📍 Cheddar Gorge, Somerset
👇🏽Here is how you can get there:
🚘 Approx 3 hours drive from London
🅿️ Free parking around the gorge but I would highly recommend to park in the village for £6/day
🚆Closest train is to Weston-super-Mare or Bristol, then bus/taxi
🥾 Start hiking from Cliff Top Gorge Walk - opposite the cheddar cheese shop and follow the trail and down from Jacob’s ladder
🗺️ 4 miles - moderate - although it totally depends on your fitness level. It took us nearly 3 hours to complete the trail
🐏 you can spot sheep’s long the route
🍵 Check out village cafes for food
🤌🏽 Fun facts:
🧀 Cheddar cheese is from here - Don’t leave without trying the local cheddar — it’s literally matured in the caves!
🗿 Cheddar Gorge is famous not just for its cliffs, but also for its caves - two famous ones are:
• Gough’s Cave
• Cox’s Cave
Unfortunately we couldn’t visit either of them due to time restrictions…leaving this for the next time.

Hands down our favourite staycation so far – pure relaxation from start to finish. We stayed in one of the most comfortable and spacious suites at South Lodge Hotel, with full access to their incredible spa. The highlight for me? The outdoor natural pond – a little chilly, but so refreshing!
Dinner at Camelia Restaurant was absolutely delicious. I was especially impressed by the hook and line bass – to my surprise, it tasted so good!
