Period 

If you aren’t training or working out then you are feeling the effects of the sedentary life.

➡️You feel stiff but sit all day?
➡️shoulders, neck, wrists, fingers, hips, knees or feet ache but you type on a keyboard all day?
➡️your knees and ankles crack but the only walking you get in is from the desk chair to the bathroom or fridge. 
➡️you have restless aching legs while sleeping which is creating terrible sleep.
➡️you get breathless when walking to the car 
➡️Carrying groceries take multiple trips and kills your shoulders.
➡️you grown and need extra support while getting out of your chair on the regular. 

All of the above scenarios can improve with an adequate training program. Even just moving your body 2xs per week at the bare minimum will make drastic life improvements.

I blinked and this was 2 years

2025 ➡️ 2023 

If I could give any advice to anyone it would be-Life is far too short. So without hesitation book the trip. Soak in the sun. Write the book. Create opportunities to laugh everyday. Host the dinner party. Start the book club. Go to the run club. Step out of your comfort zone more. Do the things that light your soul on fire. Then Sit in those moments & cherish them. 

Before I had kids, I was in my late twenties sitting on a stage as guest speaker for a wellness panel talking about inclusivity in fitness and to conclude my segment the host asked if I could go back in time and share a piece of advice with my younger self what would it be?

⬆️my exact reply is above. Cherish the moments & live in a state of creating a life worth lived. 

And what I’m realizing now in my late 30s as a mom the days and nights are short. You literally blink and years pass, not days not hours literally years. 

In 2023 I took my advice and booked a house for my family to the Jersey shore. We were a family of 3- mini was a little over a year old. Now 3 summers in this New Jersey shore family tradition has been worth every single penny. I said it in a previous story I hope I never forget the moments that come from these trips. What a privilege it was to watch my now family of 4 be with each other laughing. It’s magical. 

My friend, don’t take the time you have on this planet for granted. Make it so damn enjoyable that you wake up everyday with a smile and no regrets.

💥Kids can start comparing their bodies to others as early as preschool, ages 3-6. 

💥Around age 6 is when they start internalizing body shape & size. Expressing concern about weight or becoming “fat.”

💥Age 12-18 body image is greatly shaped by peers, media and rapid physical changes from puberty. 

💥Parents and caregivers can play a crucial role in body image over the years. 

I had to jump on this trend as someone who has spent almost their whole life battling body dysmorphia, negative body image and raging eating disorders. I’ve come to realize what we say outloud becomes part of us.

➡️I knew this way before becoming a parent but now my desire to lead with body kindness, open communication, encourage self compassion, model healthy behaviors and be mindful of what I’m saying about my body has grown for them. 

As parents we owe this to our kids. 

I believe our kids are watching and we need to be their first step to realizing how string, smart and talented they are.

“Strong over skinny”
“Food is fuel”
“We workout for life longevity”
“Our bodies are a gift”
“Being different makes us unique & wonderful”
“Movement is fun”

We have the abilities to rewrite narratives around bodies. We have the abilities to create a more positive environment for our kids.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard..

➡️I’ll start when I lose weight
➡️I can’t keep up 
➡️I don’t look like anyone there 
➡️I haven’t worked out in forever 
➡️Everyone is so strong and I can’t do any of the moves 
➡️I’ll come when the gym is less crowded
➡️everyone is gonna look at me idk 

I’d be a zillionaire. 

But seriously some hard truth- the above is clouded thoughts self created to stop you from moving forward. 

💥Every single person had a day 1. They didn’t just show up to the gym or a workout class with the fitness level you see now. They turned their workouts into practice, created consistency and established a routine that created results. 

Showing up is tough but if I could offer any advice. Rip that bandaid off. Give yourself the biggest pep talk and start. 

🎧Listen, it’s tough in the beginning, it will continue to be a challenge but that’s the point to challenge yourself. However, it will get more enjoyable. You will get excited about the results and be driven to keep showing up. Because you’ll see the value- both mind body and soul.

I guess I’m a dinosaur 🦕

Where my runkeeper runners at? 

Marathon training has official started. I am taking you along for the ride. 

➡️A lot of people say to me “oh I could never run a marathon but I’ve always wanted to try.”

So why do you? 

❌I was NEVER a runner. Like ever. Hated to run. But then it all changed when it became a moment to connect with my husband. We turned runs into moments where we could accomplish our workouts + catch up with each other.

Too many people think you have to run fast af to be considered a runner. I’m here to show you that’s not true. A mile on the road is a mile on the road. 

🐴Some people like me are built for the Oregon Trail- long distance, stamina and carry their family on their back to safety. Then there’s some people who are built for delivering messages quickly from town to town which is where the story of the marathon begins. 

But anywho ⤵️

Todays run: 8 out of 10 on the dang that was rough scale. 

Today’s run was brought to you in part of a 2AM wake up, packed work day that started at 4AM, gorgeous weather, espresso, officially in the final stages of weaning and down to 2 breastfeeding sessions this week- energy level not great but we are pushing through because for personal reasons I’m kicking it up a notch!

The theme of this half marathon. My 1st half after baby 2. It came with excitement, nerves and A LOT of soul searching, digging deep within myself.

➡️First 7 miles I was exactly where I trained to be. Then BAM direct sun and a 3 mile incline done 2xs that tried to break me. But like I tell you- the best views are always at the top. And what goes up must eventually come down. AND WAS I SO THANKFUL when that decline arrived 😂

Y’all this was a family affair. I’m so proud of my nephew for completing his FIRST half marathon and my brother in law for completing a solid 10k.  It’s very cool and motivating to celebrate the miles together. 

👟This run wasn’t for time because a mile completed on the road is a mile completed. This run was for me honoring my postpartum body that gave life to not 1 but 2 incredible babies the past 3 years.  Running 13.1 + breastfeeding along the way. For all the sleepless nights and the early runs. The days where I questioned if I’d finish. For all the pelvic floor rehab strengthen sessions I did before the race and all the postpartum strength sessions I put in to get to the race at almost 7 months postpartum. This run is for all the parents out there who have decided to not let parenthood stop them. For all the parents out there showing up for themselves and for their kids. 

This run reminded me that we can do hard things. It’s all about mindset. Sharpen the mind and you can accomplish greatness! 

Now it’s time to hit the lab. The journey to 🌇New York City Marathon has begun!

One weekend, one race, one personal comeback. 

The first Half marathon post baby 2 has arrived!!

2024 I started training for the NYC marathon. A month into training I found out we were pregnant with baby 2. 

💕Baby 2 and I trained for the marathon including running half’s while pregnant with her up until a month before the marathon. My long runs were tough on my body so I decided the risk out weighed my personal reward. 

So here we are 6 months after baby 2  arrived! Hitting the pavement on the road to NYC marathon 2025! 

⏰Every early morning, every mile trained, every tear, nursing session on a run and every come on Amanda you can do this will be honored this weekend. 

No matter what happens this weekend- I’ve already proven that rebuilding begins the moment you decide to start 💫
