With warm, roomy vibes and a neighbourhood cafe, it's perfect for your dinner dates, friends & family outings or just some me time!

The flavours draw from global influences, while the ingredients stay rooted close to home, sourced seasonally and locally.

My favourites:
- Paneer Tikka With Plum Jam
- Eggplant Parmigiana - Chef's Special

While they're serving breakfast as well, evening vibes are unmatched!

Maharaj at wimbledon 🎾

My first memories of tennis were seeing Federer play, snipping his photos from Sportstar magazine for my photobook back during hostel days.

But it wasn't until the epic 2008 Federer vs Nadal finale that got me hooked to tennis. Since then my understanding of the game has improved, from not understanding luv-15 to understanding Alcaraz saving 3 match points to win the Roland Garros.

Last year I was lucky to be in Paris for KubeCon and as an amateur fan of Tennis, I visited the Roland Garros stadium which was surreal.

Earlier this year, I got a chance to speak at KubeCon in London, and I had to visit Wimbledon - the home of Federer.

I opted for the 90 min stadium and museum tour that took me around the beautiful Wimbledon complex - from visiting the famous court 18 to the court 1 and the center court. They still had the last Wimbledon final scoreboard. Learnt about the various traditions at Wimbledon as well

The museum visit was also interesting and it showed the history of the sport in England. The rise in popularity of tennis - at one point most tableware were tennis inspired. But seeing that Men's trophy with Federer all over it was surreal.

If you're a tennis fan, a visit to Wimbledon is a no brainer, it's the Mecca of Tennis.

I'm not a sweet tooth as such, but Ras Malai and Boondi Ladoo have my heart, no doubt.

However, if I had to pick one videsi dessert that blew my mind, it's Les Trèches. It has a special place in my heart (and stomach).

After a long day exploring the Lord's and London ki galiyan, I walked into letocaffe.official SOHO - another beautiful part of London.

I didn’t walk in because Alia Bhatt or Ranbir Kapoor said so (although Alia called it her favorite dessert spot!) - I went because, well… when Maharaj was in London, he must try the best! 👑

Les Trèches lived up to every bite:

🤤 Perfectly moist and succulent
😍 Heavenly creamy texture
🥰 Pure indulgence with every bite

And that’s just the start.

L’ETO’s Soho café has:

🧁 Cupcakes & muffins
🍰 A variety of cakes and tarts
🍮 Rich puddings and more

The cute café vibes, bustling energy, and the aroma of freshly baked goodies made it an experience worth repeating.

Will I go back? Absolutely! Les Trèches to Maharaj ko bhi pasand aayi! 👑

Also thanks to _shilpasubudhi for being the partner in crime, though I didn't leave much for her to eat 😬😅😉

So what are you a fan of? Desi ya Videsh desserts?

Finally did the classic Loch Ness cruise from Fort Augustus because, let's be real, I couldn't handle the FOMO of missing Scotland's most famous loch! 🚤

Its deepest point is 230 metres, making it the second deepest loch in Scotland Loch Ness - and get this - Loch Ness holds an estimated 263 billion cubic feet of water. That's enough water for every person on Earth to fit inside it 10 times over!

Fort Augustus has been a strategic location for centuries. Originally, this settlement was called Kiliwhimin before being renamed after a Duke. The civil engineer Thomas Telford linked by means of the Caledonian Canal (opened 1822) that literally cuts right through the village with its impressive lock system.

Loch Ness facts that blew my mind:

The water visibility is terrible due to peat particles - perfect monster hiding conditions!

The loch is believed to be about 10,000 years old, having formed at the end of the last Ice Age Loch Ness.

It sits along the Great Glen Fault - you can literally see this geological crack from space.

Those famous monster sightings date back to the 7th century.

It's definitely Scotland's most famous loch experience for a reason - the combination of natural wonder, engineering marvels, and legendary folklore is pretty unique.

That said, I've got to be honest here - it was absolutely packed with tourists and felt quite commercial. Sometimes the most hyped experiences are more about checking boxes than creating magical moments!

It's Wednesday and I'm already dreaming of my next weekend escape from these Excel sheets... 💼😴

But let me take you back to one Sunday when I discovered the beautiful tradition of British Sunday Roast!

For those unfamiliar, Sunday Roast is basically Britain's answer to our family Sunday lunches - a hearty meal traditionally featuring roasted meat, Yorkshire pudding, roasted potatoes, and gravy, bringing families together every week since the 1800s.

Now, as a vegetarian, I thought I'd be left out of this cultural experience. But surprise! Many places across the UK now offer vegetarian and vegan versions of the Sunday Roast and I found my haven at auldhundred on Rose Street.

This charming spot is one of Edinburgh's oldest Rose Street pubs, converted from a Mission Hall around 1800, with exposed warm sandstone walls and a spiral wrought iron staircase leading to their cozy upstairs restaurant.

My vegetarian Sunday roast was perfection: 🥔 Crispy roasted potatoes
🌿 Haggis - already obsessed with haggis!
🥕 Steamed seasonal veggies
🥞 Traditional Yorkshire pudding
🍯 Rich, piping hot gravy tying it all together

After weeks of cold food, this hot, comforting meal felt like a warm hug. Paired with my usual ginger ale (teetotaler life!), it was exactly what my soul needed.

And here's the kicker - they served a Scottish tablet with the receipt! It looked like jaggery at first, then reminded me of our beloved Mysore Pak, and honestly? Tasted just as sweet and crumbly too!

As many of you know, I'm a total museum nerd, so the nationalmuseumsscotland was inevitable during my Edinburgh trip! 🤓

What struck me most was how this place tells Scotland's story through such diverse lenses. Built to showcase the nation's heritage, it's become a cultural treasure trove that's completely free to explore!

My cultural highlights:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Kingdom of Scots - Medieval Scotland came alive through artifacts and stories.

📋 Surnames of Scotland - Obsessed with this exhibit! From MacLeod to MacPherson, each name tells a clan's journey.

🎨 Wooden masterpieces - European craftsmanship at its finest, these carvings were mesmerizing.

🔧 Industrial heritage - Scotland's role in shaping the modern world is mind-blowing.

🫖 Tea traditions - Never knew Scotland had such sophisticated tea culture!

🥃 Whiskey legacy - From humble beginnings to global phenomenon, plus those vintage marketing campaigns were genius. Notice those Black & White commercials.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family-friendly tech - Kids section was amazing, though seeing that Nokia 6600 made me feel ancient!

📸 Rooftop magic - Best views in Edinburgh, spotted the Edinburgh Castle and St Giles' Cathedral perfectly

Hours flew by and I didn't even see half of it!

What's your favorite way to explore massive museums - rush through everything or take it slow section by section?

Nestled right in the chaos of the Royal Mile, St Giles’ Cathedral is a moment of calm wrapped in stone and stained glass.

This 900-year-old marvel isn’t just a church — it’s a masterpiece.

Inside, I was awe-struck by:

🪟 The stained glass windows — bold, detailed, and glowing with color, extremely beautiful!

🪵 The Thistle Chapel (had to look up the name later!) — carved wood, vaulted ceilings, and royal emblems everywhere - this was byfar my best in Edinburgh - first time wooden Gothic architecture, kaafi pretty and ornate.

🎶 A towering pipe organ that echoes through the arches like a soundtrack to centuries, way bigger than the one at St. Mary's Cathedral.

It’s rare to find stillness in the heart of a city — but St Giles gives you that.

A place to pause, look up, and just feel the weight of centuries of faith, art, and craftsmanship.

History buffs, architecture lovers, or just curious wanderers — don’t miss this one.

It's a must visit when you're exploring the Royal Mile.

Sunny Edinburgh mornings hit differently when you're sipping hibiscus iced tea at a Scandinavian café with floor-to-ceiling glass panes and city buzz all around.

Stopped by the soderbergbakery Pavilion near the University of Edinburgh, and let me just say — this place knows how to do a vibe and a vegan breakfast!

Here’s what made it amazing:

🥖 Scottish vegan breakfast platter (sourdough, rocket, sundried tomatoes — the works!)

🥣 Creamy oats that warmed the soul

🍹 Fresh juice that actually tasted fresh

🧋 Hibiscus iced tea — a floral, fruity dream!

It’s a popular spot — expect a bit of a rush, especially around brunch — but totally worth the wait for the food and the aesthetics.

Also the freshly baked breads and their variety were top notch!

If you're near University of Edinburgh, add this café to your list. Cozy corners, good food, and sunlight pouring through those giant windows = perfection.

Castle Blues >>> Monday Blues

Under a bright blue sky, atop an ancient volcano, I stood where history echoes louder than the present — edinburghcastle

As a history buff, this was the place I was most excited about on my Scotland trip. From playing Age of Empires and seeing majestic castles in CGI... to finally walking through one IRL — this was special.

Here are some fascinating bits:

🛡️ The castle sits atop an extinct volcano and has seen over 20 sieges through the centuries.

👑 James VI of Scotland (born in this very castle!) became James I of England — uniting the crowns and paving the way for the formation of the United Kingdom.

We took a guided tour, and it really brought the past to life.

And then there's the view — Edinburgh sprawled out below, dramatic and beautiful from every angle.

And here’s a fun milestone — after 30+ years of being a teetotaler, I bought my very first bottle of alcohol: a Scottish Scotch, purely as a souvenir. A small but special first!

Absolutely loved this visit.

A walk through a fairytale 👣

Edinburgh has a way of surprising you when you least expect it—and Water of Leith did just that.
We didn’t plan to walk the entire walkway, but the few kilometers we did cover were simply surreal.

Starting at the picture-perfect Dean Village, I was instantly transported to a postcard. Those colorful buildings I’d only seen in photos? Even more magical in person.

But what truly left me in awe were the historic stone buildings, each one straight out of a Victorian Gothic storybook. The architecture, the setting, the quiet charm—it all just clicked.

🏞️ Dean Village – Once known as “Water of Leith Village,” this area was a milling hub as far back as the 12th century.

⚙️ Grain mills galore – It was home to more than 11 working mills, powered by the river’s flow—some of the original millstones are still around!

🧱 The Well Court – One of the most iconic buildings here, built in the 1880s to house mill workers, still stands beautifully restored.

🌊 Water of Leith – This 24-mile river flows from the Pentland Hills to Leith, where it meets the sea—its walkway is a hidden nature trail through the city.

This little detour turned out to be one of the most calming and visually stunning parts of my Edinburgh experience.

If you’re ever in the city, don’t skip this—even a short walk here will stay with you long after.

We looked up on Google for places serving vegan breakfasts in Edinburgh and one place that stood out was paintedroosteredi

We decided to grab a quick meal before heading to St. Mary's Cathedral.

I went through the menu and wasn't up for a full Scottish breakfast and went ahead with a Scottish Roll instead.

Turns out what we call a roll here in India isn't what it is in Scotland. Turns out a roll is a burger and you can choose your fillings. Since it was my first meal here and wanted to try something local, I went for a Veg Haggis Roll which was served with beans and rocket.

Originally Haggis is a traditional Scottish meat dish made from minced meat and spices. Veg Haggis on the other hand is made predominantly from Oats giving it the chewy texture.

I totally loved this and couldn't find a better Haggis during my short trip in Edinburgh.

The place itself is small and cozy and quite popular as it was full in no time.
