𝑰’𝒎 𝑩𝒂𝒂’𝒂𝒂𝒂𝒌! If you’ve been watching my stories, technically I’ve been back on socials since the beginning of April. Due to politics and going back to the states for the winter, I hit pause on social media starting in November. Came back home to Panama in February to regain my strength… decided to weed out my garden so I can grow stronger. My circle is pretty tight ATM. I think I like it this way… but it’s hard to keep them dark ones from being hypnotized, coming towards my light trying to drain my energy. I shine too bright, though. Love wins. Anything that disturbs my peace garden gets cut… and is now dead to me. As per usual I thrive without dead weight. My love grows even stronger when satan hates. April (and last part of March) I started capturing images of life again instead of being low key. I know some mean well but I really wanted to preserve my energy. 🌏✈️ ❤️‍🩹 𝑪𝒂𝒏 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒀𝒐𝒖? ❤️‍🩹 🌏✈️ I’ve been asking myself this question a lot this month…since I’ve been back in the U.S. and I’m surprised to find I’m not depressed! It’s the first time since 2020 that I’ve felt ‘normal’ in The States. Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to get back home to Panama. 🇵🇦 I absolutely love Panama…and I moved there because all the trauma in the U.S. nearly broke my Aloha Spirit. In case you don’t know the story…I decided on Election Day 2020 that I was moving and I sold my home in Tampa April 2021, set up a STR business with the proceeds, by February 2022 I moved to Panama. I come back and forth because I have family and business in the U.S., but this is the first time I don’t feel sad being here. In 2019 I fell in love with the Human Race again during my Europe travels. 2020 traveling Costa Rica I realized I had superpowers (more on that another day). In 2021 Tulum, Mexico I faced a lot of issues I didn’t even know I had…and I’m so much more self aware than I was before that magical trip. Every time I travel back to the U.S. and return to Panama I see a change in me…in both places. Immersing myself in new cultures and ways of life has taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible. 🌎✨ I strangely believe, if done with the right intention, Travel can be a transformative power in self discovery. Soooo, I came back to Florida thinking I’d be at the beach every weekend. I made it once! It’s still rainy season in Panama 🇵🇦 but Florida Summers are even rainier than Panama…and hotter. Quick History Fact: For 200 years Portabelo, Panama was the most important Port in the Americas. It gave major access to colonizers which changed the world. It wasn’t a pretty history…but it’s part of the world’s history and worth a visit to learn about. Portabelo is now a peaceful small town where you can take little boats to beautiful Colón Islands… On this day I was on my way to El Bar Pupy on Isla Grande. I ran into unexpected issues with my Airbnb properties and had a series of doctor appointments that kept multiplying! 😒 Bad surprises. I thought I’d be in the U.S. for no more than 2 months and instead it became 4! Nomad Life doesn’t mean that I stop being a boss or that I can neglect my health (I have to tell myself that). After 2 months in the states I descended into a hole away from social media to concentrate on 1 business…I’m finally out of the weeds and on my way back to Panama!🇵🇦 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Canyoning turned out to be a fun memorable experience…especially because I never dreamed I’d be descending into dark places alongside waterfalls. 😁 Good surprises! landsinlove_tierrasenamor is a Vegan Resort and Adventure Center full of surprises in beautiful Costa Rica! 🇨🇷 Proceeds go to animalloverescue a no-kill animal shelter. Love is Kryptonite…for me 💜😳💜 This year’s obligatory Valentine’s Day post is more of a confession… This photo is from the night before HubbyStanks had to move back to the U.S. from Panama…not by choice. I was devastated and in turmoil in this photo, let alone still recovering from a surgery I just had in the U.S. What I didn’t know that night was a whole new journey was ahead of me…that I was going to really understand my “power.” I always knew I was capable of anything…I proved that I can do big things in a small amount of time…like producing stage shows. 👀 Honestly, I know I wouldn’t have attempted my new path had he been with me…but I was alone…so I did. I went Deeper with Self Awareness… In marriage you become one and there is a ton of compromise to get to “one” and remain there. Without my other half I had only my own interests to consider last year. I wasn’t watching TV anymore. I didn’t have a partner to laugh and play with every night. I actually slept…early most nights when I didn’t have an event I was throwing or attending. I wasn’t catering to my man. I was just doing me… I missed my man but fate caused me to execute who I am and what I’m capable of. I love my husband and don’t want to be with anyone else…or apart…which is WHY he is my kryptonite. He is the only person that can affect my mood, make me think twice, and change direction…not listen to my gut…because I MUST consider him…and after all these years we are still madly in love…and without his love I just wouldn’t be me. Now that I know what I know after our year apart, it’s about finding a balance. Marriage is not easy even after 19 years. Calibration and balance is key…to success in one’s life and in creating a life with someone else. If you’re doing life right you don’t stay the same…but you learn to grow together. I hope you have or find love WORTHY enough of being a kryptonite for you. A love WORTHY enough to make compromises for. I’m No Snow Bunny I low key suffer in the winter…if it’s cold. In Hawaii we didn’t have cold winters. In Panamá It’s considered Summer during the U.S. winter… Update: I had a phenomenal 2023 abroad. I made it point not to come back to the U.S. until the year was over. Panamá, Colombia & Costa Rica owes me nothing. I spent Christmas in Costa Rica, spent my last days of 2023 and I rang in the new year in Panamá. I went back to the U.S. this January (Panama Summer) and 2024 has been a struggle thus far…partly because I’m cold. 🥶 I’ve been MIA on socials since I landed on U.S. soil. I have to take care of property issues I’ve put off while abroad and I’m seeing doctors before going back. The other part of my struggle is Uncertainty. I live for the future. Not ideal that I’m not in the present, but it’s my truth. It has been a month in the U.S. and I finally got some construction estimates last night so I’m getting closer to having a real timeline for planning again…and travel back to LatAm. To cheer myself up from these winter blues and my longing to go back to Panama I decided to go through some of my Costa Rica photos. I ran across #BlackSandBeach photos from my nomadnesstribe x intrepidtravel trip to Playa Negra in Limón, Costa Rica. Instantly, I felt better after looking back on early morning beach shots. 🕰️ I don’t live in the past much because I’m usually busy living and creating my future… I got so good at forgetting bad times that I also glaze over the good times that I had. Maybe this pause is necessary for me to remember all those wonderful memories, reflect on the not so wonderful moments, and just be grateful that I was fortunate enough to have them…and practice being present and find the beauty in being back in the U.S. for the moment…even if it’s cold. 😉 🌺 Aloha again my friends! Soooo, I did a thing… Well, I did a lot of things but this one is way out of character…or is it? 🤔 I created the First All Male Dance Show (Revue) for Ladies Only in Panama with my Panamanian friend (who helped spark the idea). aisha_danzarte told me she wanted to take a trip to Vegas to see the Magic Mike show and I was like, just see one here. She said Panama didn’t have one. It was also her dream to create a Magic Mike-Like event. So I said, let’s do it! Our inaugural weekend of tropicalsecretspty Ladies Night was in September 2023. We did it speakeasy style and it was incredible. We got rave reviews from our English-Speaking mostly expat audience. We planned to do it again this past weekend, however we postponed to December due to the current protests in Panama. 🇵🇦 The postponement was Divine as our grassroots show caught the attention of the creators at emotionsdinnertheater …and we are now doing our second iteration of Tropical Secrets Ladies Night at the The state-of-the-art stage at Emotions in the Hilton Panama! My Ride or Live! 🥳🎉🎂🥳 Today I’m officially the mother of a grown man! My last baby…the baby of 4, and our only son is now 18. I can’t believe it. What I can believe is my son has overcome everything that “looked” like it was an obstacle. He can do anything. My son is smart, strong and independent. Many his age today are weak without their parents and afraid of the world…I didn’t raise a punk. Yet he is super respectful unlike a bunch of young punks. He has his own way of doing things successfully and even defies me and HubbyStanks as he should. Nelson was more than willing to move to a new country, learn a new language and go to a new school during one of the most important times of adolescence…his high school years. He’s a wonderful light in this world and I’m so proud of how far he has come and the man he is growing to become. Last year I didn’t know many people in Panama. I was getting my bearings, gratefully living abroad and learning a new culture. I was also on the verge of death but didn’t know it. My senses were overloaded…so much so that I my vision wasn’t clear. This year I am feeling alive. I know many people in Panama. I constantly have people wanting to spend time with me…and I’m so grateful that I that I can spread Aloha because I truly love human beings and I just want to continue being a light… but my light is not for everyone. No matter how much I want to love, not everyone knows how to receive it…let alone give it back. I’ve dealt with that my entire life. I blamed myself in many cases saying that I’m not everyone’s cup of tea… and the clearer my vision, the lonelier it gets. Sometimes oblivion is bliss. All I can do is conduct myself in truth and love. How anyone else takes that is on them and how they act on it is their karma. My nature wants to continue to give. To keep giving the benefit of the doubt. But spirit tells me there’s doubt for a reason. Either way…I’m a Leo…I can’t help but be a light. I will continue to love. I will continue to be a winner. Las Independencias is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in Comuna 13 of Medellín, Colombia. Once run by guerrillas, today it’s a hilltop community with a hip-hop vibe. I’m not big on touristy tours, and I was lucky enough to be pointed in the direction of lafuerzaestaenti and insidersfoundation that gave me great insight on the history and the current state of the community. Game Nights were getting stale and I really wanted to mix and mingle with friends and just vibe out. Panama has so much to offer, but I just haven’t found any events or venues that had a specific vibe that I found in other countries or back in the US… Thanks to tekapanama owner Javier (he himself is a Vibe) for reaching out to pre_c_leeyana an admin in the Panama Young Black Experience Facebook Group…I came up with an idea. I walked into TEKA for the first time and I was inspired. I decided to take over Game Night and create a Vibe Social. panamavibesocial was born! Baby steps, but it’s a Vibe! Located in El Castillo, laventanitacafeelcastillo is an open air, motorcycle themed family owned restaurant serving delicious Tico Food, Fresh Juices & Cocktails, Good Energy, and Views with a lookout point over Lake Arenal directly in front of Arenal Volcano! In addition to being fresh, healthy and delicious, the food is super affordable! I had a $7 Tico Bowl with Chicken and a frosted Piña drink. Every meal I had with these Beautiful Women Creators on this mentorship trip was special. It wasn’t just where we traveled to and our amazing experiences, but it was the Good Energy of the group that made the trip.
