Thankfully these feelgoodfoods mini gluten-free pizza bagels have no age limit. ‌ The kids these days will never know how good they have it. I’m happily enjoying all the new gluten-free foods and snacks with them though. Feel Good Foods are always certified gluten-free and taste great. These mini pizza bagels were so easy to make - ready in the air fryer in under 7 minutes. 📍Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA | Toastique ‌ This brunch spot in LA has me feeling all warm and toasty inside. I tried toastique for the first time this past weekend. Toastique has multiple locations. I’ve seen previous positive reviews from other gluten-free instagram accounts about Toastique which made me excited to try it. ‌ They specialize in fun gourmet toasts but also serve smoothies, juices, and açaí bowls. I tried the three cheese Italian while Kat had the PB Crunch. ‌ They are very knowledgeable about cross contamination. The gluten-free toast has its own toaster and it’s made with separate ingredients in a clean area of the kitchen. They use udisglutenfree bread but you get two slices which makes the meal very filling because they LOAD it up. ‌ The granola is from The Granola Factory which does not use certified gluten-free oats so best to skip if you have celiac disease like me. 📍Santa Monica, CA | Milo & Olive ‌ Freshly made, gluten-free pizza dough is the best stuff on earth. The pre-made crusts just don’t do it for me anymore. ‌ I had some of those fantastic gluten-free pizza from miloandolive in Santa Monica. I felt very comfortable eating here because of all the steps they take to avoid cross-contamination. ‌ The gluten-free crust is mixed in a separate bowl so it does not get rolled out on their baking table with their other crust. That dough goes directly into a square pizza pan (only used for Gluten free) which then gets wrapped and stored in the fridge until they cook it the same day. They roast it in a separate oven from their main pizza oven but they do cook garlic knots in the oven. Both are on separate pans and they roast them separately from each other. Once it’s cooked, they use a separate workstation with separate toppings, spatulas and pizza cutters in order to serve the final pizza! ‌ All of their pizza combinations can be made gluten-free, they’re happy to make all modifications too. ‌ The dough is made with eatoriginalsunshine flour that is certified gluten-free. I’m always on the lookout for a great spot that can accommodate any food allergy or diet while also serving great tasting food that doesn’t make me feel like crap. The 100% gluten-free cookie shop confectionsbykirariwest is our go to stop when we’re having a cookie craving (the butterscotch miso is what dreams are made of) but did you know they also serve breakfast and lunch? ‌ My wife was a little reluctant at first having breakfast in a cookie shop but one bite changed her mind completely and it’ll change yours too. ‌ Confections makes their own gluten-free pancake flour for their pancakes and waffles. Although they’re not dedicated gluten-free I saw all the 5 star reviews from others with celiac disease on findmeglutenfree and felt comfortable giving it a try and I loved it. ‌ Starbird fries their tenders and nuggets in a dedicated fryer with no other gluten containing ingredients. However their French fries are fried in a fryer with churros. They regularly test the oil and report it at 4ppm for gluten (under the FDA 20 ppm required to label things gluten-free) but I still opted for the slaw as my side to be safe. I visited the El Segundo location of primepizzala for a couple of pies. Their manager was amazing and very knowledgeable about cross-contamination. ‌ Their gluten-free pizza is made from a combination of flours made from rice, tapioca, millet, and potato. There is a shared stone oven but the gluten-free pizzas are cooked on their own dedicated pans. They also have separate cutting utensils and changed gloves for the pizza. ‌ We ordered the spicy pepperoni and the Sicilian- made with ricotta and pesto. I have dumpling to confess, I’m in love with these new gluten-free potstickers from Mamahuhu and I can’t hide it. ‌ Mamahuhu is a San Francisco based company with three Chinese-American restaurants in the city. They’re now branching out and making frozen gluten-free potstickers available for purchase online to all of California or locally in their stores. ‌ Their eatmamahuhu potstickers come in two flavors- pork & purple cabbage and tofu & mushrooms. The wrappers are made with rice flour and oat flour. They use bobsredmill certified gluten-free oat flour which always makes me feel better when I’m consuming oat products. The potstickers take about 8 minutes to heat up on the stove and the instructions are incredibly easy to follow. ‌ Overall these potstickers are so delicious and I’m so excited to share them with you. 📍Costa Mesa, CA | Coffee Dose Cafe (Multiple OC Locations) ‌ Dedicated gluten-free waffle irons are the five most beautiful words in the English Language. ‌ I love taking a drive down to Orange County for a beach day and now I love starting those beach days with a Nutella waffle. coffeedosecafe is a fun coffee shop chain with multiple OC locations (check their online menus for food). Their flagship store in Costa Mesa has a big food menu including a gluten-free bone broth waffle and gluten-free Nutella waffle (they don’t make any waffles with gluten). You can substitute gluten-free bread for their other entrees but why bother when waffles? They also have gluten-free pastries but they’re kept in a shared cabinet with gluten-filled stuff and the Nutella Waffle was too fantastic to waste space filling up on anything else. ‌ They have a huge coffee menu with a ton of fun combinations. 📍Long Beach, CA | Heritage ‌ I ate gluten free at a restaurant with a Michelin star and lived to tell the tale. Even better, I had one of the best meals and I was able to eat everything on the menu. ‌ We visited heritage.lb in Long Beach and tried their farm to table 6 course tasting menu. Often times, Michelin rated restaurants refuse any accommodations for allergies so when I read on Heritage’s restaurant that they’ll accommodate gluten-free diners with 48 hours notice I was over the moon.
