Is your hairbrush full of junk?

Don't worry, it's NORMAL!

Just like our make-up brushes, we tend to neglect our hairbrushes. (I see you, eyeshadow brush covered in a month's worth of colors👀)

BUT, once your hairbrush is clean, you can feel such a difference in how it performs for your hair and scalp.

It takes a little bit of patience and elbow grease, but the result is so worth it!

First, take out all the debris you can by hand and with something like a tail comb (a hairpin works in a pinch)

Second, grab a brush cleaning tool (I do recommend having one of these) wet the cleaning brush with soapy water, and scrub your hairbrush thoroughly. This may take a few rounds, you can rinse the hairbrush after scrubbing, then go back in with more soapy water to scrub again until it's clean.

Lastly, lay the brush bristles side down to dry.

Your hair and scalp will thank you the next time you brush with your freshly washed hairbrush. 2025-05-01 23:36:35 Is your hairbrush full.. 22 -69% 1 -90%
Here is my lazy girl hair hack for framing your face

It’s so easy but super effective.

All you have to do is tuck your fringe hair behind your ears.
Crazy simple, but it creates the perfect shape to highlight your eyes and cheekbones and hits in just the right spot.

You can do this wet, right from the shower, while you’re air drying. Just detangle your hair, find your part, and tuck the first 1-2 inches of your hairline behind your ears. Make sure it dries completely before taking it out.

You can also do this if you’re heat styling. Once you have smoothed out that fringe section with your tool, tuck it behind your ears while it’s still warm. Make sure it cools completely before taking it out.

Then you have the easiest, cool girl, face-framing bits. Give it a try and send me pics! 2025-03-22 00:40:12 Here is my lazy g.. 34 -53% 1 -90%
What does a styling lesson with me look like?

1. Consultation. We find a comfy spot on your couch and get deep. I learn all about your hair goals, frustrations, inspirations, and your daily life.

2. Signature Style. What do you want your hairstyle to say about you? Does it project the person you are on the inside or who you want to be? That’s what I want to bring out.

3. Beauty Cabinet Download. We pull out all your products and tools, making sure you have exactly what you need, then get rid of the clutter. I make recommendations based on what we find.

4. Style Lesson. Are you struggling to make your blowout smooth? Are your waves not lasting? I will show you exactly how to achieve your hairstyle on your own. hands-on, with me, every step of the way until completion.

5. Communication. You have all month long after your appointment to chat with me when you run into issues or need a reminder of what we did together.

Anyone else trying to work on filling their cup first?

What are your barriers to taking care of yourself?

I feel a constant sense of overwhelm, there are a million things on my plate at any given time

But today I took the time to set the to do list aside and get acupuncture and a massage

The million things will always be there, AND it felt great to slow down and do less for a day

When you get a haircut from me, you get so much more than just a cut.

Throughout our time together, we discuss all aspects of your life as they relate to your hair care

Desiree is a surfer, who deals with dryness from the ocean, and general hair thinning.

I advised her to apply leave in conditioner or straight up bottled water to her hair before surfing to keep her hair from drying out in the ocean

We talked about hair growth solutions, natural, medicinal, topical, mechanical, etc

I went through her whole hair routine, from washing, after shower routines, non wash day habits, and everything else in between

I come up with a custom tailored plan for each of my clients, show them how to achieve their style on their own at home, and send them all the fun details in a follow up email the next day

I approach hairstyling holistically, I want you to feel incredible every day, not just on the day I’ve done your hair.

Hit me up if you’re ready to refresh your routine and fix any problem areas you have 😘 2024-08-13 11:31:15 When you get a hai.. 41 -43% 2 -79%
There’s nothing like a backyard haircut.

Anyone else’s kids asking for a summer chop? 🙋🏼‍♀️

I’ve got a few tricks to making your kids next cut easy and fast.

⛱️Firstly, using a guarded razor is easiest (safest) and quickest tool to use

⛱️Second, take advantage of a popsicle break from playing in the pool or the hose, and cut their hair. It’s most likely already wet, and the popsicle will keep them still for a few minutes

⛱️Third, try using hairstorystudio New Wash on their hair. It keeps their hair moisturized and tangle free. Making your bath routine and days in between washes so much easier.

⛱️Lastly, involve them or their siblings in the cut. It gets them excited and interested. Let them chop a piece off so they don’t end up doing it while you’re not looking

Hit me up if you need help with your kid’s hair. I’d love to give you the confidence to handle it on your own 💪🏻 2024-06-26 03:33:09 .. 84 +17% 4 -58%
I didn’t learn to braid until I went to hair school.

Braiding your hair can be tricky and is difficult to learn on your own. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t learn until I was an adult, going to school to study cosmetology! It’s not something that you learn in school, so where would you learn to do it other than someone close to you teaching you?

Braiding is a wonderful tool to have for your hair. You can braid your hair as a style or braid it to create beautiful texture, you can even learn to braid your kid’s hair.

I believe that hands-on lessons, and lots of practice, is the only way to learn how to braid hair.

Book with me and we can get you on your braiding journey.

Want to know my secret for cutting kid’s hair?

It’s not taking them to a salon with cute airplane chairs. And it doesn’t involve bribing them with candy.

My trick is to cut their hair in the bath!

🌟They love being in the water
🌟They’re distracted with toys
🌟And generally in a good mood

It’s the perfect time to trim their hair as they play around

I have even taught my son how to do it and now he loves cutting his own hair and his little sister’s hair

Needless to say I know how to handle kids and their hair.

If you need help maintaining your little one’s hair in an easier way that fits into your busy schedule, book an appointment with me

Don’t have time for appointments but still want to look your best?

People are busier than ever these days. They’re also reprioritizing how they’re spending their time.
I know I am!
Having more time at home, and time with family and friends is the goal for a lot of people.

Clients don’t want to spend the extra time and effort to leave their home for appointments or grocery shopping or anything that is unnecessary or could be done from home.

Getting your hair done at home gives you much more freedom and flexibility. You could even have laundry going during an appointment!

I offer haircutting and styling services and lessons all done in home.

Learning to style your hair efficiently is a top goal for my clients. They want to look good and be done in as little time as possible.

Message me and we can make it happen for you too.

“Aubrey was a gamechanger for my hair routine in so many ways.
⚡️She gave me a great haircut
⚡️Then she went the extra mile to recommend some really amazing products and helped me to learn to style my hair.

🌪️I have really difficult, thick and textured hair

Every time I go to a salon, I get the feeling the hairdresser is just trying to sell products that the salon carries. But the products that Aubrey recommended were perfectly tailored to my hair and truly made a huge difference- I am never going back to my old shampoo or hair oil! 🌈

⚡️As if all of that wasn’t enough, she gave me some incredible haircutting tips. Once Covid hit, I taught myself to give my husband haircuts and I’ve kept it up for the last few years. I do a pretty decent job, but I don’t have any real technique. She gave me a great lesson that helped me to cut his hair like a pro- saving so much money each month that he used to spend at salons.

💫Aubrey provides services you can’t get anywhere else and they are invaluable!
Her calming, caring presence is just a cherry on the cake”

Everyone at mom’s night had the same complaint about their hair.

It’s their baby’s favorite plaything.

Like many new moms, I have opted for the lower maintenance lifestyle of having long hair.
Sounds great at first, less haircuts per year, easy to put in a ponytail, wash & go styles look great. But then you’re dealing with your sweet toddler grabbing it, getting food stuck in it, tangling their sticky fingers in it, and that hurts!

With all those downsides you may be temped to just chop it all off.
But I can tell you there are SO MANY ways you can contain your hair away from your kiddo’s hands and still feel beautiful and put together while running after your babes.
BONUS, they’re quick and easy to do.

I take time with new moms to help them wear their hair in easy, comfortable, and most importantly QUICK styles, so they can focus on what’s important, quality time with their family.

Are your hair products working for you or against you?

Did you read an article about the latest hair product, rush to buy it, only to have it sitting and collecting dust?

It can be hard to know what products to buy and how to use them. Or if you even need them at all.

It can take years of trial and error to find what you love and what works for your hair and your lifestyle.

Through my years behind the chair, I have experimented with A LOT of products. I can’t even begin to say how many!

I work with my clients to get them on the right track right away. No more trial and errors and wasted money on unnecessary products.

I also set my clients up with trial kits, giving them an opportunity to try before they buy.

Interested in refining your product cabinet? Hit me up and let’s get it going.

Does your hairdresser take the time to show you EXACTLY how to style your hair at home?
Give you a hands on lesson with your own tools?

Most stylists in the salon don’t have the time after cutting and coloring your hair to give you a proper walk through of everything you need to know about your hair. And we shouldn’t expect them to! They have so many clients packed into their day.

It takes someone months and many tries to learn a new skill, like how to do their hair.

Having a hairdresser do an at-home hands-on lesson is your best chance at locking in the skills to achieve your favorite hairstyle. Maybe you’re just holding the curling iron at the wrong angle, or using the completely wrong product for your hair. You won’t know until someone is there in the room with you, showing you what to do and adjusting you as you style.

Are you using the right hairbrush for your hair? And are brushing your hair and scalp enough?

Often times people don’t brush their hair enough. Maybe they read somewhere not to brush their hair, or were told by a friend it’s not good for their hair.

But that’s not the case!
Most hair types and textures really benefit from frequent and thorough brushing

Proper brushing will:
⚡️Break up dead skin from the scalp
⚡️Distribute oil from the scalp throughout the hair, nourishing it naturally
⚡️Fully detangle your hair
⚡️Stimulate blood flow to the scalp, which promotes hair growth
⚡️Plus it just feels really really good

A regular therapeutic brushing routine will do wonders for your scalp and hair
