engaging, using OG baby favorites like shakers and bubbles 🎉 Each exercise has a purpose related to developmental milestones (crawling, walking, etc) 🎉 The teachers are hands on, helping each baby + parent throughout the class (which has been helpful for at home practice!) 🎉 Age ranges are small. Other activities we go too have kids ages 0-5 which can be tough with a smaller baby, where the little gym keeps their students within a year of each other (or less) which is helpful for socializing and learning! I wish this was a paid ad, but just a PSA to other #atlantamoms If you’re headed to #truistpark for a #bravesgame , their nursing lounge is 10/10. I’ve been to mama’s rooms at other stadiums and museums around the city and this one is superior by far. ⚾️ The size — There’s different types of rocking chairs, seven in total (the plush ones have charging ports!). There’s also a large, thick playmat on the floor for larger/more mobile babies to have some freedom of movement in a safe space. There’s also loads of counter space with wipes and a #babybrezza bottle sterilizer, as well as a changing area, and even lactation tips from #northsidehospital + an on call #lactationconsultant ?!!! The first time mom in me always wants to intervene. I want to fix the spoon when he’s holding it the wrong way, or hand him the toy when it’s too far away. I want to google every milestone and ask other parents how to get there. I want to make him finish the last few bites of his food so it doesn’t go to waste. But I don’t. I won’t and I can’t. I can’t compare. I can’t force. I can’t take over. Yes, he’s a baby, but he won’t always be. The habits start now of creating an environment where he feels safe to explore, grow at his own pace, and make the decisions that he has control over. So much of parenting is unlearning negative anxieties, remembering that your child is an individual, and showing the support that you had or wanted as a little one. Loving them is loving your inner child. Happy national pool and cookout day 😎 With a little baby, we wanted to avoid the crowds this year, and opted for a #poolrental with #swimply 🏊🏽 Our son loves the water, and having this all to ourselves gave use peace and privacy away from the smoke and fireworks! Want to use a pool near you? A lot of people haven’t heard of swimply so let me break it down: it’s like an Airbnb, but just for pools!you can rent yard spaces (including grills, basketball hoops, etc) by the hour! (in fact — I try to let him have as much floor time as possible to help him explore… that’s really why I don’t like people holding him 😂) It means being your child’s biggest advocate. I know when he’s tired. I can tell a hunger cue from a sleepy cue. I notice when he’s overstimulated or bored Or confused or happy or scared We’re aiming for thriving beyond surviving. I was gifted so many pumps and bottles while pregnant, that once I delivered — I figured I would just feed that way. My milk didn’t come in right away. Baby didn’t latch immediately. The hospital lactation consultant wasn’t the most helpful. Lots of mamas exclusively pump (and honestly you’re rockstars because that is a JOB). It was nice being able to hand off little baby bottles, even syringes full, of colostrum in the first few days for my husband and family members to feed him with. I had the schedule, the storage bags, the bottle sanitizing station and freezer shelf. The pump sound was my white noise and spilled milk was heartbreak. My little one didn’t give up on breastfeeding, though. About once a day, he would try to latch. Neitner of us could figure out what position was most comfortable — do we use the pillow? Cradle hold or football? Left or right? We tried everyday. The first few days postpartum are such a whirlwind. Then something clicked. We found our rhythm. At about two weeks old, he went from only taking the bottle to only taking the breast 😅 It’s our safe space, our sleepy time, our cuddle moments and comfort. It’s a go to not only when he’s hungry, but overwhelmed, heating up, cranky (or of course, has the hiccups). I donated all my frozen milk I haven’t pumped in months, and don’t plan on it again. And honestly? Don’t plan on ending nursing anytime soon either. So when you tell a mama to just “give the baby a bottle”, remember that you don’t know the story behind a postpartum feeding journey. It’s beautiful, it’s personal. I’m so grateful to be able to continue feeding my baby with my body for as long as I can 🤱🏾 2025-06-27 17:22:11 .. 0 -100% 13 +66%

Even though he has free rein of the house at home, I do generally hold him when I’m in a public space, because: 1. I’m his mother 2. Too many people have touched/held/kissed him without consent 3. When other people say “please let me hold the baby” they’re holding him like an accessory. When I’m holding him I’m ✨ helping him emotionally regulate ✨ providing physical comfort and safety ✨ staying in tune to signs of tiredness, hunger, overstimulation, etc I’m all about the baby therapy, but sometimes mama has to step in and put baby’s needs first ❤️ 2025-06-24 17:57:31 .. 0 -100% 11 +40%
