What do you think to this? Would you buy it? Are you a fan of the Olay Super Serum? I do think the night repair version is a great option for those who are sensitive to fragrance but I think calling it night repair makes you think you are getting more and that you need a separate night serum whereas if they had marketed the “night” serum as a version for sensitive skin I think it would’ve landed much better! Is this central London’s best kept secret when it comes to skincare and beauty?! I forget this store exists sometimes but each time I go back I remember why I love it. I don’t know who’s spending £265 on this product? Wild. The ingredients list is also strange to me as well as it claims to target different levels of the skin so you would expect it to contain ingredients that do this but it only contains sodium hyaluronate which is the salt form of hyaluronic which is only one type of hyaluronic acid and even though this will go a little deeper in the skin it’s not a multi molecular hyaluronic acid as you are only getting one weight/type. It’s great for kids and adults, it’s perfect on nights you are using tret/retinol etc or it’s just a brilliant daily moisturiser to keep your skin happy and healthy! What’s not to love?! Photos from this weekend. A relaxing weekend was had. We visited Aldeburgh for the first time and it was lovely, albeit very posh. I had to make sure I didn’t say the word c*** too many times. I’m sure this was a recommendation from lukecatleugh a while ago (?!) I could be wrong! Popped for a non existent brew with my old mate doesmybumlook40 which is always gorgeous & Elvis didn’t piss on anything so that’s a win. We booked a cottage on the high street which was a great location and then just wandered and the best part of it was seeing how much Elvis loved it. Something in him comes alive near the sea, like us all I suppose. It’s good for the soul. He was in his element now he’s currently sleeping constantly. The joys of an old dog. Sounds like me. He’s 15 now and the best thing in the whole world. Why did writing that make me emotional? I just love dogs. Anyway we had the best brownie from 2magpiesbakery and obviously fish and chips from the chippy which was said to be one of the best chippies but I have to disagree. Give me fucking gravy! The north do a good chippy. It was good though! We went to Snape Maltings and did a wanky food shop at the farm shop which I loveeeee. If it’s overpriced I’ll buy it. This has to be one of the most transformative things a therapist has ever said to me. What was it you say? Let me tell you this first. If you’ve followed me for years you’ll know I’ve spoken about my body dysmorphia & bulimia battle before and how much it impacted my life and how much to some degree it always will even today. I haven’t had a bulimic episode in about 5 years and I never get that “urge” anymore but what I still do is pick myself a part when I’m maybe overly tired, when I’m feeling burnt out, when I’m not 100% basically. That’s key. Don’t ever judge yourself when you know you aren’t feeling 100%. I’m the first to pick holes in myself when I don’t feel 100% and never really considered the effects of how that impacts people around me or how the way you speak to yourself affects how you view yourself. Silly right? It’s obvious. Anyway here’s the thing. This is me in this photo. Little Andrew. I used to speak about me up until the age of 25 as one person and then me after as a different one. This little lad is still in me. That’s still me. I wouldn’t talk to that boy in the photo like that so why am I doing it to me? That boy needs protection. What happens we feel a little flat, fatigued, exhausted etc is we let the inner child speak. That child who has the trauma, the hurt, that’s him speaking. You wouldn’t let a child control you would you? Why you letting him now? You have to take charge. The point is and what really transformed the way I view and consistently try to view myself is that when I look in the mirror and I don’t see what I like I don’t criticise, I think of that boy. I love that lad. That lad is me. That inner child needs healing and the only way to do that is for the grown up to step in. You aren’t just speaking bad about you, you are speaking about that young kid. That hits hard doesn’t it? Be kind to yourself and heal that inner kid and life becomes fucking beautiful. I wanted to share that as I know a lot of you have been through similar. Pop a photo of you as a kid with you at all times. When you feel less than 100 remember who you are doing it for. You don’t need to spend a lot on moisturisers. Save your money for your serums that will actually transform your skin. Retinal and vitamin c is what made the biggest difference to my skin.
